Will, it really be tough one or ~~Colombia~~ Chile will take the 3rd place easily. Argentina is really playing so far less than expected and I don't think they will differ in the 3rd place match, moreover, they are broken now. Mostly Messi because it was probably the last hope for him to have a trophy.

This was indeed the tournament of surprised.I was just thinking before the game that Chile should get an easy win and the semi finals were without any big surprise then it comes Peru and make a really good win against a Chile without bright ideas.

I think though that now it is obvious who the winner of this tournament will be,Brasil.

Agreed, i also have a big feeling it won't be an easy one for Brazil. It could go either way. Maybe Brazil's biggest backing is the home tuft.
Also the reason i think the tournament has had various finalist could be because of how short it is. I mean immediately after group stages we get into Quarter finals. An underdog who has been first or second in group stages is just 2 matches away from the finals.

"comfortably" - not so sure, Peru will for sure play a match of their life, cause when will they have the new chance to become champions? maybe never again

I still can't believe that perun won the match even with 3:0, Chile had several attacks but not much organized which left them achieving 0 goals. Perun was lucky in my eyes, first 2 goal was not that much organized, because of the mistake of Chile's defend, they got those.

So, you want to say that Messi can't make difference? C'mon, you should watch games of Barcelona. Yeah, he don't perform in national team so well, but he is probably half of their team. I'm trying to imagine where Argentina would be without Messi.

Wasn't able watch match live because of time zone difference, now watching replay and I can say that Argentina didn't played bad and they had some dangerous moments when score was 1:0. This failure of Argentina probably means that Messi won't win Ballon D'Or this year.
Today I'm waiting for tough win of Chile, but again, this match is too late for me to watch unfortunately...

Really? All the p2p betting sites and betting markets I saw showed me the complete opposite: most volumes lay with Brazil. Lot of people also took handicap bets, that was how good Brazil were and how shit Argentina can be.

I'm not going to argue who the better player is between Messi and Ronaldo, because both of them are really extraordinary in their own field, but I'm only going to say since Ronaldo is more of a center forward and all he has to do for his teams is to be clinical, then It's probably easier compared to when the whole team player has to go through you just like it happens with Messi.

I have seen two match of Argentina and I think they are very capable to overcome the obstacle that Brazil will bring for them. I am predicting a 2 - 1 win for Argentina. The worse will be 1 - 1 draw.

I expected the worse is 3:0 win for Brazil but it was 2:0, Messi could have a goal unless the goal bar was a bit higher Cheesy

You can see the difference clearly in their national teams. Messi is so dissapointing in Argentina, and once again he didn't manage to get the team and win the Copa America trophy. From the beginning of the tournament Argentina didn't play well and it was about time for them to be disqualified.

well, all those players are playing beautiful football in their clubs, it's a "national team" issue here, they have to work on that one, cause everyone is expecting that Messi will win alone the game....

All those big star players just can not seem to get a good team flow going and with all this good experience behind them you would think they would at be able to score atleast one goal against brazil but they failed to do it in last nights game so are out of the competition.
Very sad to see but it is reality of messi not being able to find any other player who he can have a mind link with of where his superb passing skills would be setting them up to put one in the back of the net.

For me Argentina has world class options in the attack but rest the team is nowhere near that level. Add to that the fact that Messi isn't playing defense and quite probably Aguero and Lautaro don't play much defense as well and you get very unbalanced squad. They can cover it against weaker team which doesen't have the power to bring the play to Argentina half.

Regarding our competition I had Brazil to win and changed it to draw in the last moment. Trying hard to secure that last spot Grin

This generation of Argentina players have lots of talent but they’ve been failing at international level for years. It’s a shame, they really should be winning major trophies.

Totally correct, Messi is undoubtedly the greatest footballer in the history of the beautiful game, not winning an international trophy with Argentina does add a bit of a question mark on such an illustrious career.

Messi really needed to win this tournament, but coming up against Brazil, the tournaments favorite, I knew they were heading home, I feel last night would be his last for his country.
