AMD has a blockchain driver for LINUX - but it DOES NOT WORK on the Vega, nor does ANY OTHER driver they currently have available for LINUX that supports OpenCL.
Their non-PRO driver seems to work on Vega, but NOT AMDGPU-PRO which is needed for OpenCL and mining support.
Widely reported, and verified on their own support web site.
In THEORY, this could change at any time - but as of earlier tonight when I checked the primary thread on the subject, it had NOT changed.
The LINUX 17.40 blockchain driver appears to work on RX 4xx/5xx series cards and possibly some of the older GCN cards, but fan control and clock control are VERY primitive at this point.
On the windows side, Large Page support (which is most of what the Blockchain driver stuff was about) has been integrated into the "mainline" drivers since about 17.11, but has issues as mentioned.

I don't believe it's as performant as the Windows drivers, but to say it doesn't exist is entirely incorrect.

The blockchain driver has been integrated into the drivers for at least three revisions. The problem for Vega users is that while there is a dedicated 'Compute' switch for x70/x80 devices, AMD decided to make them 'automatic' for Vega GPUs. This autodetection does work for Ethereum workloads, but has not been fixed for Cryptonight.

Im buying VR set for Christmas and if been wondering if the Games esp FAllout 4 VR will be able to run on Blockchain driver , im sure there will be some issues with VR without proper graphioc drivers but i want to mine also , so If been thinking if i had 2x systems on separte SSDs i could have normal Gprahic drivers on 1 for gaming and on other SDD Blockchain drivers to mine would that work ?
I game on my vega pc with blockchain driver and it works fine.
However i've mostly been playing CS, Wow, League, PUBG.
No clue if i would get more FPS with an actual driver but probably yes.
I cant tell the difference with a 60hz monitor anyway.
Try Adrenaline Edition driver, just being released hours ago. It got switch between gaming and mining mode, but I'm not sure that Cast XMR can detect the change or not.
Still no Compute toggle for RX Vega 64 here.

One of miner asked that why cast xmr is not working on miningpoolhub.
I don't know why. Can you fix this issue?
Or do I have to tweak something? My pool already follows other stratum protocol smoothly.
Last time a tried cast-xmr it worked good with mph. But now I moved to sgminer so can't say about current situation.I'm running miningpoolhub.

use -O flag to set your GPU platform (0, 1, 2, for Intel, Nvidia, AMD; varies depending on which gpus you have installed. I have all 3 in my computer, and use -O2)
use -G flag to set your GPU device (exemple: -G0,1 0,1,2,3,4,5,6, etc)

Now I got some issue, my somebody can help. I use on my rig for now just 2 Rx vega 64.
I got an extremly high rejected quote because of computing error, around 50% over 12h. I run on W10x64 with 12 GB of RAM and Default Clocks for MB and CPU. One GPU is lightly OC like posted.
VRAM ist set to 20Gb.
I used two pools, currently the official ETN pool.
Any idears what to check?
