The transaction confirmed but if you look at,
https://jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/#BTC,2d,fee

It never went into the 12 sat area. Most likely what happened was someone did something called "Child pays parent". And what that does is someone sent that unconfirmed transaction and they raised their fees high enough so the miner decided to pick up the lower fee transaction with the higher "child" transaction and it got confirmed.

Yes, BestChange made a Child-Pays-For-Parent (CPFP) transaction. TXID: 92a0e147e35a5021233eb3a6f134f44dc96ddb757632f8c94b2c3b563434e7d9

It was confirmed in the same block as the parent transaction.

I remember learning about this feature years ago when I got involved with bitcoin and I had stuck transaction. Either way, it confirmed and all is well. Most likely the fees have resumed to their more natural fees and next week this won't be a problem.

I just noticed that the payment for week 173 has been sent since May 10th, but unfortunately it hasn't been confirmed even though it was broadcast 4 days ago.

~snip
I just noticed that the transaction has already been confirmed. After only 5 days, and no one even left from Best_Change signature campaign without waiting for it. Wink

All participants can breathe a sigh of relief. Grin
I'm happy with some of the feedback allowing the manager to have a good choice although I didn't expect my question about the accelerator to be taken as a complaint. Transaction fee increased and maybe the manager needs adjustments including some final suggestions which I agree with. Yes, it was about the wallet - and I would consider changing wallets if the manager asked all participants to do so.

I mean you should be patient.

Why? Because the manager decided to save on transactions and pay 12 sat at a time when the commission was 300-400 sat per 1 byte? Not a single forum campaign puts such commissions on payment to its participants, everyone is trying to find compromises.

The campaign is one of the best and longest on the forum, but the manager cannot afford to pay an extra 20-30 bucks for a transaction? This somehow does not fit with the status of an elite campaign, which is attributed to this campaign.
I see that participants from other campaigns are really worried about what is happening in this thread and are worried about our payouts. How nice, thank you .Wink

In general, Ratimov's statements are very accurate and compromises would be the best solution.

BestChange signature campaign seems to be having a series of minor troubles lately, which I am sure will be eliminated and will not affect their future fate. The status of an elite campaign is impossible if don't keep at a certain high level.

I remember in the past that their wallet did not support bc1 while most wallets was supporting those addresses.
I think it will be appropriate at a time like this for BestChange to mandate its signature participants to have a wallet change to SegWit. I'm all for anything that will make this Blockchain nightmare go away.
Participants themselves should think about it after this week and it should not be difficult to change the address to bc1-format. 5 of the 25 participants didn't have any difficulty, right.

P.S. Best_Change manager, forgive us that we made a mix of a discussion with a delay in transaction confirmation (as well as related issues) and users applications for a place in the BestChange signature campaign. This created a bit of extra hassle for you.

It seems to me that most of the participants were sympathetic to what happened (Is it so?), but it was necessary to speak out. Otherwise, why do we need a forum, if not for discussion.

Royse777 thank you for this advice. It is one of the nicest words I have received today. It might not sound like the truth but every word from this counsel is true. Every forum member should seek alternative means of income because nothing in life is permanent. We know that the economic situation of some countries is not palatable but there should be a way out. An online job, a small business, and a full-time job will assist you. I know there are many challenges but with determination and sacrifice, we can always win.

Another good financial advice is to hodl some percentage of your campaign funds until the bull run. Don't stress yourself and your family if you can't afford to save but try to hodl no matter how small.

- And they lived happily forever -
- The End -

This all sounds like a fairy tale, in an ideal world where good always wins.
Unfortunately, the reality is something completely different. Neither will it be the end of the world, nor will anyone die of hunger if the signature campaign stops working. There are a lot of possibilities outside of all that.

Now we have already gone off-topic, this is the thread of a very reputable campaign, which by the way has an open slot for a new member. Let's leave this thread to its own purpose.  Wink

No one is blaming anyone, but it is strange for a manager to pretend that nothing happened on the bitcoin network and send the same fees as before. Nevertheless, such moments must be taken into account when forming payments to their participants. Indeed, the campaign lasts 174 weeks and pays weekly $2.5k-$3k to its members, but can't pay the $25 commission instead of $5. It's really weird.
The reason is not necessarily to save fees costs, but rather a use of a bad Software in estimating the fees or there is no option to edit fees. I remember in the past that their wallet did not support bc1 while most wallets was supporting those addresses.
It is not limited to this service, but rather a lot of services and even some exchanges do not update their programs annually and therefore there is no choice to edit fees.

Can you please bump up the transaction fee? I think it will take ages for this transaction to get confirmed because fees go crazy sometimes.
Just did a CPFP, so hopefully, that would do the job without Royse777 bumping the fee: https://www.blockchain.com/explorer/transactions/btc/3a5978099ea12d161f7f3b9901010c9ee4959d142ce0842ff8a8b36048661117

Sometimes I wonder, you are in bitcoin, you are in a signature campaign for months, for years, for decades but when there is a few days delay to receive your payment or even to get the first confirmation a lot of you start to panic as if you are losing all of your life savings. I get it all the time from some of the members on my telegram group. Other day when SFR10 bumped the fees, I am sure he did that because he saw some of these people were panicking.

If people are really depending on the payments from signature campaigns they are in then I see a good chance for these people to have a huge financial crisis when there will be no way to earn money from this forum.

My suggestion is that, create a business of your own, of you own management, of your own platform while you are bringing food to your mouth from signature campaigns because tomorrow when the forum will disable signature space from users profile then you will become homeless.

Mempool.space seems to recommend a 19 sat/vB fee for low priority [it has been lower than in previous days], but that transaction has a 12 sat/vB fee. Just wondering, apart from being patient waiting for the fee to down lower, can accelerator also help in this case?

Accelerators cannot help in this case, until the fee is below 12 sat/vB. At the moment I am writing this, it is currently on the ~16 sat/v, so if this trend continues, there is a possibility that it will be realized in the next few hours. Try to accelerate this tx once when the fee is below 12sat/v.
What can be difficult is that Monday is coming, so there will be more new transactions that can raise the fee. At least as far as I have noticed, the cheapest transactions were always Saturday/Sunday.

I will leave this "always updated bitcoin fees image from mempool.space" created by bitmover, to facilitate your check

I wouldn't lightly "accuse" a proven and one of the longest-running campaigns that they wanted to save $20 or $30 here. I am quite sure that it was not their intention to cause a delay in payment to 25 participants due to such an amount.

As far as I know, it is even more complicated for them that they have many inputs for these Bitcoins they send, plus everything goes through the legacy address.

I will agree because I do not want to be self-centered, nobody will like delay. I noticed that some addresses are still legacy addresses, about 13 of the addresses, while some of the addresses are nested segwit. Only few are native segwit. With native segwit, you can save more than 42% on fee, while up to 50% as the inputs and outputs are increasing like in Bestchange transaction. I mean if native segwit is compared to legacy, while native segwit transaction is also cheaper than nested segwit.

It is just an advice, as Bestchange is accepting native segwit addresses already, native segwit addresses can be requested from all Bestchange campaign participants which will also help because the fee rate used would have been higher if Bestchange is sending to native segwit addresses and the chance of the transaction to get confirmation would have been higher. Also the fee can be increased, but this is left to Bestchange.

It's because the transaction fee is at around 11.8 sats/vbyte. I think we should practice patience as a virtue, especially with brands like BestChange. They have been with us here through thick and thin. The mempool is slowly but surely normalizing. Today I had some of my 15 sats/vB transactions get confirmed, this was only a dream a couple of days back.

Transaction "accelerators" like the one you suggested don't actually work. They just rebroadcast the transactions into the network. Not including them, it in the next block

ViaBTC would work in this case, but the transaction is above the maximum transaction size (0.5KB) required for the free transaction accelerator.

The transaction support RBF, which means the fee rate can be increased to 20 - 25 sat/vbyte. Assuming if the fee rate is around 17 to 20 sat/vbyte, it would have been confirmed.

But just that I remember we use to be patient in time like this when I was in Bestchange campaign. I mean you should be patient.
