etherdelta are asking for private key that serves as your password on your ether walleet.. if they will not do that you and even all people having their wallet expose to hte public can beeasily hacked by anyone by trading tokens to etherdelta at the lowest price and bought by someone who did that .. just to make sure that you are safe for your private just dont share youre keys to anyone anywhere but ether delta!
Agree with you. I also advise you to store keys only on paper or hardware wallet (like Ledger). AND NEVER INTRODUCE KEYS ON SITES WITHOUT HTTPS-security. NEVER!  Wink

Hello,

I wanted to try etherdelta to trade my tokens.

Can i trust etherdelta with my Private keys ?
I believe in etherdelta, because as long as I sell or buy tokens in etherdelta I think safe. although I have to use my private key, and in etherdelta I think the cost is quite small. so I think you should try to know the shortcomings and the advantages in etherdelta

EtherDelta doesn't hold your funds and you can feel free to trade there.
Of course, in our time anything can happen and there can't be 100% confidence. But still we have to make a choice and EtherDelta is right one I think.

I do agree with you, it is safe to trade there but nothing is 100% guarantee it is just like using myetherwallet.com to hold your tokens.
For me I think EtherDelta is one of the most underrated exchange in the space and their contribution has not been truly appreciated
yes, they do a great contribution to the development of altcoins based on ethereum, but its hardly to use indeed, many people put the price and volume the opposite place and more important is that most coins on EtherDelta are scams

Yes, you can trust Etherdelta.. but remember dont trust it 100%. I wonder why ED so slow responding the payment. Is their server busy?

Everyone is using Etherdelta and the traffic maybe causes it to slow down. As the number of ERC20 tokens coming in plus the number of users and transactions per seconds and per minute will be the possibility of slowing down so whatever the reasons are definitely developers are on it at this moment.

I used it a lot of time to sell my shitcoins and in my opinion it works really well, the exchange is decentralized so it is pretty safe but my problem with Ether Delta is that it's super slow

EtherDelta is truly slow but its very useful when it come to selling airdrops in market because those shitcoins only find there abode in Etherdelta.

Etherdelta is quite slower than commercial Cryptocurrencies but everyone is using it. What choice do we have for a decentralized exchange that only require a little gas as transaction fee to reward the developers who volunteered.

Yes, Etherdelta doesn't hold your keys, never.
It uses a cookie in your browser that's why every time you pop up your browser ot automatically open your previous wallet account.
Unlike commercial Cryptocurrency exchange sites, you're going to entrust your keys and they promise you secure and safe access except only the owner.

Well yes because etherdelta is one of the most trusted exchanging platform present. The security of your wallet then all accounts to you. Be sure to checkout or delete your account in etherdelta adter you transaction to secure you account and never give your privatekeys to anyone.

And it is running on smart contract so we don't actually need to worry. I used it when exchanging, and from that, based on my observation it is really safe. But I think it is still safe even if we don't delete are imported private key on etherdelta. And if you are using metamask, be sure to always log out when going on any sites.
