Talent-wise, I don't think there's any other team that'll participate in the Copa America that's better than Brazil which is why I strongly believe that where teamwork doesn't favour them, individual brilliance will likely help them overcome.

I disagree with this. Brazil will either work as a team, or it won't work at all. Individual brilliance won't help them at all. The teams in the Copa America are very disciplined and compact, teams would find it very difficult to penetrate their opponents if they don't play as a team.
Secondly, I don't see anybody in Brazil who is good enough to win games for them and lead them with individual brilliance. Neymar is not here, Vinicius is not representing, Rodrygo is the only attacker that can step up and I don't believe even he has what it takes to individually take Brazil to the trophy.

When you watch Argentina, you'll see that they play as a team, even Messi plays with his teammates. That makes things easier for them. It is this reason that makes me rate Uruguay slightly above Brazil in this tournament. It's going to be interesting to watch.

I am very curious to see how Brazil will play because they were doing very badly. I hope they recover and can have a good Copa America. I just remember that team where Kaka, Ronaldo and Dinho were. With those players it was enough to scare the other teams because when they went out on the field they were titans, the way they moved and played. With them alone it was enough to win a World Cup. At that time I admire how France was able to snatch the World Cup from Brazil with Zidane and Deschamps, who played very well, and obviously with the help of titi Henry. I want to see Brasil at the same level as those titans.

Even though Brazil lost to France in the 1998 final, I have great memories of that World Cup.
They were a team that most Brazilians were proud to watch and cheer for, and they were a match for any team in the world

Today, I would say that the problems of the Brazilian national team are many, but I would highlight the corruption that has taken place in the CBF, the disorganization in choosing a new coach, the old dogmas that the CBF still carries and the lack of a sense of community among the players
But even so, it's a team that is always among the favorites and can never be underestimated

If you're thinking of watching a Brazil game, I recommend Brazil vs Colombia which promises to be a great match as Colombia are playing VERY well and have everything it takes to be a team that will reach the semi-finals

A lot have been said about different generations of the Brazilian team and how they were almost unstoppable as well as how poor the current Brazil national team have been in their results. The Copa America is almost upon us and despite the intimidating quality of players in the Brazilian team, many still believe that they're very beatable. The Argentina national team is even seen as better team than their their Brazilian counterparts by some people. In my own opinion I think the Brazil national team stands a good chance of winning the Copa America this summer despite not having a high profile manager in the dugout.
Talent wise, I don't think there's any other team that'll participate in the Copa America that's better than Brazil which is why I strongly believe that where team work doesn't favour them, individual brilliance will likely help them overcome.

You live in the old world, there are no more Messi, Ronaldo or Neymar. We have sufficient regeneration, and for Brazil we have Vinicius who has proven his achievements at club level.

That's one point I will also love to endorse as there was a time where Messi, Ronaldo or Neymar were all unknown in the history of football and there will be a time they will be forgotten as well. This is why time is everything about life as it shapes the activities of the world over time. There are new generation of footballers now that are also doing some wonder jobs at the club side. They have the energy, the morale, the skills and the passion to work hard for the team especially if they have the opportunity to serve their nations. I have the thought that many managers will be looking at out to work with them without the star players mentioned above rather than working with those old guys who are hanging their boots anytime soon.

Brazil and Argentina are still the two most favorite teams, Argentina is the defending champion. It makes sense to place them as the favorite team, because the squad depth they have is said to be better than the other contestants. Apart from that, I think Uruguay is also worth considering, because they now have a golden generation in their squad. America will act as hosts, it might be a little advantageous for them to go further. We hope that Brazil will face Argentina in the final, that would be ideal. Apart from that, it is possible that there will be a surprise, the favorite team could be eliminated early. It's a shame that Neymar couldn't continue his adventure in this edition of the Copa Amreka due to a prolonged injury, even though he made a big contribution in the previous qualifying stages.
Brazil and Argentina are favorites in almost every edition to win the title, but don't forget that Uruguay also deserves a chance in this edition. Other national teams seem less reliable than the 3 above, but sometimes Chile is also good.
Interestingly, Messi and several other older Argentina players will still take part in this year's edition. They're not done yet and are still the favorites, but I'm not so sure I see Argentina retaining their title. Brazil is definitely ahead of Argentina in my opinion, but I think both deserve to be in the final.
I think that many always go in favor of Argentina and Brazil because of the quality of players they always have. I personally think that some teams have a lot to surprise, the truth is Colombia is a team that promises, and watch out for Venezuela, those kids are motivated and want to make history, the Copa America serves to measure themselves very well with the toughest in South America, like Uruguay, Paraguay, I think that South American football is one of the strongest in the world, some say that it is European, but come on, in a South American qualifier even the countries that can finish in 2nd or 3rd place by one less, like Ecuador, Peru, I think that all South American teams have to be careful.

There is no doubt that teams like Uruguay and Colombia are very strong in the Copa America. However, Argentina and Brazil will be considered the most favorites for the Copa America. The players of these teams play with all the renowned clubs of the world, and are very experienced.

Brazil's three opponents in the Copa America, Costa Rica, Paraguay and Colombia are all three very strong teams. It is going to be very difficult for Brazil to win all their matches in the group stage and stay at the top of the table. Moreover, Brazil's performance is still somewhat erratic. The coach is yet to stabilize the team. However, there are plenty of talented players in Brazil's squad.

With the current form of Argentina I think they are going to retain that title. Currently I don't see any team in the competition that can stop Argentina from winning the trophy back to back. Since Argentina won the world cup it looks like that are no longer in any pressure. They are playing their games and getting results. Argentina has lots of great talents that other teams don't have currently. Well Brazil can try but it will only end in trying. Football has really left the Brazil camp, their recent players are not matching the standard that was set by their legends. Brazil are no longer that team they used to be, that every nation used to be afraid to face them. If Brazil get to the final against Argentina it's game over for Brazil. Neymer and his counterparts has failed Brazil, much was expected from him. But injuries upon injuries characterized his football career which never allowed him to achieve his full potential and lead his country to win a trophy.

With the current display of Argentina in the last Copa America in 2021 and since they are the only country to have won the competition 3 times consecutively in 1945, 1946 and 1947 before the tournament entered into every Four years now so they can possibly win again but Uruguay is also a very competitive country and the both countries have won the competition 15 times each. Brazil also used to be a good side but they have really declined in performance even though they have experienced players like Neymar Jr, Vinicius Jnr, Endrick, Casemiro, Rodrygo, Richarlison and Manchester city goal keeper Ederson but yet their performance in the Copa America hasn't been that impressive. Neymar Jr was a very good force in the Brazilian squad but due to his numerous injuries have made him decline in performance instead the player to look up to now is Vinicius Jnr.
In the last season's Copa America held in Brazil, Brazil were heavy favorites and faced Argentina in the final. After falling behind Argentina, Neymar and other players attacked a lot against Argentina but in the end they could not win against Argentina. This Copa America squad has some changes from the last Copa America squad. Most likely, Brazil's Neymar will not be present in this Copa America and he has not been able to make the team due to injury problems. Although Neymar did not get a place in the team, all the other players in the team are experienced enough and have enough skills. Most of the young players have been given a place in the team and hopefully Brazil will win the Copa America title again with the help of young players.
I don't know what you are seeing in those young players in Brazilian team that's making you think that they are going to win the tournament. But with the look of things Argentina are the more complete team in that tournament that's capable of winning the Copa America. Argentina has experienced old players and Young talents combined together, they have been playing together for long and they know each other pattern of play. There is harmony in the Argentine's locker room. They still want to compete at the highest level and still show why they are the world champion. It's bad that Neymer is not going to be available to play for the Brazilian side, this would have been another opportunity for him to try and win something with his country, but it's a shame that he is not going to be with the team.

I think it's time for Brazil to actually lift a trophy right ? It's been a while since they won Copa America and if they managed to do this , I think they will also win World Cup and go back 2 back champions in America.

Argentina has a strong squad as always but I feel the ego's on that team will guide them towards elimination and frankly Columbia is currently in a very great football form and I won't be surprised if these 2 will actually face each other in elimination game with Columbia emerging victorious.  Cool

I think it is actually spelt "Colombia" in both Spanish and English.
Also, it could be possible for Argentina to allow their ego to affect their performance, still holding that sense of being the world champions, but I would not underestimate them either, you know, they are quite a professional team and they must be aware they need to continue to work and train for the Cope America and the next world cup.
Here in Venezuela we are still holding our expectations on whether we are going to even clasify for the next World Cup, it is still very far from happening, however the mere fact it could be an entrance for us to participate is more than enough for people to feel hopeful and optimistic on the future of our national selection.

I don't believe that EGO can hinder the performance of the Argentine national team. They have been playing consistently for many years and are always competing for titles. It's no wonder that they have reached the final twice in the last 3 World Cups (2014 and 2022). This generation of Argentine players is very good.

Many people underestimate the Copa America and even South American soccer, but you've made a good analysis
Throughout Messi's era (and others like Di Maria, Tevez, Mascherano, Aguero etc), Argentina only managed to win it once in 2021
In 2016 Messi won the Ballon d'Or, and even then Argentina lost to Chile in the final

In my opinion, it's great to see other teams winning a competition because it's more exciting, there's more interest from those countries and in general it makes soccer evolve because the big teams need to change and correct a lot of things

Schedule matches of Copa America has the same with Euro 2024 make many fans expected for watching Euro but Lionel Messi attention make Copa America will be difference and many fans waitibg for him apearance with Argentina. Lionel Messi won Copa America 2021 and become his first Copa America trophy although he was won World Cup 2022 but continues impressive perform by winning Copa America 2024 mske him become strong candidate for winning Ballon d'Or 2024.

Argentina has more than 80% of their composition teams for Copa America are the winner of World Cup bu some player have been absent lile Paulo Dybala after his name not in the Argentina list team.

Without going too far, the --Messi effect makes one believe that Argentina dominated the Copa América in the Messi era, and when you look at the data it is surprising that it has won it only once in 31* years, and that is when you think how it is possible, well... it is point, now Pointing out Argentina is not entirely reliable, in fact it should not be one of the candidates, unlike Brazil which in that same period of 30 years has won it 5 times, which is a fairly high percentage taking into account that they have been 12 editions (1993*).

Did I say I really like Uruguay? I completely overlooked how Ecuador seems to be brewing up a mini golden generation of players, too. Not sure I've ever recognised this many names in their squad... Valencia seems to still have his scoring boots on from World Cup, Caicedo (not Moises haha) snuck a goal in yesterday, I think it's just a huge shame about Estupinan otherwise Ecuador would be considered a dark horse.

I'm going to take part too and I've already posted there to let you know
I think we'll get 10 people or more hehe

It'll be nice to discuss with more people here too, as it's always difficult to find many people to exchange information and tips about South American soccer

Counting on you to tempt a few more Brasileros to the pool, we're almost ten now, without relying on pool veterans. Tell them they have to be campeão do mundo in Bitcointalk Copa pool haha, that usually gets Brazilians going Wink

Yeah!!!

Most people are very convinced that Brazil or Argentina will win the Copa América because they are two national teams with a good squad of players, but they forget that in the past Argentina and Brazil also had a good squad and it was even a much better squad than the current squad and even so there were editions of the Copa América in which Brazil and Argentina did not win, looking at the history of Copa América winners:

Without going too far, the --Messi effect makes one believe that Argentina dominated the Copa América in the Messi era, and when you look at the data it is surprising that it has won it only once in 31* years, and that is when you think how it is possible, well... it is point, now Pointing out Argentina is not entirely reliable, in fact it should not be one of the candidates, unlike Brazil which in that same period of 30 years has won it 5 times, which is a fairly high percentage taking into account that they have been 12 editions (1993*).

What are their current chances? I think there's nothing convincing them to be able to show something surprising later.

For years, Brazil has been the favorite in every tournament, continental or international. There's no need to make any surprises, just look at their squad and squad depth, isn't that enough to consider them champions in this Copa America?

Neymar is certain not to play, and it is certain that this will affect their performance later, so even though Brazil are favorites after Argentina that does not mean they will definitely be strong challengers for the reigning champions.

You live in the old world, there are no more Messi, Ronaldo or Neymar. We have sufficient regeneration, and for Brazil we have Vinicius who has proven his achievements at club level.

I still need a few days to make a better analysis, but I think Argentina is favorite here
Brazil and Uruguay are always the favorites along with Argentina, but at this stage, I see them as the favorites
It could be Messi's last competition for Argentina too, if he doesn't make it to the 2026 World Cup

Neymar Jr was a very good force in the Brazilian squad but due to his numerous injuries have made him decline in performance instead the player to look up to now is Vinicius Jnr.

No surprise. Most people follow the favourites, and these are the ones with the most obvious talents (also the most populations, so seems logical they have so many players). I put my backing behind Colombia before and stuck with the same in Superbru but I've liked Uruguay a lot now. The guy everyone hates was there for a long time (Suarez), and now the guy everyone hates these days is also there (Nunez). I like their chances. Bielsa's methods are best for knockout tournaments, really.

Now go join the pool Tongue

Last season's Copa América ended in a fierce contest, with Argentina beating Brazil to eventually win the title and the achievement was a huge achievement for Argentina as Argentina beat Brazil at home last season. The competition may still be some time away but the Copa America excitement is already spreading. On social media, Argentina fans are posting various posts about their respective teams, while Brazil fans are highlighting their team's strengths and sharing their optimism about their team on social media. This season, like other seasons, the Copa America title between Argentina and Brazil is not possible for any of the teams because I don't see much hope for the other teams.  Best wishes to my favorite team Brazil, Brazil football team.
Brazil and Argentina team was excellent and  both teams gave their hundred percent to win the match but Brazil lose the match by 0-1 . In the next Cup, I think Argentina will be more strong because their players are looking in good form and they did lot of work on team . Otamendi did goal for Argentina at the 63 minutes after the start of match. Messi isy favorite player and he could not perform well in this match  but his team won due to great combination but goalkeeper Martínez stoped many goals and that is major cause of their win . Argentina passes were more in number and that were 425 but Brazil passes were 400 . Brazil got 1 red card but Argentina got no red card and they played smoothly in the game.
