We have a local tyre repair & fitment centre that also tried this, because they wanted to test if Bitcoin payments were viable and if people would use it.

I was one of their first customers that paid with Bitcoin and it took ages to confirm. I suggested to them to use the Bitcoin Lightning Network, but it was still in it's early stages of implementation... so not a lot of people used it, after they implemented that.

In the end they used third party Payment processors to get people to pay with Bitcoin, which is not the correct way to implement "Bitcoin" payments.  Roll Eyes

I think is high time the all world start using bitcoin for payment everywhere because bank charges is too much everywhere imagine my bank charges me 5 percent of the money I want to transfer

actually what you are talking si about bank payment but what about if using cash comparing to your option? there is no extra charge and since OP's community and costumers seems to be not that knowledgeable about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies?
am sure they are going to consider having cash when they found out about the congestion that mostly our issues about bitcoin users  in which we need to pay  fees, i remember one time need to send 20 dollars and the fee charging me 18 dollars lol.

The great city of God 🔥
After realizing the high bank fees at my PDR repair shop, I decided to add Bitcoin payment as an option. I noticed that my customers were interested in paying with Bitcoin after I put up posters in my shop. Although no transactions have been made yet, many customers ask me about the posters and how to pay with Bitcoin. I'm happy to introduce them to the world of digital currencies. In the past,I've shared my knowledge of Bitcoin with my friends, and I'm delighted to have the opportunity to do the same in my PDR shop  Cheesy

Wow its a welcome development, I believe your country don't have restrictions on bitcoin otherwise you wouldn't  have done this. But any way I appreciate your effort in making bitcoin popular in your country, it is another way of making people to know more about bitcoin and from there they would also know that bitcoin is not only for transaction as most people may feel, but will know the importance of Bitcoin investment and HODLing it for longer period of time due to its volatility and also a great store of value. The only problem there is that bitcoin transaction fee is very high for minimum or lesser  transaction.

What a creative and stress free way of promoting Bitcoin. This will definitely raise the curiosity and eagerness from your customers to know what this new payment method entails. And the 5% discount offer sounds totally attractive, as no one would want to avoid that as there is something to benefit from. Good job  Cool.
Actually with Bitcoin having Higher transaction fees , am not sure if this will really attract them using this
coin but for sure will be better if there are some alts also to be taken for consideration(of course just an option
when the fee is so high for bitcoin and keep BTC as priority)

You have a point here, but considering the fact that most of the customers might be new to it, then they won't really want to dictate about the high tx fees. Those who have stayed longer within the crypto space usually consider factors like this.

A good idea but if the reason for the high bank fees at your PDR workshop is probably you who knows. I see that the option you are offering is a choice option and of course those who already know BTC will be very happy, but if you don't yet, definitely stick with the traditional one.

In general, if it doesn't conflict with existing regulations in your place, I think it's not a problem because it will be binding if it's not implemented, especially if your place of business is already developed, it will also attract attention later in terms of the payment patterns you apply.

They can rebut with that and say that there will be moments that the transaction fees are also high af.

But no worries with that, for small transactions LN should be implemented and everyone is free to use whether LN or bitcoin's blockchain itself for the fees.

A 5% per transaction or even less than that, when you do it in high volumes they're really outrageous to be honest.

@OP congrats and good luck to your garage workshop business. And PDR means paintless dent repair, just saying for those who don't know about that.

That's very good friend, this poster will make your customers start to wonder what Bitcoin is and all its advantages that make you willing to accept payments in the form of Bitcoin. This method is very effective in introducing Bitcoin to other people. You must also be ready to guide customers who want to learn more about Bitcoin. When some of your customers and friends want to learn directly about Bitcoin, you can schedule meetings such as seminars of at least 1 or 2 hours at a time to change their point of view on Bitcoin and increase their knowledge starting from how to get Bitcoin to storing it in a safe place.

Rollbit is for you. Take $RLB token!
It's good for Bitcoin adoption where more stores, services accept payments in bitcoin.

The given 5% discount if customers pay in bitcoin means the car repairing center owner will have to accept 5% loss of income. I don't know how profitable the owner can get with this service but 5% means a lot. The business entrepreneur has to hold bitcoins received from customers for a while to see price grows up 5% or more to cover this discounts on customers.

5% cut from business revenue can be small for big business but with small business, it can be big problem for the business operation.

With all those who shows interest yet they are not Bitcoin users nor even know what is bitcoin and how it works.
though this is a good sign that people might give you a chance receiving bitcoin as payment but remember to
keep yourself safe from abuser and bad elements because exposing yourself as bitcoin users may lure them to hunt you.

Great move by the OP and great that the OP realises that Bitcoin can be an alternative
payment system to FIAT.

At the same time he is validating Bitcoin as reputable by aligning it with his reputable business
and it starts Bitcoin conversations with customers. Its all good!
The conversations about bitcoin is probably enough because that means that words will spread regarding bitcoin and in turn would also give business to OP because people will be interested especially if the word spreads around the people that are already into bitcoin, it's definitely a win no matter what angle you see it for the business of OP, the only problem that I can see is if the government tries to snoop on things at the shop, it's a possibility that they might ask for tax related stuff given that their archaic stereotyping of bitcoin that you might be using bitcoin to evade your taxes.

How I wish that I am near you so that we can have small talks and knowing that my car repairman is another Bitcoin enthusiasts, I'd love to support businesses like this.

I think that it's a great idea. Don't be discouraged if people won't choose this option and keep the sign. Eventually some bitcoiners will come your way and maybe even donate to support your business.
I agree, it might not be easy to stumble upon one real BTC enthusiast and also a customer for him. But the time will come that curious cats are going to ask him about that and how they can enjoy that 5% discount with BTC payment. I guess OP is in a win-win here, he gets to adopt and introduce Bitcoin for the others and that 5% will easily be covered up for his margin when the market goes up and it's a proper timing now. That is because we're going to see Bitcoin hitting new highs after highs due to the bull run. Keep it up OP and never remove that sign and I hope that you make another one that can't easily be destroyed by water and other elements.

I bet they become interested because of the discount Smiley But yeah, the main thing is you get their interest. I also suggest to use bech32 address (native segwit) instead of the legacy one for so many reasons like having smaller transaction fees when you try to transfer your coins from that address. Also, adding lightning for lesser fees for your customers to consider is good.

Wouldn't you get in trouble if you try and avoid the high fees with bitcoin? I'm sure that wherever you're from, the fees are big because they know that they've got the capability to get back at you if you don't pay your due diligence when it comes to your taxes in your businesses. Really cool initiative but as @mocacinno has said, create an address that's got a SegWit address, maybe consider Electrum Wallet as the best one for you, you also might want to teach your clients how to use an exchange and then they can pay you there, they might find that one much easier because of how beginner friendly most exchanges are, that way, it becomes a convenience to them and not a nuisance.

Evil beware: We have waffles!
How do car repairs cost? On average they aren’t that big especially if it’s just minor changes and does not require a whole new change of parts. So I really doubt if many would be keen on paying through bitcoin with very expensive transaction fees if they are just going to be paying a few amount anyway.

Not sure where you live but in the US car repairs ARE expensive. eg, new tires for my Jeep -$800, brake job including a rotor & caliper replacement - $450, radiator replacement - $650, etc.

Considering MasterCard/Visa typically charge between 3-5%, the BTC fees are tiny.

Good on you!

Make sure to check that QR code from time to time though, there will be a day(though probably in the far future) where thieves will be changing the QR codes posted in public with their own wallet QR codes. This has already been happening but only online.
I suggest not having your address just printed out and pasted on the wall like this. Instead, why don’t you prepare a card or a signage that has the qr code but you will only take it out once the customer is paying. It’s very easy to remove your paper and paste it with something else. You can also laminate the card I am talking about so it’s not just a paper.

Nice ideas,

Your offer with 5% discount when making payment transaction trough bitcoin will make many people interested with this kinds of payment but you must use segwit wallet how to make transaction fees lower. Actually your ideas is fantastic with accepted bitcoin as payment transaction for car repairs because directly you have promote to your costumer using bitcoin as digital payment currency transaction. Get offering with bigger discount will make them interested by using bitcoin as payment way but you need guide them how to make transaction with bitcoin and better with the same network of sending bitcoin will make lower fees for transaction.

You can accept payment directly trough exchange of bitcoin wallet with internal sending and not paying fees yet because every time of bitcoin transaction taking around $2 until 10$ for paying fees depend on network.

I think that it's a great idea. Don't be discouraged if people won't choose this option and keep the sign. Eventually some bitcoiners will come your way and maybe even donate to support your business.

With bitcoin payments it's like this: 90% of your clients won't notice or won't care., 9% will ask about it and never do anything, 1% will pay you in bitcoin, but that 1% is so satisfying. Many of these people want to share their interests. They will not only pay you using bitcoin, but will invite you to meetups, maybe offer to promote your business. Small steps my man.

That's great.
This will definitely promote the use of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in your area and even if it's not a lot, it will surely help increase the adoption a little bit. Some people might even start researching Bitcoin and start using it if they see they are getting discounts everywhere for paying with Bitcoin and this can further increase the adoption in your city.

To have no loss in your business, I would suggest that you keep converting the assets you receive in stable coin right after you receive them because the market is usually volatile and you may lose some money if you don't do it on time and the price drops unless you are willing to hold them for long term.
