Cast XMR - Highspeed CryptoNight (Monero/Aeon/Electroneum/Bytecoin) Miner for Radeon RX Vega and RX 470/480/570/580 GPUs

Hi,

Think you have sort kind of bug,
I talk to a lot of miners and they have too.
When we insert --ratewatchdog, the rig after an hours stop hasing in full power, like i show in photo:

https://ibb.co/mApLF8

Anyone too?

One Gpu is ok, but the other not..

Thanks

I had the same problem on one GPU and I had just removed the watchdog and the problem was solved.
Luckily I have never experienced hash drops, so no need for the watchdog.
Some GPU does not like it and may not need it.
good luck!

Been using 1.1.5 for few hours without any problems.
May have got a speed increment from 1.0.0
All reverence Vegas:
Vegas 64    on V7 2050Hs on Heavy 1560Hs
Vegas 54    on V7 1980Hs on Heavy 1420Hs

RX 580 with Hynix memory  920/30Hs on Heavy and 890Hs on V7.
I know some people claim of getting above 1k Hs with the RX580, but those have samsung memory.

Complaining for just 0.5%...
If you do not like the fee just switch to something else.

Oh gawd. Not allowed to have a different opinion now are we? It is just one users opinion, dev is free to listen or not. It is just feedback, not a complaint. Geez...

I partially agree. I've been a fan of CastXMR as it was one of the first CryptoNight miners out there that was really easy to use with my VEGA GPUs. However, with so many new competitive miners out there that also have very active development (like SRB miner), a little decrease in dev fee would probably make me switch back to using Cast.

Just sharing my 2 sats as well..

Glad to see I am not the only one thinking this.

Was surprised to see those posts as I put my point forward respectfully. Cannot understand why anyone would get upset over it.
Same here: I switched to SRBMiner a few weeks ago because of the higher hash rate and lower dev fee.
Please elaborate on SRB higher HS rate and how you get it, because, since I have tested it several times, I am pretty sure is BS.

then you are to dumb to config it properly
I can configure it properly.
I tested it yesterday and today and it is as fast as Cast on RX  580 and not so on the Vegas.
Anyway, most of the times I had only seen claims that SRB is faster or screen shots with similar hash rates that Cast can deliver, or for example just one line claims from morons like you.
Post a screen shot with with an average of hash rates that are faster than Cast, then you can tell to someone that is dumb.

You have to use the command line tool to switch HBCC off?  Why not build it into Cast too?

Been using Cast-XMR pretty much from the first release. Just wanted to chime in and report that 1.1.0 is very unstable for me - the rig just freezes after a few minutes of running. Using W10+Blockchain driver on a 3xVega56+RX580 rig. Once it locks up, the cards stay warm, suggesting they may still be hashing away, but no shares appear to be sent to the pool.

Not sure how to add any further diagnostics info as Cast-XMR doesn't seem to produce any log files...

Downgraded to 1.0 and it seems to be running with no problems.

just add --log to script and voilá Smiley

Regards,
glph3k

Cast XMR Version 1.1.0 (2018/6/1)

- All new --intensity option to specify the memory allocation in the range of 0 to 10, up to 12 for Vega Frontier Edition.
The default setting will correspond with the settings of version 1.0 and are displayed at startup.
- Vega Frontier 'Large Pages' support added, up to 30% higher hash rates for CryptoNight-Heavy, 5% increase for CryptoNight

- Nicehash supports now up to 24 GPUs
- --maxmem option is deprecated, will now be mapped to an corresponding intensity setting
- --forcecompute is deprecated, 'Compute Mode' of Polaris GPUs will be automatically detected. To overwrite use the --intensity option
- Default mining algo changed to CryptoNightV7, to still mine CryptoNight Classic add --algo=0
- Tested with Radeon Adrenalin Driver 18.4.1

Download Cast XMR 1.1.0 for Windows (64bit)

Thank you for this.  I'm getting 1 FE going at 2180 at intensity 11, the other 3 get 1650 at intensity 8, if I bump them up to intensity 9 or 10 they fall to 450, if I set intensity to 11 it crashes.  Any ideas?  I think I'm just being stupid somewhere.  Cards are split into 2 rigs to FE's in each, running win 64.

Edit: Running heavy. algo=2

i dont understand the hype about castxmr at all, if you know how to config other miners like xmrstak, srb,ggs properly castxmr have NEVER been the fastest miner for Vega or other  Amd Gpus
BullShit!
XMRSTAK has never been faster than Cast and hardly any more stable either.
SBR is stable and may be faster, maybe, but very maybe and talking about 10 hs or there about per card.

What bother "some people" about Cast, it is that is not open source, so they cannot pimp it and create their own flawor of it and point the dev fees to their wallets, as they do with STAK or SBR.
That is what it is.

If you are too dumb to understand why people like it over other miners then I don't think anyone is going to waste their time trying to explain it to you.
