Argentina vs brazil is, a premature final match. this match should have been the final match. if these two teams from Latin America qualify from the quarter-finals, they will meet in the semifinals. it would be a shame if these two teams had to meet in the semi-finals. But make no mistake, the quarter-final match has not started yet. although the Netherlands and Croatia, do not have a high probability of winning their battle in the quarter-final match. does not mean, they will be easily conquered. on paper, these two teams from Latin America will meet in the semifinals. but what happens later, could be otherwise.

France vs Portugal, a pretty ideal match. but once again I have to say, Marocco is not a team they will beat easily. I'm quite optimistic, Marocco will provide a fierce resistance against Portugal later. as well as, The Three Lions. In terms of team strength, England is a balanced opponent with France. these two teams, have their own advantages, and have the potential to overthrow each other.

If we talk from statistics, on paper France vs Brazil is the ideal team that will compete in the final round later. however, football is not only based on statistical results. that the result will be determined when the match has started. a team that is not too favorite, still has potential and opportunity plus a little luck. let's just enjoy it, when this match is held.

France and Brazil will play the finals, France are very good,likewise Brazil but I strongly believe that Brazil will win France in the finals. My fear for Brazil is that the team is filled with young players and might face difficult challenge to win when they come in clash with a team with experience matured players,just like the way France team are mixed up with both young and matured experience players.

France will do anything to make sure they gets to the final stage. Netherland are good and I love their games but I can't guarantee them winning their semifinal match.

It is my first coming across this topic/thread, and as it is currently, Spain is already of the equation with them being defeated by Morocco yesterday, if I saw this topic earlier than now, I probably would have choose them to advance to the semi finals together with Argentina and Brazil, but then, football is a sport where anything is indeed possible.
Spain suffering a defeat from Morocco yesterday was a surprise to me, right now, it is really hard to predict the team that we will see in the semi finals, but if I am forced to, I would pick Brazil, Argentina, Morocco(if they don't get knocked out In the quarter finals) and, maybe, just many France.

After the game yesterday, I am strongly in favour of seeing the portuguese team on the world cup's final. The portuguese new player generation seems to have a lot to give, so hopefully they'll easily get to the final and if everything goes well we will take the cup home!

Will you have a bet with me that France won't be the champion this time? In fact, I would bet for Portugal to play final vs Brazil (Maybe Argentina) and Portugal will win. Portugal is in quite good rhythm & they are playing a complete football as a team. Apart from the off form (age isn't a number LOL) of Ronaldo, they are walking in the right path. Did you see what Portugal played last night? I believe they will be able to continue this form.

I think these 4 teams are superior to the others, even though there are always millions in the world cup, for some reason I'm sure the 4 teams will meet in the semifinals later and will get rid of their opponents in the quarter finals, I believe Argentina will win the world cup this year

Well... I'm proud to be Croatian! So, of course I'm a big fan of my country's national team. What did you expect? 

As for expectations, I bet Spain didn't expect to be knocked out by Morocco, or Japan to knock Germany out of the group stage. By the way, guess who beat England in the 2018 semi-final? 

Oh no FatFork...are you the only one that is not seeing Brazil at the world cup finals? That is too bad. The only two countries that would have stopped Brazil from getting to the finals are France and England and luckily they will not meet with Brazil unless at the finals.
Even Argentina cannot stop Brazil from getting to thr finals. That Brazilian team is too complete. From the Silva defence to thr Casemiro midfield and to the Neymar attack is so sound.
Don't even make the mistake of betting against Brazil if you are a gambler.

Some semifinalists may come as a surprise; some may not. Either way, I'm rooting for:

In the end, if Argentina passes, they will still meet Brazil, a super strong team, not only Messi will fight for this World Cup, but Neymar and their friends have great abilities, Mbappe is also with his team, Hary Kane is with his team, Ronaldo will also try the best because this might be the last World Cup in Qatar after that he won't be making any more appearances.
So every team has the same mission to bring their title in this competition and our scenario will definitely be different considering that the favorite choices will be different but this is the world cup which is quite interesting from the quarter-finals to the final they will fight each other for the trophy.

At this point , whoever wins between France and England has the first choice but Brazil will make the final in my opinion as I don't see neither Argentina or Portugal to be a problem to have a final between Brazil vs France/England. If this will be the case , I might chose England in this one ...because these squad right here , is the best England had since inception and this generation will end up as a World Cup winner even if it will be in Qatar or USA next or even 8 years from now.

One thing that I've noticed in this world cup is that all the superstars are under-performing a bit. Maybe it's because there's a huge expectation on them, but still...

Many of the best plays and goals have been actually done by players in their twenties, not the superstars which are almost 40.

For example, the first hat trick was done by 21 year old Gonçalo Ramos, replacement of Cristiano Ronaldo, 37.

Messi hasn't been exceptionally good either. He even missed a penalty, and a game with Saudi Arabia...

I keep believing if Argentina will become a winner in this world cup because Messi will try his best to win, this is his last trophy that he need to collect to become a perfect football player. Although every teams will try their best too, but I think Argentina have learn a lesson on their first match where they lose against Saudi Arabia. It must give a big lesson for them to not underestimating any teams.

Brazil and Portugal have the easier draws next so Brazil should beat Croatia and Portugal
should be Morocco. Does anyone see an upset happening there?

The other two draws are tough ones England v France, I think France will come through that
one but the other is going to be close, Netherlands v Argentina, The Netherlands have a
chance to go through to the semi's.

Things are definitely hitting up in the Netherlands, they have been big under-achievers in
many tournaments when there have been big expectations on them

This time the semifinals will be very interesting. From the quarter finals I believe Brazil, Argentina, Portugal and France to reach the semifinals. We can't be judgemental on the semifinals easily. Every match will be that hard as the four teams are in their best position.

Spain had played well until the end of extra time, losing on penalties was not something to be ashamed of, either, one of the superior teams, Spain had come home and Morocco had the right to advance to the next round in the quarter-finals meeting Portugal, it was clear that it was a difficult match for Morocco.

This is still a difficult prediction. On one side, Brazil and Portugal may be the candidates for the next semi-finals. And Argentina - France may be also the candidates for the semi-finals. Between those four, I really hope that Portugal vs Argentina may be in the final, as the gift for the last World Cup for Messi and Ronaldo. But, Brazil and France are not clubs that will be easy to defeat. So, this will be still unpredictable. Portugal this match really plays very well. But other teams are also performing very consistently.

Actually, It is quite surprising when Spain must go home after being defeated by Marocco with penalties goal. But here, Marocco also deserves the victory they have a strong squad and start. I am sure that they are also not easy to beat, moreover, they have confidence after beating Spain.

If I'm the Portugal team I wouldn't be confident that they can past Morroco that easily, the team shows no stops of perseverance. During this World Cup they have a good run and I think momentum was likely on their side by now. But, I am rooting Portugal will pull this up.
