Primecoin is good.

Also CopperLark is perspective - has good community and it's own professional trading platform ( https://upbit.org/?ref=1027 ).

HeavyCoin is interesting too.

Right now everyone should look for non-Scrypt coins as these are the ones that will do well when the Scrypt ASICs hit. Take a quick read of the article on Scrypt and the impact that ASICs will have, there's a bit of history in it for SHA-256 ASIC impact.

Changing landscape for GPU miners

Scrypt-Jane and Adaptive-N give diminishing returns. There is X11 by Evan Duffield which performs better than Scrypt and uses less energy. Take a look at Hirocoin, it is a thoroughly coded and looks to be the new home for GPU miners. When GPU miners look at the cost of mining and factor it in X11 will be the next choice for them, due to the complexity of X11 it will be ASIC free for a long time even if there is another round of ASICs.

I'm super excited about Hirocoin and extremely impressed with all of the positive feedback from people mining the coin, especially the ongoing praise of your work as the developer.

Check out what Coin2 is doing with it's beta of the new FPS game where you pay a c2 ante and the winner takes the pot. Very new coin with an already stable price that's very novel.

Good roundup.

But on Primecoin I disagree. Lets not understimate the advantages of a functional proof of work.

I works very well to talk about XPM to people outside of the community or even hostile to crypto currency.
It helped me to bring a number of conversations to good reason and out of prejudice for "cpu waste" arguments.

p.s. oh and Dogecoin... srsly.... ok... to the moooooon  Roll Eyes

These which you are putting as Mid Bosses were my favorite in 2013, but unfortunately i stoped believing that they will go to the moon. Even start to think that they will dip into the shits...It is only my opinion.

+1

X11 is sweet. It's going to be really interesting to watch this play out. Vert will be one, but the recent ramping up of the diff already makes it hard for smaller miners.

Quality/innovative next-gen algo coins will be the future....i hope.

Why include Fedoracoin in your list?

I notice it suddenly jumped up in price yesterday. Is there a reason for this like new added features or services?

Besides BTC, I hold now a few others in some decent volume (bought yesterday and today), but I will not insult people's intelligence by promoting them.

There's only one coin where I wouldn't mind to do so. That one which PoW was actually useful, associated with Boinc, protein folding or whatever that was, CureCoin. It seems dead though  Sad

You guys are funny. The absolute only coin brought up in this thread with any recent volume or growth (20x in the last 10 days!) is blackcoin, which was barely mentioned then dismissed as a shitcoin.
