What are the options for hosting btw?

I am looking at 25 boards and there is a limit on how much heat I can host in my house.   Shocked

You would need more than a single 30A 240V circuit to power them all too.

Yes, assuming 400W per board at the wall, that's 10 KW.

The heat is not the biggest problem, you could always install large window extractor fans. Or liquid cool with a car radiator outside.

But 10KW power is alot:

If you're fortunate enough to be on 240V then that's 42 Amps.

120V supply and you need to carry 84 Amps.

In both 120 and 240 scenarios you will probably need a 3 phase house hookup and then run 3 * 2 phase lines from your house box spread over your PSUs. Get an electrician to do the house box wiring if you don't understand 3 phase, or be very careful and have some spare street box fuses on hand of the correct value.

10KW constant base power is alot, remember you will have kettles, toasters, other machines running on top from time to time, so expect it to peak at 15KW or more. You'd have a very warm winter though Cheesy

Sidehack hosts miners for 98$/kW/m.

He might be a little busy at the moment with building the 2000W breakout boards.

Anyone that's looking at Gekkoscience PSUs or hosting, let me know. We're shipping preorders on the DPS2K boards, hopefully will have stock of the 750W boards within a week or two, and will be able to start taking in hosting hardware this week. Everything's moving slower than I was hoping, but that's sorta how bitcoin works - the only thing ahead of schedule is difficulty increases.

I've had some people ask if we were providing controllers and coolers for hosted minion boards. I can assemble the hardware if people supply coolers and control boards with their hosted minion boards, for no extra charge, but as of yet I have no plans to stock the required parts.

how did u complete payment when u doesnt know shipping costs?:/
I ordered through technobit's webshop, set up an account there, made the order for 25 boards assembly, applied the tracking code and discount voucher, set the region/address and which shipping company option and got to a total which I then paid with BTC.

Martin, does this mean that for those who ordered in batch 1 and have completed their payments, shipping their units will happen this week?

How did you pay for shipping?
I thought marto would let us know how to pay and where to ship to a couple of days before shipment

In answer to your question y_boonstra, I placed an order for a TPlink (I used to use Windows HexMiner with his older models but it was horrendous, no offense marto Wink) so I orderd the TPL with full carriage and included a note about batching it up with my chip exchange order. When the new procedure (placing the boards order with details in comments and selecting bank transfer as the payment method) was mentioned, I placed my boards order separately with another note to batch with my paid TPL & Shipping order. This has been confirmed as okay, and both status' read 'payment accepted' so hopefully all is good.

Welcome back Marto, hopefully you had a good break.
