I would like to agree you with you but here I also want to mention that those people don't have to go afraid about committing mistakes who have learn from their mistakes but those who don't learn from there mistakes and keep doing the same mistakes again and again for those I think it's a really a thing to be afraid.
In this case of gambling every gambler should learn from there mistakes As I say myself in the beginning when I started gambling I found that I was investing in gambling beyond my means and for which I had to face problems later but when I realized that gambling was more of a frustration than a joy.

Yes, but that only works for some people and doesn't apply to some gamblers out there. You see, some people tend to have a responsible nature by default, but what happens if they get carried away sometimes in gambling and spend more money or time than they are supposed to spend, then they realize their mistake when it's done and learn from that mistake that they should be careful the next time they gamble.

However, that doesn't happen with every gambler. A lot of gamblers make a mistake, feel like they have done something wrong and shouldn't do it again, but they eventually do it again because they don't have a responsible nature and even if they want to, they just can't help it, it comes out naturally for them.

Mistakes in the sense that someone steals money and tries to gamble it and eventually loses it all, that person is responsible for their actions. Making mistakes is find but when it comes to money at hand, mistakes like these can cost a lot. Gambling is one such thing where greed always takes over and the bankroll based mistakes happen, but they are not difficult to control, just dont gamble with money you dont own.

Learning from the mistake is equally important. What gamblers do is that they lose the money and attempt to win it back and lose more and thus the losses keep piling up till there is no money at hand.

If I may say, actually this is a process in our lives. which makes us have a lot of experience and new understandings, study and learn every day, especially from mistakes. Apart from that, it doesn't have to be a mistake that we made and this applies when we discuss this thread. gambling is no exception, basically everything is possible. yeah, despite our concept that gambling is just for fun. Winning and losing are part of gambling itself, in fact we are fully aware of the risks when we are involved in this type of entertainment activity. the point, as you say. but let me add, for me it's not just about mistakes, but efforts so that we don't get caught in a circle of misleading thought patterns. especially if it is not an acute addiction, which only thinks about fulfilling its desire to gamble. It doesn't matter where the money comes from, the important thing is that they can still channel their high desires. In gambling, responsibility also needs to be involved. discipline, even though sometimes we get carried away and make some mistakes. but that is normal, the most important thing is that we return to the first point. namely, responsibility. For me personally, the essence is not to let gambling destroy my life and that of my family. therefore, responsibility and other factors are important to include.

Learning from other person mistake would be preferable but the issue is that sometimes not we tend to not actually take that serious so when you make yours then the lesson sticks more, there  are countless times that we do make me mistake but that doesn't mean anything especially when we learn from those mistakes and take  to the correction I believe the actual main purpose of making mistakes itself is to actually learn and improve yourself in everyway possible and for gambling you learn so that you don't get to misuse your funds.

In my opinion, there is no such thing as a mistake in gambling. If we believe in placing bets, we must be prepared to experience loss in gambling. And, regarding the addiction mentioned by OP, we as gamblers should not be greedy, we should limit ourselves in gambling, because basically gambling is just entertainment and not a place to seek wealth.

So, keep wise and again, limit yourself in gambling to avoid a total lost in gambling. I think that is why any gambling sites give an age limitations to play, so i believe the reason is maturity and wisdom in gambling, surely, the reason of limitation of the age is to ensure that the players are people who can limit themselves in playing and are ready to bear the risks.

There's a saying that mistakes are inevitable in the lives of humans. Even in our daily activities, some people make mistakes so often that they end up muttering words to themselves, saying that if they had known, they would not have done things the way they did. In a nutshell, mistakes are inevitable, even in the gambling scene, and whenever a mistake is made, a correction should be made but some gamblers can also ignore their mistake and that is why we have compulsive gamblers. Committing mistakes in gambling doesn't make all gamblers responsible.

Yes, it's true that every mistake can be a valuable experience for someone, especially in gambling. It's not easy for someone to learn from their mistakes and experiences, even for newcomers to gambling, even though they often see many people sharing their bitter experiences in gambling, but that's not the point. Well, I've seen people appreciating failure and now in your case, it is a mistake, but if care is not taken, you will be gullible about them and think you are still doing yourself a favour. For me, there is no way I will entertain mistakes or failures, but if they happen, I will take them as a preparatory step but will frown so much at them and at myself for that matter. Then I will try to improve myself and make sure that I do not fail again the next time or make any mistakes. If that is what you meant, then you are on the right path. But you made it look so relaxed as if one must make mistakes and think less of it before they can be responsible in gambling, which is not supposed to be so. The avoidance of what is wrong starts immediately without procrastinating it in the name of it helping you, you help yourself immediately by being bitter with it but make a change immediately.

Now, let me establish a little difference, in gambling, if you lose, you may not make any mistakes, you might just lose because the luck is not on your side or your strategy is faulty having done what you needed to do. In this case, if anyone continues to pamper this, it could be an issue, as the overhauling of the trading strategy might be the solution as no mistake was made. And don't forget, this is money we are talking about, it is painful wasting it just like that, so why make a mistake or bet when you are not ready? I think we should get ready before we do that and any mistakes made should not be an excuse to the point that we will now be giving it some kind of appraisals the way you make it look.

My gambling philosophy is; "Let's be decisive before we bet and wait if we are not ready." No one is rushing us.

We do not have to be afraid of committing a mistake when we can learn from that mistake and improve on the things we are doing but making that mistakes when you do not have a chance to learn from it will be a waste of your money. If you made a mistake when gambling and losses that money, you can not make back that money and if you decide to try to recover your money you might lose more money. What you should do is to learn from the mistakes that you made and not do it again but do not to try to correct the mistake by recovering the money. If you do not make a mistake you would not know that doing that thing is not going to work for you therefore mistakes are good but they should not be very costly mistake that can make you to lose a big sum of money that it will be difficult for you to recover form the lost.

This is how it's supposed to be but let face the reality, how many gamblers are learning from their mistakes? Only few people gambling can confidently say that they are learning from their mistakes. Many addicts out there have in one way or another heard, saw or even read about others experience on addiction and the consequences that follows but nobody cares to learn from such experiences. You don't necessarily have to make mistakes before one can learn, trying to avoid the mistakes through others experience should be the best practice. Prevention is better than cure they said, if the mistake can be avoided please avoid it before you experience it and learn from it.

However, these mistakes can only be avoided or learn from in gambling practice and not in your game selection. It's possible to learn from your mistakes when selecting your games and still make same or other mistakes. There is no clue or manual for that, it is basically on luck. The aspect you can learn from is your gambling management such as the amount to gamble, how often to gamble, keep to your limit and above all, don't put much hope on your games in order not to feel disappointed eventually.

not sure why we need to commit mistakes first before becoming responsible when we can be that even without mistakes , that will happen if we understand gambling more than just a money making machine but in the true essence .
but that kind of situiation sometimes brings a gambler to be more addicted instead of learning from their mistakes , remember that life is not about how much you lose but its about how much you earn.

They will curious with their losses before and will trying to recover their lose by using more money to playing gambling. They will not thinks that can makes them lose more money and will regrets when the money is all gone. 

If they can not learn about what happens to them, they will still do the same mistakes and will lose much money. They even will not trying to limits their budget to playing gambling because their wants to make money from gambling. 

If that is happens, they will not learn anything because they already made many mistakes and just lose their money like that. That is happens to all gamblers who doesn't use limitation in gambling so they will not thinks that they actually lost much money. We must avoids that and should learn from our mistakes so we don't makes other mistakes when playing gambling.

You've proved my point then, that there are many people that can change and pain isn't the only way, also that's not a saying when you make a mistake, that's just common sense, of course you won't do it again because if you did then it will result in the same thing. Maybe it's being wise if you learn from the mistakes of others rather than make that mistake just to have the learning. I mean you don't do octopus wire connection because you've seen people do it and that it results in fire or problems with electricity, that's not really something that you have to experience yourself to know the consequences or to learn from it right?

I don't think people can learn much.

It just about how much money you've spend for gambling, if the money you spend is larger than what you can afford to lose, you might learn from that and will not trying to exceed your afford to lose.

But, if we're talking about the games, it's mostly lucky based, both new gambler and experienced gambler are nothing different.

Whether we are afraid or not, we will definitely make mistakes, so mistakes are a natural thing and we will definitely do them, no matter how careful we try, we can still make mistakes. It happens; there are many ways a person could change or, let's say, realise a thing, and one of the factors for a person to change or realise something is when they make mistakes, or in short, 'learning through pain'. In gambling, if a person becomes too addicted and somehow manages to realise and wake up from their addiction, he or she should not do it again and will eventually avoid the worst possible outcome. Thats when a person could change by experiencing the pain or negative consequences, and some already avoid the mistakes that they could possibly make because they could think ahead, or before they do things, they decide first if it is right to do or not. So in gambling is a person can be wise in its decision then its good because he/she will become cautious in every of its action.

This doesn't have to happen in my opinion, I mean pain is a great teacher but we have to understand that it should be the necessary kind of pain and that it should never be any pain, remember that pain leaves trauma too especially in excess and in consistent manner. You don't have to make mistakes too to know the right thing, that's the most retarded thing that you can do because there are other people out there that will have a wealth of experience and you can probably learn a thing or two about their mistakes and there's also the fact that you also have common sense, that's a thing that's really rare nowadays, it will help you avoid silly mistakes and avoidable mistakes that are often the most mistakes that a lot of people make when they do something.

Some people are so far from acting responsibly and following risk-limiting tactics that they are doomed to make mistakes and suffer the negative consequences of their actions. Some people need a lot of lessons in responsible behavior, others not enough. But experience doesn't just happen. It is always a memory of mistakes made. You know that in Ancient Greece it was called “learning through pain.” This is true. It is not mistakes that teach us, it is the pain from these mistakes that teaches us.
