eleuthria,

Have you considered lowering PPLNS fees to attract more miners?

GHash.IO appears to be growing at an alarming rate.

https://blockchain.info/pools?timespan=24hrs

A huge majority of GHash.IO's speed is from their private farm.  They are the largest single miner in the network at this point.  Their service has been unreliable and support is non-existant, mostly because they have no incentive to actually keep their public pool operating smoothly.  BTC Guild isn't going to compete with someone like that.

NMC payouts are now back and running.  They've been updated to now payout the highest multiple of your threshold (IE:  Set your threshold to 0.10, if you have 0.23, it'll pay 0.20).  BTC payouts will *offer* this method of automatic payouts in the near future, but the default will still pay the amount you set as your Auto Payout threshold.

NMC earnings are expected to return in roughly 24 hours.

Michael, did you see my post about the possible addition of payout settings. Didn't know you were already in the mix of changing code, this is along the same lines.

Specific time payouts aren't currently on the list of things being tweaked.  It may come later.  I'm in the process of moving over the next week and a half, so I'm trying to pick my battles carefully.

3 batches of NMC payouts were just sent out to see if that has any affect on the payout node getting stuck on an orphaned chain.  Additional namecoin earnings are still disabled for at least 24 hours to keep an eye on the status of all the nodes.

Hi,
I noted that the last 4 shift are reporting 0 block in the PPLNS page:
https://www.btcguild.com/index.php?page=pplns

Is this normal? Also, it seems that the reported block sometime rise between 20 and 23, but then it
drops to between 9 and 16.

Is this normal o is because of the difficulty, luck or roaming/hop users?

Thanks
Oliver

It's normal. Look at the luck chart on the bottom of the PPLNS Stats page.

Just a reminder (since it has been a few months since the last time most servers were restarted):  Check to make sure your miners aren't doing something stupid, ESPECIALLY if they use the slush stratum proxy.   If you have idle warnings and an email on your account you'd be notified but many users never register an email to receive them.

Is it normal for the diff. to vary using slush's proxy? I noticed I'm down to 16, I have my min. set to 4 for my worker, should I keep it at 32 for my 4 blades?

Also, I didn't realize we had to add the email for the notifications, I thought that was done when we registered. Fixed and done.

Nope, emails aren't part of registration, so it can't be added when you register Smiley.

As for difficulty, it is increased by variable difficulty if your minimum difficulty is not high enough for the hash rate of your connection.  When pointing multiple machines at one proxy, the total speed of all hardware pointed at the proxy is used for vardiff (since stratum defines difficulty per connection, not worker).

Shows how much I paid attention when I registered.

I think I understand it a little better, thanks.

Speaking of slush stratum proxy ... I had an older version that sorta kinda worked most of the time.  I was about to give up on it when I thought to check to see if there's a newer version.  The latest version is a lot more stable and seems to behave itself much better.  So if you're having stratum proxy oddness, check for an update. Thanks for menting that, I ended up have to recompile, I forgot I did a kernel upgrade last week.

NMC wallet checks should be working again in the next few minutes.  Payments/earnings are going to be paused for at a minimum 24 hours, since 50% of my nodes were stuck on random blocks when I woke up this morning due to something broken in the hardfork block checking.  Normally just earnings would stop, but the *payment* namecoind also got stuck during these issues.

No worries. Thanks for all the hard work eleuthria.  I will probably check back on the NMC in a few days.

I am having a problem adding my BTC-E namecoin address into my NMC payout field in the settings menus.

When I add the address in, and click "Change" it comes back with this error:  "There wallet address you entered was not a valid Bitcoin address. Please try again."

And it will not change.

Any suggestions?

I don't want to insult you but I did the same thing, copied the wrong address, could always generate a new nmc address on btc-e and try that.

Not insulting at all.
I have triple checked that I am using the NMC field in BTC-E.  I also triple checked that I am copying the correct address.  However, I cannot generate a new address because I have never used this address.

This is exactly what it says:

Your address for deposit NMC:
N6bU35BJdKxhD3ctU5FC7rtWRVLyzieMyy

If I copy and paste that exactly into BTC Guild namecoin field it errors out.

Maybe this has something to do with it:

Namecoin Hardfork Issues
There have been some problems with nodes randomly losing sync with the namecoin blockchain after the hardfork update. Namecoin payouts and earnings are temporarily paused as a result. This post will be updated once the exact cause of the problem is identified. Bitcoin earnings/payouts are unaffected.

Thats very possible.  I will just hold off until the NMC issues have been took care of.  No rush on them for me.

be sure that you aren't including a space at the end or a Ret.
