Well the guy's willing to spend 5k in bitcoin. It's okay to ask other people's opinion, especially here where a lot of people can be considered as experienced traders and crypto users for the longest time. I think the question is pretty simple as to where he can get btc with his funds. He probably has an idea but want other people's suggestion as well. The only thing for me is, don't base the decision on what others say. Keep their tips in consideration but make your own decision based on your own research and study.

If you are experience crypto trader then it's fine to start with this huge money else my honest advice is to learn crypto trading first. A newbie coming with such huge money with little or no knowledge of trading may end my losing majority part of his investment. Good luck

Its actually hard to a new traders to start with that amount. Op should know the possiblity of what is possible to happen. If he only invested in BTC just to increase that a wrong idea , many people do that before but instead of profit they lost because they are buying at high price.
Even the price is stable right there is no way people will know what will be the market movement.

You can do that if you predict the price or bitcoin to rise. Unfortunately, no one can predict when it will happen again. So you better play safe and focus temporarily on the alt coins rather than bitcoin. Bitcoin still have the possibility to reach or overlap its price since 2017 from $10k.

For now, hold some of altcoins since there is no chance for bitcoin to develop nowadays. Maybe 8 to 10 years from now, but we're hoping for a fast comeback.

If you buy 5000$ worth of BTC and the price of BTC doubles you get double in profit.
If you buy 7500$ worth of BTC and the price of BTC doubles you get double in profit.

Same for any amount of BTC, you don't have to buy a full BTC!

As for OP,
If you have been around this forum for almost a year and you're asking if you can buy bitcoin or not...I doubt any of the above responses will be able to help your cause.

So don't think go and buy bitcoin hold it and wait for the right time. Invest that money in bitcoin is the best decision that you make because bitcoin is the most good one where you can invest your money with out regretting. Buy now bitcoin and you can hold it sell it in the right time because i know bitcoin price goes bubble soon.

I think he doesn't know that you don't need to buy a full bitcoin to own bitcoin. Basically if he has $5000 and price is $7500 he needs $2500 more to buy a full bitcoin.

I had a few friends who also made this mistake. They couldn't afford to buy BTC because it was like $15000 and so they bought Bitcoin Cash or Ethereum instead because it was cheaper, however they had no idea you can buy a partial bitcoin.

Most people in investing basically trade stocks and you can't buy half a share or a quarter of a share, so certain stocks like AMZN or GOOG which are priced at $1750 and $1300 are basically too expensive for most, so people avoid those stocks. Hence some stocks get stock splits where more shares are issued and the price is divided so its more accessible to more retail investors.

Find on a google search on which localbitcoin exchange. Every country there is a local exchanger or wallet that you can able to buy bitcoin but it needs you to sign up KYC verification that asks your personal details. But if you dont want to expose your identity, find an ATM machine to buy bitcoin located in your place that where you are resided at. In case you are really interested to buy Bitcoin and you have the money, I am advising that you do it as soon as possible. I am sure you can easily find a good and reputable cryptocurrency exchange to do the transaction, maybe except if you are in a location where the government has a condescending attitude toward cryptocurrency, in which it can be difficult to do it but it is not really impossible.
