@ Pallas : Its fair enough , if you set a price of your work and dedication. Noone wants to work for nothing ...
Would you share some final results , also ?

980ti doing 20 Mh/s with 180W, should reach 25 Mh/s with overclocking.
1070 doing 18.5 Mh/s with 125W.

There might be some more juice to squeeze.

ready to pay for windows miner 0.1 BTC

Try to build it in ubuntu but i get error over error.
If i fix one stone the next popping up..

e512.o -c heavy/cuda_blake512.cu
/usr/bin/gcc-4.9: No such file or directory
Makefile:1772: die Regel für Ziel „heavy/cuda_blake512.o“ scheiterte
make[2]: *** [heavy/cuda_blake512.o] Fe

hm why hardcoded gcc-4.9? is there a away to tell him to use the current one?

I had this error too, just install that gcc, and you'll be fine.

Ok guys let's make a briefing.

I've worked on this project many hours and received less than 0.1 BTC in donations.
Instead, what I've received plenty, are criticisms because I didn't make a windows binary.

Now, I've worked a lot more on this and I could publish the new code, for a >20% improvement.
What do you think I should do?

Put some developer fee to your miner, with option to turn off a fee with decreased speed.
You deserve some beers for your effort, no questions about it.
Ignore the trolls, enjoy their free bumps Cheesy
When you see beers coming, you should start improving other algos too.
It would be fine to have some competition in developing nvidia miners.
That's my 2c.

so the 1070 can reach >25MH if the 980ti can be improved like that, to bad there isn't a working win binary

sp abandoned his compiling on this it seems

Publish your work, make the miner include a 2% dev mining fee. Give the option to turn off the dev fee but make the miner throttle back 15%.

Easy way to get paid for your work  Grin

My only suggestions:
a) Either release it in the open, knowing you'll never get adequately rewarded for your work, or
b) Release it within a private group of folks you trust enough not to leak it, assuming the potential for donations if XCN is back in a profitable situation, or
c) Set a price and sales volume cap, such that by reaching the number of sales that you have set, you stop selling, and so you've sold to a limited group of people that will hopefully be smart enough not to leak it (they paid for it afterall), or
d) Don't sell it at all & don't publish it either. You'll be in a position to mine it yourself at better profits than most, however small the earnings might be. No fuss, no customer support to deal with!  Grin

Personally, I have no interest in the coin, as I was around since its early days, and saw it being too neglected for my taste, only to come back in full pump and dump swing for no reason. I'll rather keep my distance, as money is not everything. I'll anyhow be happy to donate for your work in other areas Pallas, just not this particular one.

Just my 2 cents Pallas. Not meant as judgement or critic in any way, just how I read it...

Hello Pallas,

thanks for your efforts you have made so far, it all starts with a thanks.
You now after 1Week of mining with just one card i have just made 0.01BTC so - atm I'm starting and can't donate what I don't have.
I would of course - maybe u should enable the option to mine for you 1min or so like other for the start - it is acceptable for me.

You know years ago i did kernel patchsets for gentoo..nobody donated or said thanks they just used it and i was happy about they use it :-D
But here we talk about making some profit so lets face it - If i earn something I will also share the benefits I got with the work of others... so given time I will donate for sure. I guess many other starters see it like me.

And to the point critics. My mother thought me from the ground up that criticism is not bad at all. It means usually someone takes time to hassle around with you and takes time to prepare arguments to argue with you.
At least in Germany many people raised that way - that is our culture so I see critic as also something positive that i can use to improve. :-D

I used cuda 8, but also the autotools and gcc so it shouldn't matter for visual studio.
BTW you can't remove heavy.cu, it contains routines used by the main miner procedure.

I also spend one day in trying to compile it..
I setup Windows 7 and VS2013 and all CUDA Libs, also Windows 8.1...

While SP_ last version compiles with just some warning this one won't...hmpf

My Windows build environment is fine again, can compile just about any ccminer fork I tried, setup with VS2013 and Cuda 7.5.
I still can't get past the multitude of issues while trying to compile this one. Will have to put it on hold until further notice, next few days I have no chance of spending any time on it, and even if I had all the time in the world, it looks to be more than I can handle...  Embarrassed
