Topic: Charles-Tim merit source application + Nigerian local board (Read 1848 times)

The Nigerian board has 2 merit source and one moderator, but the merits allocation for the both of them is too small. And I suggest that Theymos should increase the merits for the 2 merit source we have on the Nigerian LB.
And this is what Igebotz said earlier.
However, he should try and approve Charles tim's merit source application, even if he won't be a LB merit source, besides he's a good poster.

He's fit for both side IMO,maybe that's why he added + LB and maybe one out of the two get considered (can't really say  his opinion on this ) but I know he will be a good merit source if also considered by theymos so I'm also in support of his application.

Charles Tim is a very good contributor in the forum both in the technical board, local and other boards, I've literally seen him almost everywhere I breeze in, but mostly in the technical board, however I think the technical board has a lot of merit sources and if I'm Theymos, I wouldn't be considering another there.

I really think Charles Tim should focus more now on the local board and help people grow there so his impact can be felt the more on the board because that's a better place for consideration of merit source based on the scarcity of merit sources there. His dream is more achievable there in my own evaluation.

I think it is good you focus on one side so that the admin will know that that is the area your applying to be a merit source. And when you say the two boards then that becomes a divided mindset which can lead to confusion of the admin and probably this might be the case Igebotz was given the job of merit source because he specifically stated as the the merit source of the Local Board. But yours is local board plus TB or general board. You have to be specific.
Where do you really like to be a merit source? There are sometimes things that are not important for us, are important for the management because they have to k ow your area of interest so you have to present those unmerited posts and they work with that... Please don't swim in the ocean with you merit source application and be specific like others.

I just crossed read your application and all the sentences and statements there is for the general board and not in the Technical Board or the local board but only your examples are cut across the board. Your topic needs to be restructure to the examples of the application and also your content needs to be locally stated or technically stated but depends on the place your interest is. But looking at your last statement,  your interest is still on the Technical Board then you have to edit your topic. Probably these are some of the things you need to do to achieve your purpose.

Technical board is popular among merits source and almost every active high ranking member on the TB is merit source unless for a few of them like Charles Tim who is not a merits source yet but very active on that board, although allocating him to other board such as local board will help alot and also just as a general board merits Source.


Igebotz may have a point as for how focusing on LB can facilitate the approval of this request faster, but still at that you just keep being active and in short while from now the request may be considered, until then, keep being a good quality member of the forum Charles.

While we await their response to your request, I would appreciate it if you could report those unmerited posts on the local board, either directly or indirectly, so that I may take the necessary action. The board is too wide, and it is common for a few good posts to be hidden under the dust.

Small print: there are too many merit source on the TB than any other board. Full focus on the local board maybe? Best of luck bro...

CryptopreneurBrainboss was the only merit source that was posting on Nigerian local board before until Igebotz become a moderator and theymos also made him merit source. We have just two merit sources on Nigeria local board.

If I continue to be an active poster on this forum, I definitely know that one day theymos will make me a merit source.

It may be late because theymos might have noticed that I am active on technical board also which I often merit people there. But not that I do not also see quality posts on Nigeria local board but people their have not been helpful to me like the technical board which makes me decide to send most smerits to people that have quality posts but more quality posts on the technical boards.

Because I am also active on Nigeria local board, I decided also to apply for merit source for both (I mean the English and the Nigerian local board) with two separate posts. At least, if Nigerians are not sending merit to me, I will still have enough merit to send them if I am a merit source which will encourage posting quality to increase on the board. I still see enough posts that are not given merit on the local board. Also I see enough quality posts on English boards which have no merits.

At this point, I don’t think it’s a matter of qualification because Charles-Tim has been a top contributor from his early days both in the local community and the general board. Approving a merit source is not something that Theymos does very often, just look at the number of qualified merit source applications that have been lying around for years, some as old as this one and others even more. Right now, I think the Nigerian local board has 3 merit source applications I hope Theymos will grant at least one of them.

The application may have lasted for 3 years without approval, but I am sure that in the near future chances and opportunity is going to place Charles in a position where his application will receive the needed attention, but when and how that will happen is what no one can tell so he need to remain actively committed to the forum so that when his application become approved or being considered he won't be lacking behind.

It’s really been long but i believe theymos has his reasons for delaying the approval, probably he felt Charlse-Tim was not qualified yet as at the time of request but i think now he is more than qualified to become a merit source, he is a useful contributor to the bitcoin community and for years he has proven himself to be a good and dedicated member of the forum. If he is destined to be a merit source some day it will happen, it can only take long but it will definitely happen. Since i joined the forum Charlse-Tim has be a member i look up to he is among some members that inspired me, he has my full support and i hope his application will be considered.

Despite Charles-Tim application to become a merits source in the forum has not been accepted yet,  this is 3 years he applied for merits source, and he is still more committed to the forum which many users have testified about his impact to the users, and he has done a lot of good contribution to Nigeria local board also to make it improve in quality post and other things. I support Charles-Tim application which I know it will bring more development to the forum.

Honestly.. surfing every board and child board just to find an interesting discussion this days happens to be a rare opportunity. Every single contribution matters alot - That's exactly the same reason why I decided to not hold my self-made topics.

Charles has been a respected and very useful member, mentor and adviser on the technical discussion board and far wide. He's also been very effective in circulating merits across informative threads - atleast I can attest to the ones I've read.

All throughout my days here in this forum, right from my newbie stage to this very point, I have always enjoyed reading Charles Tim comments and thread's and also I have seen alot of thread created by Charles that have helped alot forum members to solve one or two problems both in the general board and the technical board, and for sure if Charles Tim become a merits source he is going to be a great asset to this board's mentioned and also to his Naija local even though we already have a merits source assign to that local board but I am still sure that Charles Tim will definitely be spreading his merits allocation accross those boards he is active on and be rest assured that he will keep being one of the most merits givers since he is active on most boards.

And with the recent decline in the number of of active merits source, Picking Charles Tim will be one of the action theymos will take to refresh the merit system and network considering now that we need more merits in the forum, because of merits scarcity, I wish theymos should look into this application and to take action on it if he fines all the comments and application convincing to be considered.
Charles Tim I urge you to keep updating this thread to keep it at the top of the board, and also to followup with your communication with the admin, don't give and also community members won't give up in supporting your application to become a merits source, Goodluck.

Hopefully not others but I guess it's me only see that there are not much activities in different boards these days. Forum members seems lacking discussion topics. Personally when I am spending time, I do not find enough topics to engage in discussions while I was spending hours after hours in the community and enjoyed the time.

Anyway, Charles-Tim is a valuable forum member and he can be a good source of merit for general boards too not only his local Nigerian board.

Of a Truth Charles-tim have been one of the most contributive and active user of the Nigerian local board and of which he can be able to identify a meritable post when he sees one and considering the fact that the Nigerian local board have been increasing in activity and quality contributions to the forum actually deserves merit sources added to the few they have already and since the existing merit sources do not have much merit allocations, it will be a kinda difficult to go through all meritable post of high quality.

Charles-tim is a high profile poster of which the community is aware of, therefore he will make a good merit source since he is a quality poster he can also give merit to post he finds good quality in them. I solicit in solidarity with other forum users and members of the Nigerian local board that @legendary Charles-tim be given the privilege of being among the Merit sources and I believe he will make a good merit source and circulate merits without fear of favour and unbiased mindset.

Few months from now this application will hit 4 years and to conclude, I'm in support of this application with hundred and one percent. Charles tim has been a good and active poster of our Nigerian local board and it will of good and help to us all if his request is granted.

Nigeria local board is really trying in the forum and the major thing we need there is merit sources. And if Nigeria board have these two Merit Source Applications then the board more and compete with other top 2 local boards in the forum. There are quality threads but no Merit and that caused some of the quality posters withdrew themselves from posting in the local board but if there are more M. Sources in the board more participants will Co e to the board and participate actively.

Charles-Tim is one the best and committed participant in the board and users have created a lot of quality threads but no Merits to give, therefore, we need these two Merit Sources in the local board. Therefore, We all Nigerians appeal Sir theymos to approve these two applications for the merit sources. Igebotz and Charles-Tim.

This application is overdue. Charles-Tim has really helped and contributed a lot in the forum. He has educated people about bitcoin and wallets so if Charles-Tim is seeking to be a local merit source, I support it with all my heart. Really Nigeria local board needs fully equipped merit sources. The users in the local board is over powering the present merit source we have and the merit allocation to the present source very much few that can not Merit good 3 to 4 posts. Nigerian have a diverse language's and the language is been speak according to the geopolitical region and it breaks down into three official language's, so therefore Nigerian is a country of multiple language's and that is pidgin English is been introduced to country, and it's obvious that the pidgin English is been mixed with English language before it can be well understood.

When you take a good look at Nigeria board you know that they seriously need at least merits sources and I have seen that one Nigerian have applied for merit sources and it has not been approved and when looking at it you will see that many Nigerians lacks growths because their is no merit sources in the board that's except brainboss and that's while many of Nigerian lacks growths, I think forum have to look it very and approve a merit sources in nigeria board.

Yes, the board needs it and "desperately" so. You can check merit distribution in the Nigeria local board. It will hit you how scarcely merits are distributed to worthy posts, most of the posts don't even get any at all. Those you see above Full Members could've risen to Legendary too.
