After the end of the group stage i think there are three teams with high chances of winning the world cup based on how well they played and they are argentina , england and brazil they have the players and the performance and seeing the draw table i expect a final between england and brazil.
Before the first stage, we could say Germany could be a big and strong candidate for the world cup, and personally, I would bet on it but I'm shocked and I think my second priority for the world cup winner is England before they played very well so far, against other teams like Iran and scored many goals against them, also players like Kane and Saka are in their excellent form and we can expect good plays from them. However, Brazil can be considered as another chance for the world cup after what we have seen so far.
Before the start of the World Cup, many predicted that Germany and Belgium were candidates for the title of world champion, and those national teams did not even manage to win the knockout phase of the competition.
England is not too convincing for me in this World Cup, regardless of the first game and the great victory against Iran.

What criteria have you made this prediction? I hope you are not only considering that the two key players from the teams will be ending their world cup career after this world cup. If you think that Messi or Ronaldo will lift the cup because they are going to retire, it doesn't work like that. Football is not a game of sympathy, every country want to be the winner of the tournament and so they will evenly struggle it out. France is still good for the cup, they have shown good committment from the beginning. Moreover, kylian mpappe and Antoine Griezmann are fit and leading the attack very well.
the German team in the thread doesn't seem to be the favorite anymore because they didn't qualify for the group and had to go home early

I'm also rooting for other countries like Brazil and Argentina. They have been consistent in almost every WorldCup which always make them on top of the whole season. But to be honest, there are still other strong teams that we shouldn't disregard. There are new countries that are on top of this surprising season.

I see Argentina from the title they won at the 2021 Copa America, they are also currently an unbeaten team for about 32 matches, then Brazil they also have the best players
Argentina and Brazil always are one of best candidates for World Cup title. It is not different in the tournament this year and it's special for Argentina as they just had a unbeaten streak and came very closely to break the current one holds by Italy. Eventually they failed by a shocked defeat with Saudi Arabia. This tournament is special for them because of two more reasons:- They won a first title with Messi in Coppa America and it is a first title for Argentina after many years too.
- It can be a last World Cup for Messi.
Brazil are strong too but the injury of Neymar and some swing defenders can impact them in rest of this tournament.

Germany is a good example that from theory to realistic, things can be very different. Germany was considered as one of strongest team this year and they can win or fail but was out after only three matches is unbelievable.

We have some clear names of strong teams Spain, England,Argentina, Portugal, Netherlands and Brazil . All of them are leading in their tables and are capable of winning title.

This world cup matches are very difficult to predict. We have seen results that are very unbelievable. Imagine Saudi Arabia winning Argentina and Cameroon beating Brazil. I believe in Germany vs. Brazil who qualified for the final this time. 
The list above contains strong teams which makes it difficult to choose a winner. However, Brazil and England tend to have a better chances of wining the game. Brazil won on two outings while England draw to the USA is not favouring to the English team. Argentina on the other hand could win the tournament but losing to Saudi Arabia is not encouraging, yet its not a complete defeat they'll bounce back. looking at Neymar on injury, which may derail strategies for the Brazilian team, though Neymar will heal soon, he may not play superbly as he did before he sustained the injury. I'd say that England is at a better chances of wining the world cup though Brazil is doing perfectly well in this tournament. Let's keep watching.

I think majority of the teams in the world cup asides the ones that you have listed can be considered candidates to win the world cup. Most of teams in the world cup deserved to qualify, fought for their place there and are coming to the world cup to win it, not just to participate even if they have never won it before and are not even considered as winners. As I have always heard that anything is possible in football, we can see maybe another country win the world cup this time around.
Yeah, they are good players because if not then they won't become a candidate to compete in the world cup but it would be better if we will be specific and say the exact name of our picks just like what the op did. This is for other users to see and compare because some of us here are going to place a bet. if the final of the world cup in qatar will meet again these two countries of course this will be a great match because of course Brazil will pay for defeat in the previous final, I think Brazil will again qualify for the final later
As per the current schedule, Brazil need to defeat Argentina in the semi-finals, if they want to proceed to the final (given that both these teams win all their matches until the SF stage). France is placed in Group D, which means that they will most probably face England in the QF stage, and then either Portugal or Belgium in the semi-final stage. The other semi-final will be between Brazil and Argentina. But if one or two upsets happen, then all these assumptions will be wasted. Personally I don't believe that France will reach the SF stage.
