Do you think it is everyone that has the ability to learn from their mistakes, I do not think so because some people keep repeating the same mistakes that they have made long ago which shows that they did not learn any lesson after making the mistake formerly. I think it does not only apply to gambling but also in all aspects of life. Commiting mistakes and getting hurt from them is the most effective way for us to to stumble against the same rock once and once again.
In the case of gambling, I have a personal history myself a out getting more responsible because of my previous losses, it were not many though, but those certainly changed me as a person.
I used to play dices a lot using the typical strategy of newbie, using high wager and low risk, in order to to slowly accumulate a good possible earning from the session. Though, the inevitable happened and I ended up losing the same high wager I was risking with that foolish strategy.
since that experience I have never thought on doing the same on dices, and I have opted to rather to use a moderate wager and vary my risk with dices.

Its painful that some people who have been hurt before by overindulgence in gambling still don't learn from it and wave it off as a bad strategy and instead of embracing gambling in moderation, they veer off to trying another strategy and still losing their funds in the process and in the end they get really desperate for recovery having acquired some loans or there about to fund their gambling excesses. Committing mistakes doesn't change anybody, only learning from it and not repeating it again make us being a responsible person whether it is in gambling or in anything that we do. Home court advantage is very important at for example basketball but sometimes they play on a neutral venue and this can have a big impact. Of course at the bookie site they don't write it's a neutral court and you just think they play at home.
