There is no doubt Ethereum have the biggest community in the space but it is not a chain that is too big to fail. There are some few good projects in the space now that can give Ethereum run for its money. Thou they will need to spend alot on marketing, pumping th price of the coin and also have a good platform  to show for their effort

In 2017 every altcoin was Bitcoin or Ethereum killer. In 2020 Ethereum and Bitcoin are the strongest cryptocurrencies that remain their position on Coinmarketcap, while all of these killers fall down in their rank. So, what you expect? We do not need new Bitcoin or Ethereum, we need to find a coin with a really diffrent use case.  Wink

There are many crypto token listed in coinmarketcap and been traded in top exchanges like binance, Yobit and lDex exchange which people consider as proficient enough in the cryptocurrency market and knowing well that Eth is ranking number 2 position in the coinmarketcap, let's discuss Do you think that any new crypto currency overtake Eth in times of price value can that be possible?
The answer is No, New coin can beat ethereum. I remember ripple was beating ethereum once but didn't last long. And now we see ripple's marketcap almost 4x under ethereum's merketcap. So even ripple which we know backed by bankers(many of them are whales) can't beat ethereum, so, do you think the new coin will??

There are always opportunities for other altcoins to replace ETH, which is currently in the number 2 position on coinmarketcap. Although the chances are very few, but the possibilities are still wide open.
Miners are always trying to increase the coins they develop to become one of the coins that is reckoned within the market, there could be hype coming from a great project that could push up prices beyond ETH, we'll just wait if anyone is able to surpass ETH and when that will happen ... !!!

In the Crypto World nothing is impossible, everything can happen even though it is very difficult to compete with ETH, which is actually the second strongest Coin in the world under Bitcoin, if it has the same system as ETH and has a strong investor and community in it, then the possibility could rival ETH in all global markets ..

Yes a new project can beat ethereum but it's almost impossible to achieve since we have many contestants like EOS blockchain and Neo but as good as they are they still fail to beat ethereum, it will be very hard and challenging for a new project to take over ethereum position.

Ethereum coin is the queen of crypto. This coin price very good for now.
Crypto market economy good position.Day by day this position so good.
Ethereum crypto market beat always second.Last 3-4 years this is second position.I hope futue crypto market this coin position same.
People accepted this coin.Day by day this coin devolved so good.
There isn't any doubt that Ethereum is the Queen of cryptocurrencies as Bitcoin being the king for sure, a few years ago before the ICO trend came to Ethereum, it wasn't that popular coin and was not the queen as it is now, at that time LTC or litecoin was holding that title from a very long time. Ethereum is still the best crypto to use for day to day works and even as a store of value because of the stability that it provides, but new cryptocurrency coming and beating ethereum doesn't seem possible for now as almost 50% of the industry runs on the Ethereum blockchain either in the form of smart contracts or in the form of ERC-20 tokens.

New technologies will always want to take over from the existing ones, however, the challenge in cryptocurrency is different as most of this new start up project need time to prove their authenticity. We all witness what happened to Yam farming and the rebating saga that wasn't properly audited, the spaghetti project that plunge in value.
The repeatation of this problem leaves investors skeptical and don't want to move to new technologies.
Perhaps, with ETH.20, scalability and performance of Ethereum will improve with time.

Scalability issues is the major setback for ETH, nevertheless everyone hopes ETH 2.0 solves this issue to a great extent. Some projects promising to curb scalability issues also get clogged when many users make use of their blockchain, EOS is an example. Now many people suggest Polkadot is the new "ETH killer", soon the hype will die down as usual. Same thing was said for Cardano. It's hard for a new project to attain the current market cap of ETH, but it's very possible in the long run.

Of course, it's possible. It's all about the product. If the new cryptocurrency will represents something more efficient, and at the same time, more convenient than Ethereum, then it will surpass it and take the second place in the ranking.
Is not it there was a lot of platforms that have already implemented the new tech that can overtaken the tech that is still used by ethereum? i can even mention some. It's not all about product but remember community, long term progress, adoption and various things are also very important too.

Eth is the top second coin in the market as well as it has great market capitalization, so these things are pretty enough to keep Eth ahead of new alts. So I would definitely disagree with the subject like this who thinks the new crypto can beat Eth.

Any new cyptos has a potential and possibility to beat ethereum in some point but I think it needs many more years and exposures before it surpasses what ethereum coin achieved to the crypto-world.
yes it will be great to have competition and finally the coin will become better and better Although it needs more than simply exposure but many projects built on top of the platform to make it more popular. I know ETH popularity gained from the massive ico funding back then where everyone use Ethereum blockchain and new projects need to replicate that process.

I don't understand why you think Yobit and Idex are the top exchanges in this market. They are the biggest bullshit exchanges and have a lot of FUDs, btw there isn't any altcoin that can surpass ETH. There is only TRON project, but it does not meet too many expectations of investors
dont forget about Polkadot now, this project have good platform like ethereum did. many project under polkadot platform get big success now in market, recently Mantra Dao that rise alot in their crowdsale and also in market.maybe they will be good competitor for ethereum platform.

Bitcoin and Ethereum doesn't seem to be mutually exclusive and I don't even think that at this point they are necessarily a competition to each other. Bitcoin is the leading store of value solution and Ethereum is doing an entirely different thing with building a platform for DApps, DeFi etc. I don't think Ethereum will replace Bitcoin but I also don't see any crypto replacing Ethereum at what they're doing in the near future.

Bitcoin and Ethereum can co-exist, because the purpose is different for both these cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin is more like a pure cryptocurrency, while Ethereum is a smart contract platform. Not just these two can co-exist, but there is even a chance that they can supplement each other. The developers of both these coins needs to work together to achieve that.

There are two different ideas about how cryptocurrencies look in a few years.
The first group of Bitcoin maximalists says that there will be the only Bitcoin and anything else is useless, worthless.
The second group says that technology is every day more and more advanced and old blockchains will be replaced by a new one.

From 2018 to now, a lot of new projects have appeared: utility tokens, platform tokens, stock tokens... but not many tokens can reach the price of $ 250/token, and the top2 position of Coinmarketcap is still in Ethereum's hand and it cap = total cap from top 3 to top 9 Smiley
One more thing is that the Ethereum team is very active and constantly developing their blockchain platform, other projects will have very few opportunities to challenge or surpass Ethereum, at least in the next 5 years.

Yes, any crypto has the possibilities to beat eth in the market and I had some specualtions of the potential crypto that could be eth like xrp bch and eos. Xrp had beat eth before especially on time where market was falling and thought that bitcoin will going to end.

Any new cyptos has a potential and possibility to beat ethereum in some point but I think it needs many more years and exposures before it surpasses what ethereum coin achieved to the crypto-world.
But now, ethereum had made upgrades and investors wanted to get more eth because of the said upgrades. Market for eth now is good also so it may be possible for other crypto to beat eth but for now lower chances that it could be happen.
