While it's theoretically possible for the price of Bitcoin to equal zero, there's a far greater chance of it increasing tenfold.

Just be patient. Don't ever sell unless you absolutely must.

so I got my first 40$ worth of bitcoin i noticed that the that the 40$ goes up and down. Im scared that it will go to 0$ is this possible?, Should i spend my bitcoin on a giftcard? any help please
Yes it is very possible if there are several factors that make bitcoin prices fall and have no value, anything can happen on the fluctuations. But to see the condition of bitcoin is now constantly evolving (it can even compete with gold), the potential is very little happening. Moreover, a few days ago bitcoin prices had dropped, but now will be restored. I believe bitcoin prices will continue to improve and will last a long time, do not be scared if the price goes to $ 0 because that will not happen.

In case of some extreme global misfortune affecting both internet and bitcoin network we could see radical price drop.
Bitcoin is not backed by any authority, country or institution, there is no central bank being BTC which will lower/raise interest rates to help BTC.
At this point it is rather possible that bitcoin will reach $10k before year 2020 than hit bottom and will be worthless.

Dont be worried about this matter because you are not the only one who is experiencing this but most bitcoin users and becoming $0 is not possible as of this days because if that happens then all bitcoin holders would become zero in value too.Fluctuating and inflating price is normal for bitcoin.

Your amount will never go to $0, but there is a chance for your amount will be less in the future if the price of bitcoin will get a lot of the dump caused by the delay or ignore by us securities. There is no chance for your amount got to $0 in the future. Don't take it for seriously dude.

Yes there is a chance for it but i can said the chance of it is pretty small because in my eyes after bitcoin price take over gold price it's a big news for us and will make people they not know or believe will bitcoin to be interested to invest their money on bitcoin.

There are way bigger chances of bitcoin hitting 1 million USD per coin than 0 USD per coin, because me and a lot of other people will be willing to buy all of your BTC if it goes below a certain price.

It is all about the long term and bitcoin is the best asset on the planet right now, therefore me and everyone that knows this fact will keep buying at any given opportunity.

Alright, what if instead of 0 USD per coin , we say something like 1 USD per coin. Money will eventually dry out if no new buyers come into the market
There will always be new buyers that come into market since bitcoin is used not only as investment but as a way to pay someone for services and goods bought online. As long as there's someone who accepts bitcoin as payment method for example online games accepting bitcoin as payment for premium items bitcoin will be worth something and it will rise soon enough. There are many others who might buy bitcoin if it had gone down to 1$.

Yes, now there is, but we can't be sure of the future. BTC might stop being used slowly and replaced with something new and better

of course it is possible, and if you don't have the balls to lose as small amount as 40 dollars then maybe you shouldn't be investing in bitcoins at all and should just use it for purchasing stuff? I am holding because I believe in bitcoins and I am sure that the price of the bitcoin is going to grow in a longer term, even if the price went back to 500 dollars I would be holding and if you want to be a good investor and earn money then you should be holding as well.

How much Bitcoin do you have?  Perhaps I can make you a deal that at anytime I will buy it from you for 0.01$ per BTC.  Then you never have to worry about it being 0$

Bitcoin will lose its value if something happen like war same thing will happen to your  0.01$ too so if you take that deal above which I think could be the best deal you could ever get in your entire life, its never going to have any changes to your life still. Keep that BTC of yours or cash it out to stash yourself some canned goods to prepare for the war  Grin

You may still have the change to cash it out weeks later becuase bitcoin after all don't drop its value all of a sudden to zero so relax.

Bitcoin started right from nothing and has grown all the way to over $1000 per coin.  Its community is strong and the chances of it dropping to nothing is extremely low especially since it's naturally designed to be a deflationary currency anyway.  Trust me, it's safe.  If it drops below ~$800 per coin, I would take that as an opportunity to buy more, because it's been going up and down for a long time.  Don't be worried.

What you are witnessing is normal in this crypro-world you are in as the price might be erratic sometimes due to factors that are beyond some explanations you can get. But on a hard note, the price can't fall to nothing and you should also know that by coming in here now, you should be aware if the risk involved as the price can swing both ways but with time you will make some money...

sure it can:

Bitcoin will be worth 0 if we have big ass war and internet is down or none existent

Bitcoin will be worth 0 or back to 40-50 USD if most of the western world make  handling bitcoin illegal

Bitcoin will be worth 0 or close to it if miners do not support it and it is open for attacks

Is like any investment you need to understand the risks and  keep your eyes open

If BTC goes down to $0 then not only will your BTC be worth $0, but so will everybody else's.
The value of BTC that you have is subject to fluctuations.
Say 1 BTC = $1000, then if you have 0.1 BTC, your BTC value will be $100.
Should the price of BTC fall, then the value of your holdings will also fall.
So, in the example above, if BTC falls to $500/1 BTC, your 0.1 BTC savings will have fallen from being valued at $100 to $50.

Bitcoin is still relatively new and as a result its price is subject to a lot of fluctuation. You should look st it as an investment. As with all investments, only invest what you can afford to lose. That way if your investments do depreciate, the loss won't be as significant to you.

Actually it can be happen but for right now your bitcoin worth of $40 will not be 0$ because many corporations, Banks and other had adopted bitcoin and also right now the bitcoin is waiting approval from SEC desicion, if it be approved your bitcoin will goes to the moon and don't spend your bitcoin on gift cards at least all of them.
