From the time being it would be hard for another crypto currency to replaced Bitcoin because of its value that is too far from other crypto currency it would take years before another crypto could replace bitcoin unless investors would not support bitcoin anymore.

The short answer is Yes
Why?
Because can BTC replace USD, the answer is no, why?
Because miners need to pay their electric bills and hardware in fiat, in other word bitcoin can not replace fiat but something else can.
Tokens can replace bitcoin in the long run, not cryptocurrencies. A new form of economy can take place where everybody will exchange Tokens, we are few years away from this I believe.

i do this question because i´ve read in this website issues with bitcoin, slow mining process, high fees, etc. and i´ve read too good reviews of some altcoins, ethereum (smart contracts), ripple (for transfers between banks), dash and nem. these altcoins called 2.0. could bitcoin become just in future virtual gold reserved to companies and rich people?
Maybe it will happen but we don't know what will happen in the future, bitcoin is the first coins lunched in cryptocurrency  world so presently many users who still believe in bitcoin because of being profitability and others they made of their source of income. Also atcoins are profitable but still bitcoin now is the best thats why we could conclude that theres some altcoin who overtake bitcoin in the future.

Theres a possibility that it can happen in the future. All of the other cryptocurrencies including bitcoin has its own capabilities and have the potential to grow and develop. I think in the future, there will be new cryptocurrencies that will rise and may surpass bitcoin. As a result, people will tend to use the new and improved crptocurrency rather than bitcoin.

it can be happen.
no one can replace bitcoin, now he will long live and be forever one in cryptocurrent
you have to watch in www.coinmarketcap.com, tools, global charts, the last chart about percentage of capitalization of the main coins. look how the dominance of bitcoin has reduced since end of february 2017 even considering the amazing uptrend in last months.

Thingking that way even you dont know bitcoin that much is not really understandable well people talk about this way because they tend to criticize evrything even they dont realy know much about something. Nothing could replace bitcoin because it has a headstart of a years to grow than new cryptocurrencies.
Bitcoin can’t replace regular currencies, because it is not a real currency and even lacks everything that is required of a real currency. It highly volatile, but real currencies are a near stable, and a little bit volatile (they maintain a stable price for a long time). Bitcoin is decentralized, but real currencies are Centralized. Bitcoin is not conventional, but real currencies are conventional. With all this, there is no way bitcoin can replace Fiat.
Why not it can do anything because the bitcoin is helping a lot of the people because the demand of the bitcoin is now high and the present time is the time of the bitcoin not of the fiat. Now a lot of the people are using the bitcoin for the shopping and the bitcoin is now being happen to buy the money I am sure the profit of the bitcoin will be high if a lot of the people will give you the high income and the demand of the bitcoin will be high,

Well i believe only god knows about this kind of thing maybe we can only predict but we really dont know what would happen next.we can never tell what will be the next status of bitcoin because it is not really predictable.everytime the price may change that is why there is a big possibility that another coin will surpass bitcoin but maybe it will take a long time.
It is not far! If someday, on the world, all the people use Bitcoin to replace FIAT, the users will need to have a currency has the capacity to provide services to the entire user with long-term stability. But in the fact, look at the current system of Bitcoin, it is worse than other cryptocurrencies many much.

Most definitely could, although to be honest the momentum Bitcoin has had is difficult for any coin to compete with. While the tech is outdated people do see it as a good alternative to bank deposits, as it has better and more consistent ROI.

The thing is Bitcoin has and always will have the first-mover advantage. This is what is currently keeping it afloat. Without the first-move advantage it would be longgg gone by now. But also don't forget that many sites like Friendster and Myspace has the same advantages and failed in the long run and were overtaken by better companies, therefore if Bitcoin does not fix its problems quickly it could go down the same road that they did.
But the biggest difference is that bitcoin is not like those companies, it is not going to be easy to move all the money that is currently in bitcoin to any other currency, even if they claim that they have a better technology than bitcoin, and by the way, most of the time that is not true and it is nothing more than hype to make people invest in their coin.

Nowadays Bitcoin cannot be replaced by another crypto as it differs from all virtual currencies. However, we all understand that the day when another, probably more powerful perfect for all currency will appear. But not earlier than in 5-6 years.

So many alternate coins that seems to have potential to follow bitcoin in the crypto world. But as long as bitcoin is still around, i don't think any digital currency can take bitcoin's shoes, IMO. So i just say they can follow but can not match or surpass bitcoin's market value and dominance in the cryptoworld.

it is still possible but surely there will be more years to come and itvwill be hard for fhat crypto to surpass Bitcoin for becoming the no.1 crypto since its market value is now more expensive than before and yet, it is still continuously rising. Bitcoin is becoming legal to more countries and it will make Bitcoin a more successful cryptocurrency in the future.

it might be possible but it is going to take a longer time, bitcoin is still doing well in market right now, so any coin that will take it place will have to be stronger than it and i dont think any coin can do that in the next 10 years

I also thought the same, now bitcoin become the strongest one.
The price is many time multiple compare with the other.
