ASUS RX 470 underclocked 1100 core 1800 mem

540 H/s

140W from wall with EVGA 1000W G2, Celeron Dual core, ASrock H97 Mobo. ETH + SC uses about 180W.

Does Monero like fast memory? High core clocks?
Does anyone have some good Wattman settings for RX 480 mining XMR? I am making around 720 hs with memory over clocked to 2200 but its not stable.

Hello. When I mine at Nicehash I got this error time to time:

18:52:30:073   10a0   Error in server response
: {"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"error":{"code":24,"message":"Unauthorizedworker"}}

Haven't this error when mining with -nofee option or at dwarfpool

And is it possible to make switching between pools from pool.txt without restarting miner?

Hi Claymore,

In your FAQ: 2MB per hash is the guide for the -h switch.

So for MSI R9 390 8GB GPU, would it be correct to set the -h as follows:
8GB=8000MB (8192MB to be exact)
h = 8192 / 2 = 4096 hash/s
so -h 4096 ?
Also what is the difference of -a 1 and -a 4 ?
The 390 seems to like -a 4 better than 1
Currently I set the miner to drive the 390 at -h 1376 (same settings for 290x 4GB)
but I am tempted to use 1376 x 2 = 2752 since 390 has twice the amount of memory than 290/290x
Your advise?
Thanks

If GPU has 8GB memory it does not mean that the fastest mode is to use all its memory. It will stuck with memory access.
For 290x/390x use "-h 1376", for 290/390 use "-h 1280". Miner does it automatically if you don't specify "-h" option.
Select best "-a" by checking hashrates and power consumption (if you necessary) for every "-a" value.

thanks - will follow this rule.

btw, will you be adding XMR miner under monitoring utility just like in your ETH dual miner?

understand that ETH and XMR are memory intensive coins, so they may not make a good pair, however.... given profitability of the two coins is good currently, perhaps XMR + 2nd coin will make sense, just like in CDM.

Your thoughts?

Thanks

Hi,
i read (i guess it was in this thread) that the memory latency is the important factor by mining XMR.
Sorry if this was written before but my question is: Is there a indicator on graphics cards to estimate the mem.-latency or the hash rate? Anything with what you can say how a GC performs?

thx in advance

Late last year, I wanted to build an ETH rig, so.... 6 x 390s but need needed 2 x PSU - which I was not comfortable with.
So only 5 x 390s and underclocking was the answer, just under 1400-1500watts - so within the ratings of my PSU which is a 1600w EVGA-G2 - amazing PSU but very good but very pricey.

I was an early adopter of CDM and this rig 5 x MSI 390 consistently does 150MHs at ethpool - rock stable - very happy.
Converting the same rig to Claymore's XMR miner did not disappoint too - works like a champ!

If I have to do it all over again, 700-800watts max PSU, maybe a 4 x GPU rig with 150w or better TDM, is ideal.

Btw, Heliox has a ROM mod for 390 too  Grin

I'm kinda will stop with flashing for a while Smiley

My mixed rig gives me 3500 Hs with 940W from the wall, so RX 480 is quite a good card for it

For 390 = -100mV, 1050 core, 1125 memory = 30MHs in CDM mining only ETH

Used the same AB settings for XMR with CCGM = solid performance 3758h/s ( 5 x MSI R9-390)

Thank you citronick - you are always helpful!

Probably rig with 5x R9 390 gives you ~1700W?

Claymore's CryptoNote GPU Miner v9.5

280x - ~64% load ,have a day works,win8.1x64 ,15.12  Huh

If you set power limit to like -50% gpu usage will go to 100%, but hashrate wont change. (I used MSI afterburn)

OK. thank

Stats:

2x R9 390 and 3x RX 480

Total is 3570 Hs

Power consumption is 940W by killowatt

R9 390 are downvolted -100mV and OC to 1075MHz
1x rx 480 is stock
2x rx 480 are flashed with Heliox rom (which does not work with my cards)

I used the default command line - any suggestions on tuning rig performance are welcome

Rig ID should be numbers only.

Fuck - mine were letters

Now of course it works!

Thank you - appreciate your help!

Strange, mine worked until I started mining to NH. Here is my bat, stat should still be up on dwarfpool.

NsGpuCNMiner.exe -o stratum+tcp://xmr-usa.dwarfpool.com:8050 -u 47sghzufGhJJDQEbScMCwVBimTuq6L5JiRixD8VeGbpjCTA12noXmi4ZyBZLc99e66NtnKff34fHsGR oyZk3ES1s1V4QVcB.paymentID.1 -p x

Do I need a space in address after GR?

Otherwise my bat looks identical to yours

No spaces, it is there probably because of me copy and pasting. Rig ID should be numbers only.

Try this, should work

NsGpuCNMiner.exe -o -o stratum+tcp://xmr-usa.dwarfpool.com:8050 -u WALLET.Payment-ID.Worker-ID -p x

No - it does not work

Actually second -o appears when I inserted line here - it was not in original line I've used to start the miner

I think solution is quite simple - so need help from miners who use dwarfpool and wallet from Polo

Of course.
Just don't forget to add your payment id after dot...
It should look like wallet.paymentid.yourworker

Does not work:

NsGpuCNMiner.exe -o -o stratum+tcp://xmr-usa.dwarfpool.com:8050 -u WALLET.Payment-ID.Worker-ID -p x

invalid address used for login
