Think for yourself
I am having a problem adding my BTC-E namecoin address into my NMC payout field in the settings menus.

When I add the address in, and click "Change" it comes back with this error:  "There wallet address you entered was not a valid Bitcoin address. Please try again."

And it will not change.

Any suggestions?

I don't want to insult you but I did the same thing, copied the wrong address, could always generate a new nmc address on btc-e and try that.

Not insulting at all.
I have triple checked that I am using the NMC field in BTC-E.  I also triple checked that I am copying the correct address.  However, I cannot generate a new address because I have never used this address.

This is exactly what it says:

Your address for deposit NMC:
N6bU35BJdKxhD3ctU5FC7rtWRVLyzieMyy

If I copy and paste that exactly into BTC Guild namecoin field it errors out.

Maybe it's because NMC is disabled because of the hard fork problems?

I had an idea and was wondering if it could be implemented in the future sometime.

We have the automatic payout which is based on a threshold, but what is we could have an option to auto payout on a specific day and time on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis no matter what your balance is.

Having this option would allow someone to essentially set it and forget it, knowing his/her balance will be deposited on the day they choose.

This would also help the ones who use coinbase with the auto sell option, having it deposit say every Friday at 2359 it would reach coinbase by Saturday, and automatically sell by Sunday.

Just an idea that I believe would give you yet another edge over the competition.

Why does namecoin payout in only the set threshold?

I had .03422109 for namecoin balance. Set my threshold to .01, I check it a little while ago and it made three separate payments of .01 each leaving me with 0.00422109. Shouldn't it have payed out the entire balance if it is above the threshold?

Namecoin generation is currently running sub-optimally and payments have been paused because of the incompetence in this hard fork.  Identical servers running the same code/dependencies are moving themselves to an orphaned chain and refusing to accept the longest chain on the network, while others move on as normal.

For those who ignore the news updates on the site:  Make sure you update your namecoind/Namecoin-QT if you run your own node!  The hard fork is happening soon and you don't want to get left behind.  As of this evening BTC Guild is fully switched over to the new version.  If you're not sure about your namecoind, "getinfo" should return the version as 35100.

Yes. Also there is a typo in the last word that says "records.d" which seems odd. I just hope I'm still looking at the real BTCGuild website.

used cached passwords saved in your google profile. At least this way your not sending clear text to a fake site.

Sorry about the '.d'.  That was me adding a little debug text to figure out which part of the code was triggering the error.  Should be all fixed now!

Yes working good.

I can't log in, sort of. Your site will take my password and accept it but clicking on any other link like stats page will tell me login/password doesn't match any of your records.

Are you hacked? I haven't received any weird emails regarding email change or wallet change.

I've been doing a few updates to logging for brute force attacks through the various vectors that are under constant 24/7 attack (logins, password resets, etc.).  Are you still seeing the error?
seems after I log in successfully the next link i follow asks me to authenticate.

an example is after logging in going to pplsns stats, this is the error that comes up.

Code:
The username/password combination you entered did not match any of our records.d

Edit: even resetting miner status gives the same error and logs out the session.

Edit2: using https://btcguild.com now does not login and just gives the same error.

Question for the knowledgeable...

After mining a week on bitparking and only getting .03 for my 2M shares (my dgm estimate was  .08), I collected my thoughts, weeped a little, and moved to btc guild.

I have 4 blades running through slush's proxy, to my one worker. I've noticed I can get a better payout with PPS rather than PPLNS. (I did a 24hr test on each)

Should I have a lower minimum difficulty or keep it at 32. If I'm being paid per share, it seems like I can process a shit load more shares with my diff. at 4 vs 32.

Any thoughts would be awesomely appreciated.

Thank you,
Michael

PPLNS is based on luck (as are all other payment methods except PPS).  BTC Guild has historically (last 2.5 months) had positive luck.  At neutral luck, you'll make 4.5% more on PPLNS than PPS, not counting NMC or TX Fees.  The last week has had swings in both directions.

In the long run, PPLNS will pay significantly more than PPS.  24-hour tests are useless for this type of comparison due to variance (same issue with comparing pools for short periods of time).

Bitparking had bad luck this past 7.5 days. One block only paid out 13 BTC, basically we all got screwed.

I'll switch to PPLNS and let it run. So far I've already doubled in the past couple days what I got paid for my 2M shares on bitparking.

You have a solid pool, is there any plans for a manual payout for nmc in the future?

**Edit:**

Looking at the share rate for the various blocks on PPLNS why is it lower than PPS. I don't see how you can average more with PPLNS if the share rate is lower? Maybe I'm missing something.

You're looking at the per share rate for shifts.  RECENTLY luck has been bad.  PPLNS (and all non-PPS methods) have variance, meaning your reward is based on the pool's luck.  If it's bad, PPLNS will earn less than the PPS rate.  If it's good, it will earn more than the PPS rate.  In the long run, it will always pay more, but that is made up of highs and lows (just look at the graph at the bottom of the page).

Ok, I gotcha now.

Below the red line = bad luck, above the red line = good luck.  Black line = the average since it has been tracked across multiple difficulties.  If it's just a little under the red line (96% or higher), it is paying above PPS.  Otherwise it is paying below PPS.
