damn, i'll just skip the cheap shit and find some brass reloads.

so I guess i'll continue to ask the folks that view this thread to sell me some ammo!

I'm really looking to get some .45acp, even if its a proxy buy, I have plenty of coins to spend.

I thought you were going to reload .45?

I usually buy from sgammo.com
This stuff is around $0.31/rd to the door. http://www.sgammo.com/product/cci/1000-rd-case-45-auto-acp-230gr-tmj-cci-blazer-cleanfire-ammo-3480

It's still kind of cheap, but better then Tul

anyone ever have issues with steel cased .45acp? I was looking at buying this:

http://slickguns.com/product/ammo-45-auto-tulammo-fmj-230-grain-450-round-can-sealed-spam-can-12569

Probably be fine.  Just remember not to leave a round in a hot chamber for more then a few seconds, keep the chamber clear once its heated up.

are you implying that hot steel can set off the primer or ignite the powder?

No not at all.

They have a green polymer coating on them that melts..  You can get a round stuck in the chamber because the polymer melts to it and then your firearm won't cycle..  Never leave steel cased ammo chambered in a hot barrel, especially if your going to leave it in long enuf for it to cool off all the way.

Steel cased to me is for plinking, SHTF ammo should be brass cased quality ammo.

I have had a couple shells of 7.62x54r crack a little bit. Have also heard of problems reloading steal shells. TulAmmo is about the lowest tier of ammunition that exists (that actually works). I guess for cheap SHTF ammo, it would work alright. It's known to have trouble (jamming while chambering and extracting) with some firearms. Buy small amounts of it, make sure your gun eats it fine. If you go through 100rds or so, I'd call it good. My brother loves it for his SKS, but I personally wouldn't buy it.

Heard about a guy that did that with an M249. Barrel was glowing white. Last round got caught in the chamber, thought he spent everything. Opens it up, BOOM!

What do you guys think about Saiga? I was thinking about getting one chambered in .308 for around $550. FAL seems too expensive/hard to find. G3 eats brass, and VEPR has a stupid stock.

I love my M1A.
Nice! Is it an older one, or a remake?

Newer.  Bought it NIB about 10 years ago.  MA 9226 CA  "loaded" black synthetic stock, blued.
