I always say in many of my posts easier said than done maybe easier for some and harder for some, we would not have many addicted to gambling if they could follow or learn from their mistakes but the eagerness to win and greediness is within us because we've seen how we will have an opportunity to double or grow their money

Human is indeed prone to making mistake due to human error but feeling afraid after committing mistake is normal because it’s a sign that we did something wrong and we need to improve ourselves for betterment.

Being not afraid on committing mistakes will make you human to mistake that will cause lot more of mistake since you care less on doing it. Mistakes are inevitable and no one plans to make mistake but it is because of risk that mistake happen. So I think the better submission will be that we shouldn't be afraid to take risk but to take a reasonable risk that when it fails we can fall back to correct it as mistake. If you are trying to avoid risk taking then you won't be able to make a difference in your gambling experience. Some gamblers have now become so afraid to take risk because of what they have heard or encountered. They have had bad encounter because they took risk that wasn't reasonable and when it went against them, they regret without understanding their irresponsibility in gambling all that they have with hope of winning.

I will divide into two types of mistakes. The one that is in our control. And the one that is not in our control. It is just like human-caused and nature-caused. The human caused mistakes are the ones that are totally avoidable and the nature caused mistakes are the ones that cannot be attributed to us.

Like you already mentioned, chasing losses, going over your budget, deliberately breaking the casino rules are human-caused and in our control. While the those are not in our control like inconsistent game fairness, lack of transparency that leads to confusion, poor random number generation that leads to unfair games outcomes.

Knowing which is which will save the gambler from beating themselves up and them modifying their behaviour to prevent multiple reoccurrence of the human caused error which can be controlled.

This has to do with the gravity of gambling mistake made by the gambler, for there are gambling mistakes you may make and your life will never remain the same both psychologically and financially. That's true, I think most of us made mistakes in gambling like we loss control and loss an amount of money that are not suppose to be risk in gambling. It's okay to make mistake, we don't have to blame ourselves all the time, all we do is just move on and learn from it. Personally, I don't easily learn from my mistakes, I don't know but I made mistakes multiple times until I learn how to be a discipline gambler.

It's all about how we manage our emotion as even if our mind would say that this is what we should do, but once we challenge especially if we experience like a losing, that is when we get to aggressive and forget the game plan, so we should keep learning if we keep making mistakes until we finally control ourselves.

Some mistakes is unavoidable and what's important for that scenario is we learn a lesson from those wrongful actions we commit. If we didn't experience those unfortunate scenarios that we don't want to happen then there would be no realization for certain things that need to consider. I believe that it is not committing mistakes that totally help us to become a responsible gambler. It is one of the many first steps but it is the learning after committing the mistakes that help us to become responsible gambler in its entirety.
