Update.
The boards are populated and tested @ this stage.
@ the moment each board is tested with heatsink and cooler.
This is a slow process. Then the boards pass 2 hour test each.

120 Chips from now on per X3, 7 Chips per X1.

Bob,

By order still did not get converted (batch 2 conversion). no email recieved yet.. does this mean i will get 7 chips? for the technobit conversion?

Did you not get a confirmation email from BA?

I just discovered this thread, thanks to MS facebook page.

I have one X-1 on order from MS, and I think I have this figured out, but not sure. Could you please confirm if I've got it down?

One X-1 = 7 chips.

8 chips = 1xboard w/4 chips, and 4 chip assembly fee - (so I'm short 1 chip - $50 owed?)

They assemble the board, I pay shipping to US address (eta cost? how heavy is the board?)

I then need to purchase, separately, 4 CPU coolers (~$25 ea x 4 = $100), one controller ($50 from MS), and a 500 (or 600?) watt PSU ($50).

End product - 400ghs @ 400 watts, eta early September.

Total additional cost: ~$250 + unknown shipping?

Am I doing the math right? And is this possible for a X1  owner?

Compared with waiting for a 100ghs in the same timeframe, it seems like a pretty good deal, but I want to be sure I'm not missing anything. Thanks!

bobsag3 and marto74, what's the schedule for the next batch? When does the order need to be converted to chips, and when will the next batch of boards be produced?

Next Friday 8/15

hi guys i just saw this topic a while a go and started reading it from page 1...

i have some questions in my mind.. and the first one is do i need to buy 4 coolers for each board...? i saw someone saying its 25usd for each then it is 100bucks for all 4 just for one board...?

if it is a yes then this is gonna be a pricy one for converting my x3 order...

thank you very much..

Yes. Each chip needs to be cooled with a separate cooler so that's 4 chips and coolers per board. Smiley

thanks buddy... i love the idea of getting more gh/usd ipaid on my x3 order, but paying 1500usd more for 15boards is just too much for me to handle...

thanks!!

Trust BA to screw us out of the extra chips Smiley

Considering diff increases and that this is for conversions starting next week... should be about the same deal. Its nice that they are keeping that part of the compensation up at least.

That is a worthy of a nod in their direction. They just need to address the overcharged shipping for chip-exchange orders (in my opinion) now.  I don't think the chip-exchange itself is an equivalent deal for what we originally agreed too back in November, but with your help, and arrangement with Marto, it's making the best of a bad situation so far.
