I actually realized something now everyone should concentrate on how to increase the number of countries that play cricket. That seems a much more relevant problem right now rather than just increasing the facilities and other things among the teams that are already playing at the higher level of cricket. because without the participation of a lot more countries cricket is never going to be as popular as many other sports like football. Unless this fighting for power ends that is certainly not going to happen.

Ever since I started watching cricket there were 9 test teams, in 1999 Bangladesh joined in and since then  there is no addition of proper country in cricket. Rather Zimbabwe test status has been cancelled. So at the moment 9 test countries are playing. In first 2 decades of 2000 ICC failed to produce any test team, thats astonishing.

It might be a really good idea if this thing is handled by both Cricketers and Businessmen because they really need to understand that a businessman will always think about money. and a cricketer will always have the knowledge of what to do because he has experience in actual cricket.
So, I think it will be a really good idea if both types of people come together to build up a good partnership and I think that will be the best process for the upgradation of Pakistan cricket. And I really think this is why India has really good viewership and their pipeline of young players is really strong.
No doubt its good idea they can create two posts like Chairman and CEO with this we can produce good combination one businessman and other good cricketer with administrative skills, but this all is not easy to settle because here we have too many other problems as well which are not helping anyone like foremost need to clear all authorities from political wings because it's just like a cancer which is eating all secondary here things are not good as we have in European countries they are doing good jobs for their countries and for better future of sports here in Asian culture we have no balance like this mostly they fight for power and mostly it's end in very bad way like government have to involve for all settlements, or we have some good corruption charges against each other which also create some big issues.

Pollard is almost 35 years old, and he has another 3-4 years left in the IPL. Can't be sure of anything, because Chris Gayle is 42-years old and there is still a lot of demand for him from various franchise T20 leagues. So he may remain in franchise cricket for much more than 3-4 years. And right now, he is one of the most valuable players in the IPL. Mumbai Indians have performed pathetically so far this season, but all the blame is falling on Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma. Pollard has so far performed in a satisfactory manner.

Even shahid afridi is playing T20 leagues at the age of 41 years, he has graced PSL this year by announcing his retirement from this league. Ishan is rightly criticised, I think management of MI who put huge money on such player need to be criticised firstly. Rohit sharma is Indian team captain and such performance is unacceptable from him.

This explosive all-rounder is set to still continue to play this season that is expected to provide firepower. And hopefully by next year, he will be part of the T20 or T10 leagues which i think will be more visible as he has just resigned from an international cricket. With all the experience and skills that he has achieved, i think everyone is excited to see his next journey apart from being an international cricket player.

@Sithara007 it’s a logical decision as he’s more suited for T20, plus he’ll make insane amount of money playing in all T20 leagues then he would have made while playing for WI. However I’m hoping that he moves on from MI,
next season, because they need to reset their squad in next year’s auction, and while he has performed well in few matches I had way more hopes from him so I’m kinda disappointed by his performances too.

^^ I still think that he has a lot to offer to t20 cricket. And at 35 years old I think it's a good decision for any player to retire from the international arena. Because if he was still playing in the international arena he would have had to face a lot of challenges including ODI and test cricket. And at this age that is certainly not suitable for the player's body. I think it is the right decision to take and he made a good choice.
But, I also think that he really needs to move on from his present IPL team because right now it seems like he will be best suited for other teams.

Kieron Pollard, the West Indies captain and allrounder, announced his retirement from international cricket. A lot of candidates are in line to fill Pollard's shoes. We had a fantastic time watching you work. Have a happy retirement from international cricket. While there is controversy surrounding Pollard, he did not promote national cricket. Instead, he put his best effort into franchise leagues around the world. He could have served the West Indies for many years! Sadly, his time is up.
His 15-year international career has come to an end as this will make rooms for the young but deserving veterans that will carry the game forward on to the next level. His efforts and all his hardworks were greatly honored and could expect to leave great impact on the members of his team. For now, i'm sure the team is up to looking for someone who can be as good as Pollard that can definitely create positive improvements for the team.
The performance of Pollard is experienced much on the IPL and other premier leagues and not on the international matches for his country. This time he wasn't able to perform good for his Mumbai Indians team. As said, he's a positive player and an all-rounder. He is one among the best in the category fielding. West Indies players are full of fun and Pollard is no exceptional.

He has been a great entertainer for the whole world. the international stage is surely going to make him.
By the way, did you know that in T20 he has hit more sixes than fours? On both the International stage and IPL, he has the record of hitting more sixes than fours Smiley.

Anyway, I thought this was something that was interesting to share. and him retiring from the international stage is surely going to give the newcomers a chance of proving themselves.

Right now with political instability nothing is sure what's going on and how they are going to handle this all but one thing is sure Shahid Afridi is never been good choice for anyone because he is just cricketer with having no proper education and good experience, so I am feeling he can take job as selector or chief selector but for post of PCB Chief Executive is too early for him as it needs some good qualities and good experience he just retired from International cricket and now suddenly for this job for me, it's a just jock but here in Pakistan anything can happen because they have history of things like this.

For fans base or viewership I surely believe they have never been can compete with India but in quality this competition is going to be good as both leagues can produce good and talented players for own countries.

Its PCB that allowed Shahid Afridi to continue playing for 20 years despite his poor average in both batting and bowling, he only has good strike rate nothing else. For PSL, PCB need a mature player or businessmen who can foresee things and have good administrative skills.
India is a country with population of 1.3 billion people all crazy for cricket, so defiantly that counts when you have viewership of IPL.

Shahid Afridi taking the authority of PSL will be good, but the major focus of these leagues were much upon revenue and not upon development of cricketing. So, it'll be good to add a business person along with the Shahid Afridi. Pakistan to compete against IPL is not an easy thing and it takes time and much money. As in the above quote, the viewers within the country is more than enough to make it popular than any other leagues conducted around the world. For an information, the viewership on the platform hotstar reached 8.3 million during the last over played by Dhoni against Mumbai Indians.

Competing with the IPL in the middle of all the problems that Pakistan is facing right now is going to be a really hard job for them.

I am not saying that it is impossible but the amount of popularity and impact IPL has is just unbelievable. and to be honest they truly do not even need the whole world to see the IPL. Their own population is good enough to generate a good amount of money.

It is going to be really interesting if Shahid Afridi actually takes the job. I have always liked him as a player and he has a really good sense of cricket. so I think it will be really great for Pakistan overall if he is in the authority.

I think Rameez Raja should continue, the change in the political climate might see a change in that aspect but i think he did a good job and the win against Australia showed how Pakistan can improve their game and if he is able to appoint the correct coaching staffs and help grooming young players then it would be great.
He even said about changing the structure of PSL to compete with the IPL and i am curious to see how much change he can bring and a direct competition will bring any benefit for the regional players.
Things are not clear because right now we have few doubts who are coming or who is leaving I was reading on few sites Najam Sethi ex PCB chief is doing monopoly for having this post again and interesting we have another candidate even I am 100% sure he is not going to take this post because he is not eligible for this, but he is working and trying to contact with relative peoples SHAHID AFRIDI.
A surprising candidate for this post but most chances RAMIZ RAJA is having good time in office and few peoples in current government set up also like him, so he will be carried on for his tenure, and then we can expect someone from these peoples.
He can change structure and can bring some good changes, but surely he can't compete with this IPL because market is big difference and India is having some good advantages which are not possible for PCB and Pakistan.

Sethi has nothing to do with cricket he is just journalist who sold himself to current government of Pakistan. Ramiz brought back PSL to Pakistan while Australia toured Pakistan in his regime. Next England and NZ are also coming to Pakistan. It will be loss to Pakistan if they exchange Ramiz with sethi.

I agree - Ramiz Raja was a good change, and people were not very happy with Najaam Shetti. I am not Shetti follower but I watched one of his programs where he suggested Mufta Ismael to go to IMF. He is sharp, crook and is too much into politics - on the other hand Rameez Raja is more toward the sport. That is my opinion you may disagree.

Ramiz has said that he is asked by new prime minister of the country to continue as PCB chief. He has no doubt done great services to Pakistan by bringing Aus to Pakistan after 22 years. Now international cricket is returning to Pakistan and hopefully top players will join PSL.
Aussie coming to Pk and return of International cricket is a good step by Rameez Raja and what Ramez Raja said I wish if this is true. I personally think that Rameez Raja is better choice and we have see much of good cricket in last few months.
I wish and hope that Pakistan progress and we see it emerging on the world map .
