I know I'm a bit of a noob but...

When we are buying something for sale in $US it needs to be paid for in $US.
I know we are all looking to mine BTC, but when purchasing equipment in $US could we not all pay for the equipment in $US?

We could have but we didn't in this case.

The fact the fiat currency value of BTC has dropped and anykeywhy wasn't sent the BTC before that happen is a concern.  I am not sure what the solution will be exactly or should be.

So. Interesting.  I'm also part of the first order.  I paid for the needed bitcoins with fiat (around 1000/btc) and I figured all was well because the order completed (there was a note about ~237/300 and then more buys and then a second order opened up).

So I'd like to quickly add my concerns and agreement with Ramhound's comments... no need to repeat them.

At the very least this highlights the problems of working with a currency when it's extremely volatile (up or down over 20% in a day is pretty crazy!)... and/or the need to reduce transaction times as much as possible when such circumstances are present.

So... transparency, proportion, and good communication seem like good themes going forward.

techalyst,

I think the problem people having is we purchased shares at $1100 per BTC.  So he either needs to increase the current price of a share, to compensate the current price of a single BTC, allowing everyone who sent in BTC when it was $1100 to keep the ratio the same.  How I see it is that our ratio shouldn't be changed just because the order wasn't paid for when it was $1100.  In an ideal world this whole second or third miner group buy should have been separated.

This is at least my thoughts on the subject.

I was lucky I sent in pre $1100 BTC so as long has KnC ships in a timely manner I will reach my ROI.

The answer isn't quite simple. That's for obvious reasons:

- if KnC doesn't supply the exact specifications for the machine, we can't know the exact amount of GH/s per share and even we can't do that till the shipment date or so;
- Since KnC accepts only dollars, the exact price will be determined at the moment of the final buying. Same thing would happen if #2 order does not complete for any reason. FYI: I own another order (#3) that eventually will be used if this may grant any advantage for all of us. But please keep in mind that this isn't the moment for such kind of "probability of probabilities ponderation" but is the right time to exactly see what we are capable to do, or not.
- I haven't ANY control on Bitcoin exchanges rates. Sure I act in the best interest of everybody, having this in mind and doing my best for our own profit too.

If that doesn't satisfy your requests, please feel free, with a bit of "understanding" on what a charge of futile work would mean for me, inbox my PM & I'll try to answer as almost always I do (even for inconsistent questions usually!) Smiley

We shouldn't loose the focus on our primary mission, so it would be better to delay this kind of thoughts/speculations to a more appropriate time or to another dedecated topic.

Thanks & Cheers!  Smiley

I realize speculating on BTC rates is futile and I would not ask you to pay up due to falling exchange rates. My primary concern however is that I am not asked to pay more after already having sent my 0.05 BTC. This is mainly because I am a newbie who did not have the good fortune of mining bitcoins when it was easy to do so. I have to transfer USD to get bitcoins.

I would understand if you have to reduce the size of my share due to falling rates. This is just how the market works. However, the option of renegotiating or refunds would be nice.

Thanks for your hard work.

I am also in order#1, and i'd like to publicly and explicitly announce that i'm NOT interested in the deal if the initial conditions (0.05BTC/10GHS) will be relevantly changed. What is relevant for each shareholder should be decided by them individually, at least an option for a full refund has to be offered to anyone deciding to get out. I'm sure there will be takers for the refunded shares, if there will be any. Please consider this prior to release of the funds by the escrow, and OP please confirm you share this view.

thanks

anykeywhy

I sent you a private message around 48 hours ago requesting confirmation I was able to get in before order #1 sold out.

At the time there were around 40 shares left.  The combined value of escrow was around 30 shares light compared to what the "total" was an hour before I posted.

Sorry, I may miss your PM... Smiley

Orders are in the same queue positions, so it doesn't matter! Smiley You were asking for a SEPA maybe? --please, PM me in order to keep this topic cleaner--

Thanks & Cheers!

It actually does mater at least to me.

I sent my bitcoins before Order #1 was sold out.  So that was what I attempted to purchase.  I have sent you a private message as requested with my original question.

We can't expect anykeywhy to make up the difference for the fall of the value of BTC. Come on man, he's helping us all out.
Well then I guess we will have to all renegotiate the deal before Sebastian transfers any bitcoins.

I would agree.

I purchased shares in a single miner.  I have no interest helping a second or third miner be purchased. Those honestly should have been separate or the option to indicate which miner we wanted.

I purchased my shares at a time a single BTC was word $1000.0 USD, it was my understanding, the first order was going to be completed and paid for when all 300 shares were sold.  When I paid there was no mention of a second order/miner this only happen after the first order sold out.

The deal is very clearly 0.05 BTC for 1/300th stake in the miner, it says so on the front page.

I would also like to know the answer to this. And if there is an effect, will it affect Order 1 which has already been full and complete?
It wouldn't be fair if it had any effect on Order #1 which was already complete. I had no interest in Order #2 (even if it is now in the same queue position) and I hope he doesn't average the cost price between all shareholders.

It's only because of the actual Bitcoin fluctuation (next to the week-end), KnC accepts only dollars, as you know! Smiley For that reason the time-factor would be so important!

What's the plan if the USD/BTC keeps falling like it is now ($590/BTC)? We purchased thinking 0.05 BTC = 10+ GH/s. If you release more 0.05 BTC shares to make up the miner value in USD, will we get less than 10 GH/s per share?

I would also like to know the answer to this. And if there is an effect, will it affect Order 1 which has already been full and complete?

Thanks,

I would also like to know the answer to this.

In other word... You said 300 shares by unit. I bought 3 shares of unit #1. Will I have 1% of the dividends ?
