What exactly is the motivation to pay interest on deposits?  Is it just to attract more customers?  That's the only reason I can see to implement this system.

I like the whole referral system and new interest payment idea, its original and unique to this exchange.

I think the problems earlier in the year did a lot of damage to Vicurex's reputation, but they finally seem to be recovering from those issues.

P.S. Storing larger amounts of coins on an exchange is not a good idea.

Has anybody gotten an interest payment yet?

Yes, I got some small amount like a buck or something... I'l take it!

A buck per BTC every 6 hours?  Sounds pretty decent to me.

how long does it take to get any kind of email from vircurex?  I've tried to setup a new account.. no email confirmation.
Tried to remember a password I had for a long ago forgotten account, no password reset email.

Yes I've checked spam too.

I've heard plenty of feedback of people not being able to register lately... I assume they are just overloaded lately, so try try again... with my referral link Wink

Just a warning that the create_order API still seems to be malfunctioning (despite news saying it is fixed). I placed and released 5 orders, history shows about 50. Same behavior as before, it is turning one request into multiple duplicate orders for some reason.

I can't get the Vircurex API to work any more.  I have tried multiple programming languages including Java, Perl, and JavaScript, as well as trying to access directly with openssl.  There seem to be certificate errors causing the problems, or else problems because of CloudFlare.

The only way I can access the API is to craft a URL and put it into my browser, then look for the info I want.  Which obviously defeats the purpose of having an API.

Any suggestions?  What are other people using?

I believe the API is currently down for maintenance, which one assumes is the issuing you're experiencing.

Cheers.

No, it works fine from my browser.  I just can't write programs to use it that way.

For example, I can access the following link in my browser, but I can't seem to write a program in any language that can successfully access this link so I can parse and use the data:
https://vircurex.com/api/orderbook.json?base=BTC&alt=USD

The create_order API method was down for awhile earlier today, but the latest news says it's back up.

Yes, I saw that error.

Looking more closely it seems my BTC balance has gone down by the ~1400 small orders the API claims I've executed. I actually placed around 2 or 3.

I'll repeat that again. I placed 2 or 3 orders, history says I placed around 1400.

Have received several emails so far confirming the execution of the orders. BTC balance has gone down, but USD balance has not gone up.

"This website is under heavy load

We're sorry, too many people are accessing this website at the same time. We're working on this problem. Please try again later."

whats happening with VIRCUREX atm is it really buckling under the load or is someone DDOSing it?

doesn't look like the volume is up all that much today...

It's getting worse.

The API seems to be duplicating order requests (according to the history my bot was placing orders at the rate of around 18 per second - impossible) and two orders I just tried online did not release, returning an error, but also did not REFUND the amount taken from my balance for the orders. At this point it's like the order half executed. I hope this discrepancy gets corrected. No point emailing support as it will take days to respond.

5 Dec 2013 - API for creating orders disabled NEW
There was a technical error which we believe is related to the API call create_order. We have temporarily disabled it while we analyze the issue.

so i have more than 1 BTC at vircurex. where do i see the fee share payments now???

https://vircurex.com/accounts/history

I didn't see any interest payments yesterday.

Should be visible now, the interest calculation job is now auto scheduled every 6 hours, previously we triggered it manually and then verified the account postings.

Has anybody gotten an interest payment yet?  How much did you get per BTC?

Not complaining, but in case this is helpful: I don't see any interest payments in my history... not that I need to.  I'm ok with my balances randomly going up, heh.

But I haven't been monitoring to see if that's happening.

I have some NMC stored on Vircurex and some on another exchange. Am I able to move my NMC from Vircurex to the other exchange directly through the website? Or do I have to transfer to a local client first?

Am I better off trading into BTC then moving that locally... then onto the other exchange?

What are my options for removing my DVC?

Thanks.

Perhaps a quick lesson in how transactions work is in store.

When you send cryptocurrencies from one address to another, that's all your doing.  There's nothing magic about where the address's private key is stored.

So can you withdraw nmc from Vircurex?  - Yes

can you deposit to other exchanges such as Cryptsy? - Yes

Therefore you can transfer directly from one website to the other becauase both sites allow you to send coins from one address to another, and that's no different from home wallet functionality.

Hope this helps.
