As to the point of which is the larger exchange: we have an excellent benchmark, S.DICE / GSDPT. If indeed GLBSE is significant, then likely the majority of volume will come through the passthrough offering. If indeed GLBSE is insignificant, then likely an insignificant portion of the volume will come through the passthrough offering. This is apparently necessary for people who really don't understand that 2-300k over 8 months is way under 100k+ a month, who apparently abound on this forum.

On a more personal note, to a few of the OPs: Not everything you don't know about is "bad". Actually, most of the best things in this world are things you don't know about. Why all the bile, seriously? You've encountered a wonderful thing you've never seen before. It may have financial or technological barriers that are challenging for you personally. They may even turn out to be insurmountable for you personally. Does that make the wonderful thing horrible now? What are we dealing with, five year olds?

My train of thought after reading this thread...

Cool satoshiDice IPO..
Wow. way over priced, ~5 000 000 USD$ for this ? ... 10years to payout if nothing fail, or something better come out...
...would I even trust GLBSE ,,, Hmm,,

Then this  ... :
...
Admitedly, MPEx is a bit more complicated to use than GLBSE.

Here's the FAQ http://polimedia.us/bitcoin/faq.html[/url]

It's run by Mircea Popescu (you can contact him with questions: mircea_popescu on IRC  http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=bitcoin-assets )

1. Dear Lord, what is this ?

    Yes, this is dog.

2. What is an MPSIC ?

Short for Mircea Popescu Standard Identification Code. It's true that it's not very standard, but on the other hand it's very code-y, so it all evens out in the end....
Yeah yeah,,, fuck off , TLDR ... humor into stock exchanges documentation, R U fkin kiddin me ?

Then went to http://polimedia.us/ ...  Empty white site with a picture of gypsies...WTF ?

Then learn about 20btc fee,

/*insert slow clap meme here* /

You missed that one: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.1117171  and few fun filled pages after that.

I'm not trying to flatter myself at all. I'm trying to flatter Bitcoin. Blockchain enables mathematically provable bets, and this is a game changer for gambling around the world.

We'll see how long it take for others to figure this out... and of course the NGCB is not the only entity that is made superfluous by Bitcoin.

This is true, and I'm glad to see corrupt government organizations become irrelevant.

The blockchain makes the Nevada Gaming Control Board irrelevant. I doubt they'll be impressed much at all with Bitcoin  Wink
Dude, don't try to flatter yourself. NGCB officers know quite well what is going on. In fact one of them talked at length and shook hands with Casascius and Bit-Pay crew when they were exhibiting in LV during CES.

NGCB is a worldwide recognized authority in gaming regulation, far wider than their real authority reaches. At every moment bots scrape the http://gaming.nv.gov/ ; and if they detect any change all gaming executives worldwide will have that change translated into their local language and given appropriate interpretation first thing in the morning.

What are the odds a clone site will get made and run on a non US controlled domain and the owners report the .com site to ICE to take out the competition ?

Might be better to move to a .eu or something now and get it established  Smiley

The website itself doesn't really matter that much. He might as well copy/paste the content of that webpage onto a bitcointalk.org forum post.

Erik tries to make money in every way he can, and more power to him. He sticks to his mottos, that's for sure Smiley

The statistics would bear that out and it would be caught, then the algorithms altered. It could be a short term loss, but not a long term loss.

Sure, the gambling system would recover but the share price would go haywire.

This is a fad and no way will last long unless you have a significant and aggressive development and growth plan. And from what I have seen, you do not but just want to cash out your expected income for 10 years today.

Gambling has been a pretty long running "fad" in human societies.

Have I not shown a path of development already? The new site is about to launch, and all that investment was done by me before any IPO announcement. SatoshiDICE is being integrated into other systems - it's already integrated into your blockchain.info wallet, and soon your blockchain.info app. More will come, rest assured. SatoshiDICE is a branded game that should be in every casino, and it has the name recognition and momentum to do it. Further, I'm not "cashing out"... I'm selling only 10% of this equity. The 90% I'm keeping while I work to grow it along with Bitcoin.

Yeah, but why tempting the fate by precomputing the winning numbers for 10 years ahead? Nevada Gaming Control Board wouldn't be impressed.

Shhh....you've just leaked his secret. The occasional "less than 1" bet placed at just the right time to suck out excess profits so he doesn't have to dividend them out.

Please don't insult me.

And anyway we can change the precomputed numbers to a new set, basically re-issue new numbers. As long as it's done publicly there is no problem (old bets are valid based on those old numbers, and new bets would be valid based on the new ones).

Oh! Heh...well, I figured "Owner is seized" (under External) covered that.
No those are two completely different risks.

Seizure of the owner would be effected by some government to stop the operation of SatoshiDICE.

Secret leakage would be effected by some non-governmental entity to continue operating SatoshiDICE in a completely predictable manner.

Libertarians (like Erik) are particularly easy target for the later kind of the risk.
