If I had a lot of bitcoins, I think it would be fine, but I only have a few bitcoins at the moment, so it's not practical in these times in my situation because we are currently in a bull run and also facing OP. Maybe that's okay if we're in a bear market.
Even if it was in the bear market, I am sure your excuse will be that you want to hold the little bitcoin you have ahead of the bull run. Seriously, the bull run shouldn’t stop you from spending your bitcoin if you really want to spend it. I am not holding much bitcoin either, but if I have the opportunity to make payments with the bitcoin that I have, then I will do it. I have been wanting to make purchases with bitcoin, but I haven’t seen any store that accept bitcoin in my country. Everyone is just scared because of the ban the central bank places on accounts with crypto transaction histories, so everyone is just scared because they don’t want anything that will affect their business.

Maybe there are some businesses accepting bitcoin in my country, but I don’t know about them, and I am sure they will be doing that secretly. But the time will come when nobody will be scared to announce publicly that they are accepting bitcoin as a payment method in my country.

I before many people has been paying bills with Bitcoin and they have a strategies they apply to make sure that they pay their bills with Bitcoin, I could remember before now that someone bought a pizza with Bitcoin and that has been a remarkable thing till today, so from my own perspective I know that through binance and other means you can make payment with bitcoin....in some countries people have not establish the method of paying bills with Bitcoin and that will make some people will fail to reason that their is option of making payment with such currency, what I want us to understand is that its threat of government that make people not to think of making payment with bitcoin as I stated earlier.

Congratulations Op, you've made a right step by accepting Bitcoin as a method of payment in your store. The 5% discount will also make customers to adopt the payment method and also create awareness to those customer that doesn't know Bitcoin can also be used as a payment method.Countries that are against Bitcoin, finds it as an illegal method of payment,so it's users remain anonymous while countries that are Bitcoin friendly accept it as a legal method of payment in shops, malls and so on without any form of restrictions. Now you've started accepting bitcoin as a method of payment it's your role to secure your coin safely by storing it in a hardware wallet or any reputable software wallet and not in centralized exchanges.

I'm proud and happy to see that your shop accepts payments for car repairs with Bitcoin, for me it's a genius idea and worth emulating for many other car dealers, I can only hope that in my area there are car parts dealers who think like you.

Unfortunately, in my area, no one pays for car repairs with Bitcoin, even though almost everyone knows about Bitcoin, whether you still lack confidence or are afraid, maybe I can give an example of this topic to those who have a car repair shop to carry out an idea like this.
I have a friend who owns a cake and bakery shop and he also promotes Bitcoin as an alternative means of payment to traditional or fiat payments, and after a few months not a single user uses Bitcoin as a means of payment even though everyone knows Bitcoin.
And most of their reasons are that Bitcoin is not cheaper or faster than traditional payment methods, it takes a few minutes longer than fiat to complete a transaction and there are fees too.
And using traditional payments or debit cards is faster than Bitcoin, payments may only take a few seconds and there are no fees.

Maybe that's one of the reasons, apart from that there are still many people who only know about it but are not involved and maybe there are many other reasons.

but eventually they will realized that they are paying lot for the fee compared to how much the banks are putting into it?
while the crypto users will understand this fact and also there is nothing wrong adding altcoins as options right?
because each of us are also having diversified folio and not just purely bitcoin.
Having more payment options certainly allows customers to choose what suits them best - but the main idea is to "accept payments in bitcoin". Many customers may be happy with low-fee or free transaction - so businesses can get around this by using things like using LN or Binance Pay.

This really depends on the bitcoin regulations in your country. Adoption of bitcoin as a legal tender is still difficult to achieve in many Asian countries - so perhaps that is the reason why no shops are willing to accept bitcoin as a means of payment.

If Bitcoin is not being fight against in your region and there are more people that knows about Bitcoin in your region, you will surely have rich guy customers that will pay with
Bitcoin to get their car fixed. Customers love to get discount and from the discount you have agreed to offer the people that will pay in Bitcoin, you will surely have them coming. Some people that are not even familiar with Bitcoin will buy Bitcoin so that they can pay you with it for the sake of the 5% discount. Keep it up @OP, kudos.

I'm also thinking about it. Maybe the fees for the bank payment in his country is very high, that's why they are seeking for the alternatives.
I think you are forgetting a specific type of people which are the unbanked. Not only people are avoiding high bank fees but just banks in general. So giving out an option to pay in crypto and not only through bank payments is a smart move in my opinion.

What is the bank fee in your country because in our country it is 100% free, we don't even have any additional account maintenance cost per month/year. Meanwhile, bitcoin's current lowest transaction fee is a few dollars per transaction.

How will you own bitcoin if you don't have cash or a bank account because bitcoin is not given for free. Whoever wants to own it must first have money.

However, in my country it is actually not possible to make payments with Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies, it is considered illegal and restricted. So, yes, it will indeed be difficult to implement payments with crypto, unless it is done secretly and there is a special agreement.
Doing it secretly will be very risky and I don’t even want to imagine the consequences you can face from trying to using crypto even though it is illegal in your country.

But even if bitcoin was legal in your country, would you really use it for everyday payments to replace fiat currency? Not just for car repairs, do you use bitcoin to buy a loaf of bread or a cup of coffee and are you willing to pay a few extra dollars per transaction when a cup of coffee doesn't even cost $1? A lot of people say they will use bitcoin as an alternative to fiat if the government legalizes bitcoin but I seriously doubt that.

What a creative and stress free way of promoting Bitcoin. This will definitely raise the curiosity and eagerness from your customers to know what this new payment method entails. And the 5% discount offer sounds totally attractive, as no one would want to avoid that as there is something to benefit from. Good job  Cool.
Actually with Bitcoin having Higher transaction fees , am not sure if this will really attract them using this
coin but for sure will be better if there are some alts also to be taken for consideration(of course just an option
when the fee is so high for bitcoin and keep BTC as priority)

You have a point here, but considering the fact that most of the customers might be new to it, then they won't really want to dictate about the high tx fees. Those who have stayed longer within the crypto space usually consider factors like this.

This is now good news in my country. I rarely see a store accepting Bitcoin as their payment. Most likely, they prefer cash because they know how Bitcoin works; I am just wondering what kind of wallet they are using or if you will use it with the Electrum app. Well, if they adopt more coins like the low transaction fee coins, it's more convenient to them and attract other people who support the use of crypto that they want to experience and try this service.

Good for you for supporting bitcoin! As others have mentioned, I would definitely get rid of that old legacy address and add a native segwit address instead.
I don't know how much knowledge about bitcoin you have, but make sure you don't get a fraudster trying to trick you with a double-spending attempt. At the same time, it's difficult and unpleasant to ask your customers to wait before a BTC transaction is confirmed. As we know, this can take anywhere from a minute to hours and doesn't always depend on the fees. How were you planning to deal with that?

That's great that you mentioned using segwit addresses. I also plan to accept other altcoins to give my customers more options. I will update this poster soon and add a segwit address and doge or tron address too.
Adding additional altcoins is a good idea, but I wouldn't suggest you start with tron. It's not really that popular of an alternative. Doge is ok. Try to add ether and perhaps a stablecoin like tether and DAI.

I applaud the OP decision to be accepting Bitcoin in his shop, the initiative will help to increase the awareness and adoption of Bitcoin, the more people that sees the signboard that has not known that Bitcoin is a decentralized digital cash will be curious to understand how it works. Although you should not feel discouraged if you don't get a lot of customers that are willing to be paying you in Bitcoin, because people are not used to it yet, almost every adult has atleast one bank account but it is few people that have crypto wallets, not to talk of holding Bitcoin. We have a couple of factors that will make Bitcoin payments not to be common or popular, many people hodl Bitcoin for investment not for payment purposes, and they can accept it but not spend it. Another reason is that fiat transactions are more convenient, especially in countries where transfer charges are very cheap, whereas Bitcoin transaction fees is higher. Businesses that wants to go ahead to accept Bitcoin, should do so because there are people who will still be willing to pay with it.

Yeah it's good for a bitcoiner to accept bitcoin in his or her private business but it's good for the person who's willing to pay with Bitcoin to have a good knowledge on how to send Bitcoin so that he or she won't sent to a wrong address. For a private business owner to accept Bitcoin in his business it means that the person knows the importance of crypto currency and he also wants to spread the adoption of Bitcoin in his locality, there is no hidden transaction in Bitcoin because everything transactions with Bitcoin is transparent.

There are ways we can make it easy for our customers to send us Bitcoin if we are accepting it for our businesses without making a mistake. They can scan our address from barcode that we paste around our office. When we scan we are not copying and pasting the address that will make us to make mistakes. Scanning is the best way to get an address but we have to be careful too because scammers can replace the business address with their own address without our knowledge. I have not use Bitcoin to repair my car before because I do not have a car and I do not think we have such service available in my country yet but when it gets available and I have gotten my first car, I I'll not mind using it because I love spending Bitcoin like other currency.

But if you have a lot of customers who want to try to pay with Bitcoin, that's in your favor because right now we can say that the price value of bitcoin has dropped a little bit. Don't always sell it; instead, hold it long-term.

How high the bank fees in your country? Huh

I don't think it could be higher than Bitcoin fees if we're talking about daily usage.

Right now the average Bitcoin fees around $2.5 per transaction, I consider it's really high especially if you live in a country where $2.5 is worth of 4 meals.

But, let's see how it goes, you're also show the Bitcoin address here which make anyone can check it anytime.
I'm also thinking about it. Maybe the fees for the bank payment in his country is very high, that's why they are seeking for the alternatives.
The problem is that in my country, bank fees for payments if you have different banks then you will only be charged around $0.5. Meanwhile, if it is a fellow bank, it will be free. And even now there are many gateways to bridge users between banks so that the costs are very small and it is very successful and easy to do, and the transaction also runs quickly. Meanwhile for the use of Bitcoin, it seems it is still above that. That's why at the moment, in some cases, the use of Bitcoin is still low in interest because it is related to fees and transaction times.

However, in my country it is actually not possible to make payments with Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies, it is considered illegal and restricted. So, yes, it will indeed be difficult to implement payments with crypto, unless it is done secretly and there is a special agreement.

~ I decided to add Bitcoin payment as an option~

Hmm, pretty interesting mate!
Believe me, it feels great when someone does such a new anticipated work related to Bitcoin. OP, I really appreciate your work, but there is one thing in my mind that because of the high fee, no one will pay attention to the small transaction, so according to my opinion, if you used BTC SegWit instead of BTC Legacy so it would be nice. Thus, if your business is big, then if you increase the discount from 5%, there is hope that many customers will be attracted to your shop. Whether they know about Bitcion or not, but when they hear that there is a % discount, they will definitely take interest and maybe in the future they will be able to do research on Bitcion and become your regular customer as well as a Bitcoin enthusiast.

Beside, let me focus a little bit in such a way that, as @mk4 said to check the QR code with time, my opinion is that you should enclose this QR code in a good frame and if at a little expense, print it on a glass/plastic sheet, so that no one will be able to change your QR code easily.

My friends dad has a large stake in a restaurant called "The Bite Eatery".  It's not doing so good business wise, so I told my friend to tell his dad:

-Implement a program called "Bite with bitcoin!"
-Let customers pay for their food in bitcoin.
-Reward customers for doing so, somehow.  (like you did with the 5% disc)

He would be a freaking pioneer if he did that, because where I live in the U.S. we don't see much stuff like that and it's a shame!

It's so nice to see you implementing bitcoin into your business the way you did.  Amazing job, and I love the QR code paper!   Cheesy

If I were to accept Bitcoin payments in my brick-and-mortar shop, I would create a vanity address to add my personal touch to the address in question.
- BTW, you might want to consider adding a note to the footer area of the printed paper to mention how network congestion can impact transaction fees.

Hi OP, I really salute you, you are definitely the only paint shop that accepts payments via Bitcoin in your city or even your country, but what I still have a question about is whether it is not a problem in your country to accept payments using Bitcoin? in my country you are not allowed to accept payments via bitcoin because only local fiat is recognized and required, but with Binance Pay or other pay applications, paying with bitcoin and crypto is very safe and easy.
