And then there's toaster ovens.

What is this used for? The translation seems to mean a kitchen machine. Do you mean such thing to use it somehow in the process?

I think i read somewhere that you can use it to crudely solder(?) seems retarded to me but i know jack shit.

Sounds dangerous for the hardware... but at the end... if its doable and cheap...
A toaster oven is the poor hobbyist's version of the commercial reflow oven. Google "reflow oven" and hit the images page for a show. As long as you are careful and follow instructions described by a good tutorial, where you calibrate your oven, it shouldn't be dangerous. It's how all factories solder boards today. I have an SMD workstation so will do mine by hand.

I want another 20 but don't have enough bitcoin now. It's astonishing how fast these are being scooped up.

I am not sure if I should purchase chips from Zefir and have them forwarded to burnin or if burnin will acquire the chips for me. Waiting on a response back from burnin.

Zefir has mentioned before he can forward them directly to burnin Smiley

Ok, in that case just waiting on a little bit of info from burnin before I pull the trigger.

edit: If burnin's information is satisfactory I expect I'll be in for 200 chips @ 17.2 BTC.

Yeah, for production you wouldn't want sockets, but for prototyping, wouldn't having that be handy?

Or would the added wire length destroy the quality of that 282MHz signaling?

Just loved to have the knowledge to know what to do with those chips and how to solder BGA without a skittle... :p

They're QFN48, I believe, which is a hell of a lot easier to solder. You can even get sockets for those and plug them into a breadboard.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/QFN48-MLF48-QFN-Programming-Adapter-Plastronics-48QN50K17070-7x7-IC-Test-Socket-/251261459301
That's a testing/prototyping socket. You don't want to use those for this. For one thing you'll likely have trouble with clock signalling, plus they're super expensive. PLCC is easy to socket cheaply but not QFN. Soldering is not really a problem but ideally you should have an SMD station rather than a soldering iron. Or go to a mobile phone repair shop and have them do it for a small fee. They always have SMD stations. And then there's toaster ovens.

============================================================
Remaining:   380

There are 380 chips remaining in this batch. When those are filled up and still more demand, I'll order the next batch as soon as the 782.1 coins are collected. Payments after the cut-off line will be moved to next batch (which will follow 3 days after the initial one). If funds don't reach threshold for an additional batch, orders cut-off will be returned after the order window closes.

I'm waiting for burnin to answer me about the cost of the final product as I don't have idea how to build it from chips. If that's ok, I'm in for 100-200.
