i am also with this one, Polkadot has a chance, but it is a long way for them to go to overtake Ethereum on position two, there is Chainlink as well, but i do not think that LINK could overtake Ethereum while sits on Ethereum, they would have to launch their main-net before or took a part on other chains as well

Ethereum will remain a safer and more stable platform in the crypto world and has a team and developers with a very good performance because it can maintain Ethereum's position as the second best coin after bitcoin.
It looks like another or new crypto to replace Ethereum's position is very difficult and although it may take a very long time and process, I take this as a joke like the previous news that Ethereum will replace bitcoin and it will not happen.

Quite possibly, nowadays many new developers are making innovative projects. Passing the price of ETH is not difficult, you only need to make coins with a small supply and create big hype. Currently there are coins like that. This YFI coin is very expensive and even exceeds the price of BTC because of the small supply and great hype.

I'm still a little confused by your question, what you mean here is to beat in terms of price or market cap? if in terms of price yes it can still be overtaken by new projects but if you talk about marketcap then I will answer it will not be overtaken

Any cryptocurrency can surpass Ethereum if it has much better technology and capabilities than Ethereum and, of course, if most of the big players will start trading only with this cryptocurrency which will surpass Ethereum, but so far we do not see this.

Any new cyptos has a potential and possibility to beat ethereum in some point but I think it needs many more years and exposures before it surpasses what ethereum coin achieved to the crypto-world.

the expensive transaction fees are just temporary. it's always like that when blockchain is overcrowded you might think BNB and any other will always have significantly cheaper fee but once they are crowded like ETH their fee will increase aswell. it's always like that in crypto since confirmation takes time.

What is "beat the market" for you? Bitcoin is on the first place, sure. But does it bring same value as ethereum to crypto industry at the moment? Hell no.
Bitcoin started the whole thing, but it struggles to continue push forward, so I think its rolling down the hill slowly.

I would say it is possible if these new coins can measure up their tech with what ETH is offering. Its not far off since new coins have fresh new and innovative ideas too but it wont be easy. ETH has quite established itself for a while. Id say that the closest competitor would be ripple.

I don't think that eth's price matters a lot at this point. Its trading volume beats most of alts and this is what important.

For now, there is not only Ethereum whose chain is used by many new projects (it could be because it is easy to create new tokens on the eth chain), although many of them are just for scamming.
But no one knows what happens in the future there will be a new coin that is better than ETH but it will still be difficult to beat BTC.

It's life, new things are replacing old ones. I can't say which new project can replace
Ethereum, I can't say when, all I know is that some teams will do everything they can
to try to get closer to the top. It's competition that will never end, and for now Ethereum
is doing good on the top, they work on development to stay there, but if one day they slow down, someone else can take advantage of that.

It would not take a long time for other coins to win over Ethereum if Etheruem continues to be such expansive and slow to transact. There are dapps, dex and defi on Ethereum but using them is nearly impossible at the moment. Ethereum is popular for being a utility coin. But now whether it needs to remove it's smart contract and dapps platform or make changes in the blockchain to make it quicker and cheaper.

In my opinion ETH is not matched by other coins, because ETH is always used by many people in transactions, unlike other coins, even though the price is high.

Everything is possible in this crypto market but it would not happen today for sure because ethereum is still in the position next to bitcoin. Maybe few years from now there will be sudden changes when it comes to altcoins and that a new coin is already replacing ethereum or even bitcoin's position but it would not be as easy as that.
