A lot of upsets have had happened in this World Cup. The first surprise for me was Argentina vs Saudi.
But yes, it is without a doubt that Morocco will be the underdog when they face Portugal.
But Portugal should not be very contented as this recent win for Morocco will give them a very good motivation.
Who knows, they can topple a big team and pull off  a surprising result? This is why this event is getting interesting.

Unfortunately for Spain we finally watched a team which was able to give the surprise, Morocco was able to eliminate Spain in penalty shoot-outs, and while we had huge surprises on the group stage this is without a doubt the biggest surprise of all, as it is a completely different thing to win a game to a team that is one of the favorites to win the cup on the group stage of the world cup than to beat them during the knockout stage, today is an historic day for soccer at Morocco as this is the first time they have advanced to the quarterfinals and they will face Portugal next, and while they will most likely be the underdogs again their chances to beat them are not zero.

England had so far played not too strong and not too  formidable team however playing against France will be their first major test which will make or mar their qualification to the semi finals of course I don't think they will defeat france with World class Kylian Mbappe and in-form Giruod spearheading their attack they look unstoppable, meanwhile I am predicting France and Brazil to reach the final in this World Cup provided that they will not met at the semifinals though Brazil lost narrowly to Cameroun without injured playmaker Neymar jr. now that he is back the team is now strong.

Rumors that Neymar is training and may not compete against Korea later, he is not in the line-up list and we really hope for him to strengthen Brazil, but I am optimistic that Brazil will qualify for the game against Korea even without Neymar in the line-up.

My prediction is a little different, Spain will not qualify for the semi-finals, I predict that Argentina vs Brazil and France vs Portugal, the four strongest teams, although France has the opportunity to enter the list for the finals and they must be ready to face Argentina or Brazil in the final match, I can't wait for the list quarter-finals after 3 more matches in round of 16.

My extensive list is close to that. I think we can add Spain here as well. They have a team of very young and talented players. They easily managed to get the results they wanted in the group stage. We have not yet tested them with a strong team. But they are the easiest scoring team of the tournament.

Favorite teams shocked us all with surprising results in the group stage. But we are watching more serious matches in the qualifying stage. At this stage, we did not encounter any surprising results. Argentina, England, France and the Netherlands won their matches. Spain will win tonight in my opinion. I think we will watch a more serious and disciplined Spain tonight. And they will remain among the teams that can win the World Cup in my opinion.

My bias is starting to lean toward France and Brazil. But I want to see how Brazil performs again. If Neymar will play again and is back to his usual form and can remain healthy throughout the remainder of the tournament then Brazil should be able to beat its rivals including Argentina and France. Although I will never take for granted the Argentines knowing they are performing well too except for that Saudi Arabia setback which only happens every 100 years. This is also Messi's last World Cup. The French seem unstoppable too with Mbappe and his fellow stars capable of exploiting every mistake.

My take in the final 4 up to the finals. The semi-finals will be Argentina vs Brazil while France vs Spain on the other side. Then Brazil and France will face each other in the finals. In a 50/50 game, Brazil will barely edge France and win the World Cup.

I think at this point the main teams with the potential to win the world cup are france, england argentina and brazil the one with less chance in my opinion are argentina based on their performance so far and the opponents they faced.

If we talk player data scenario, statistics and ranking. The Netherlands is not the biggest obstacle for a team of Argentina's level. both Holland and Argentina, not here with players as popular as France and Portugal and even England. Argentina only has Messi and D Maria who have big names, while Lautaro Martinez and Julian Alvarez are not too popular for a line of shining star levels.  As for Dybala, so far there is no certainty whether or not he will play in this world cup. Injury problems, too, are rarely exposed to sports media.

on the Netherlands side, the schemes and patterns they played during the group phase were quite readable by ordinary people like us. Van Gal's pattern and strategy scheme, always relying on his midfielders. variants of the Dutch playing pattern are effective when playing against teams below them, but against Ecuador, how difficult it is when the Dutch play very openly.
The Netherlands has a young player who is starting to shine, Cody Gakpo and several names like Depay and De Jong, Van Dijk at the back. On paper, Argentina will beat the Netherlands. However, in football it is not only based on statistics, when on the field it requires readiness, mentality and teamwork that determines victory, plus a little luck.

Croatia today, not Croatia 4 years ago. even if they win against Japan, it will be Brazil who will stop them from advancing to the next stage. even if Portugal wins against Spain, it will be difficult for them to beat England, especially if the opponent is France. For me the World Cup is only getting interesting now when the lesser teams are eliminated.

Of course Brazil can never ignored at any world cup along with the other South American
team Argentina. Based on the Statista.com website the top 3 teams most probable to
win are Brazil, Argentina and France.

From what I gather Brazil and Argentina are relying heavily on both Neymar and Messi,
whereas France have more options, I would pick France.

Also I would love to see Netherlands at least get to the final!

Yes, Messi and Ronaldo cannot be used as a benchmark for their national team to advance to the final and even to win the World Cup at this moment, because in my personal opinion, even though Argentina has many great players in every line, they often get stuck. At least that often makes me lose bets, so my confidence has disappeared for Argentina.
But for Portugal it's something different and Portugal is still better than Argentina in personal terms, but at this moment for some reason I personally don't believe Portugal can reach the final.

But even so I personally still have three teams which are very difficult for me to make a choice of, the three national teams are Brazil, France and Spain. I think these three teams are the strongest candidates for the World Cup title at this moment, but it looks like France and Spain will meet in the semifinals and so I would consider the final match to be Brazil v France.

In my opinion, the main favorites to win this world cup are"

1 - Brazil, without a doubt they are the number one favorites, they have a team with many good players, they don't depend on just one player to win the games, that is their great advantage

2 - France is the second favorite to win the world cup, but the problem is that they depend a lot on mbappe's performance, but without a doubt they are number two to win the world cup

3 - England, they are without a doubt number 3 to win the world cup, england's problem is that they are a little inconsistent, but they have a strong team

4 - Argentina, if they can beat the Netherlands

Based on individual attacking powers, England can eliminate France in that meeting. The attacking strength of England is more powerful than the attacking strength of France. But the attacking strength of France is more dangerous than the attacking strength of England because of Kylian Mbappe. That guy is so deadly and can put out wonders that you wouldn't expect at any time.

I would rather France meet Brazil in the final, but they have to beat England in the quarter-finals later, I'm sure France can give their best game against England later, at least a narrow win is enough to deliver France to qualify for the semifinals

So far France is the biggest favorite for winning the World Cup. Brazil didn't impress at all against Switzerland and they lost against Cameroon. They also have a bunch of injured players. Maybe Brazil can reach the semifinals at least. I don't believe that England is going to achieve something big on this World Cup. The English team played against weaker opponents and won, but they fail at winning against a better opponent most of the time. I can't see how England could possibly win against France. The rest of the teams seem mediocre, even Spain and Portugal.

This will be Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi's last Soccer World Cup, so it would be nice to see them end on a high, with Argentina and Portugal going to the final, but my head is telling me something different.

I think the final is going to be between France and Brazil, with an outside chance for England to come through. I do not know why I have that feeling, but I am going to put my money on it. (Back your gut feeling.... right?) 

The Netherlands this time are really strong, very different if we look at the group stage where they had quite a hard time. So many options that make you confused from some of these candidates, it's just that Germany again gave a bad performance making them have to go home first.

I have the feeling that Argentina will win over Netherlands, but they will have hard time in my opinion.
The bookies are slightly favoring Argentina but it can easily be an upset or a draw if Netherlands step up their game.
Who knows, this is their time to break the cycle or not? 
But with the current game between, England and Senegal, I will go for England here.

I don't know why but I have a feeling that this time the Netherlands will come up on top. And it would be about time too! They have a tradition of botching things at the final, vital moments in the past. Lets see if history will finally break the cycle of repeating itself for the dutchies

Argentina is a very strong opponent. I am betting on the Netherlands but its a bet that makes me very nervous. Too bad Germany is no longer in the running. I would have otherwise bet Germany getting its butt kicked by Argentina.

the Netherlands has had a very good performance since the beginning of this tournament,, I don't even see the potential for the Netherlands to lose but I'm afraid the Netherlands will still bring their curse to the world cup this time, it's a team that has always qualified for the final but has never won the world cup. Actually Messi is the goat here and everyone knows that, even Elon Musk tweeted about Messi being the Goat which was obviously funny many persons which are not even fan of Messi. Argentina is a great country when we talk about football just like we have other countries too like Brazil, Portugal, England and other great football countries.

I hope to see much from the world cup because the winner of the cup is going to be very surprising to know. For now we still don't know who the winner is going to be but if Argentina or any country form Europe wins then that will be very impressive.
