I disagree (about .22LR not doing damage). They might not do good body damage, but they will take out a 1400 pound steer just as easily as they will kill a pig or a human.

I grew up in a butcher shop, and my grandfather and father used .22LR to kill the animals (mostly because the ammo is so cheap). They will penetrate the skull, and they will drop the animal. There was a couple exceptions... someone brought in an even larger bull, and it took two shots to bring him down.

Of course it was at point blank range, and right between the eyes. But I wanted to dispel myths that .22LR weren't useful for killing large animals.

I think a 22 to the head would do more damage than a throwing star, but i could be wrong.

CCI Blazer, Remington Subsonic HP, CCI Minimag

remind me not to buy the middle one.

You might like the middle one better!

1. It subsonic , subsonic ammo make less noise and works great in Class 3 devices(IE silencer)
2. I would want a bullet to expand like it did and cause a bigger wound hole, bigger hole more blood loss.
3. It looks like it is Hollow Point, so you can add your favorite poison to it, for even more damage.

I guess if I run out of everything else to shoot and I'm fighting for my life with a 22lr, I'll consider it. I dont see that happening though.
