I can't believe a few people on TV are blaming Dhoni for the loss. It was 4 for the loss of three wickets when he came in and also he got out because of umpire decision . Those who are blaming him absolutely knows nothing about cricket .
Rohit Sharma almost pulled off the victory for India along with Dhoni but they needed the middle order to stand up which they didn't. I hope that this now brings the Indian team back down to earth after winning the test series. I think most were over confident and same goes for most of the Indian fans with most saying that India will easily beat Australia. Well ODI is completely different game and with the fresh new team Australia has they have nothing to lose in this series. I look forward to the second ODI match on Tuesday.
Can't believe that after making such a score by Rohit how India lost the match. It's really unexpected. Also, By the way. Australia did very well both in their batting and bowling. I hoped Australia will lose but they won. Now that India will realize how much weak their middle-order batsman is.
If you loose three wickets at the top in quick succession, it is very difficult to chase and there was no real support after the dismissal of Dhoni, India is lacking a good player to hold one end and with the world cup around the corner they should find a fix for this problem. When Rohit was striking good the other batsmen also failed to rotate the strike and hold one area, hope they will bounce back in the next match. 
Right now there is a big difference between the odds for India and Australia. At present the odd for India is found above 5, while it is found less than 1.2 for Australia. I believe this match will go so close at the end, also taking the test series win we cannot conclude it will be winning for India, but it has lot of chances if the middle order batsman give a strong support in scoring.
Sharma done great job but they was not near to win as early damage done all for India and Dhoni is also gone after completing his half century but good match with full of entertainment by Sharma look like this series is going to be very interesting as now India need to give good reply after this lost.Pakistan as usual top order completely fail and 2,0,0 is from top five is not enough for saving whitewash now Baber and Sarfraz trying to do some recovery which is very hard job for them until luck 111/5.

Infact the real sad part is that their were two batsman Rohit who opened the inning and made 133 and Dhoni at the end made 51 and inspite of this the team lose the match. Now this is something which will be pinching India that slight effort extra would have made then match win.

By the way, South africa and Pakistan's match is having twist. Earlier I though South Africa will easily have a minimum of 300 leads while now they lost 5 wickets with a lead of 212 and possibly end up before 300. It's only 2nd day stumped. I think it will not take even the forth day, lol. Pakistan will lose all wickets tomorrow if South Africa can't bat more than 1 session.

OZ got the right start after losing the test series by winning the 1st ODI. Their middle order had really played well and helped them to reach 288 runs. The chase would never be easy and India could not capitalize the Rohit innings of 133 runs . India required some one to give company to Rohit on pitch but middle order collapsed and lost the match by 34 runs.

I don't mind this scorecard. Much needed reality check for Indian middle order batsmen. it can help the team in the long run. We only have around 11-12 match left in World Cup, so middle order batsmen need to get their shit together in a pressure situation like this. Dhoni should play a long inning, and hope 2019 brings him good luck. he didn't score much run in 2018
India are in big trouble losing 3 wickets in the first few overs for only 18 runs. Dhoni will need to bat well to get India out of trouble and try and get as close to the Australian target as he can. India need 289 to win the match but it looks like it could be a tough ask right now. India at one stage were 3 wickets for just 4 runs, Kohli only made 3 runs.
Well this is the first real battle for India. Playing good and wining is easy but with 3 wickets down and team chasing target of above 280, this is the real test now for the Indian batsman. Let see show the rest of the Indian middle order respond to this tough time.

I think kl rahul got in this unnecessary controversy because of hardik pandya.
I have seen the episode and did not really found the KL Rahul ban was justified. Yes when they are representing India they should be more sensible and mature and do not get so much carried away that they forget the rest of the things. This might just be the caution to the rest of the players when they go to any of the chat show now.
I didn't get the chance to see the episode yet and Hotstar already removed it. damage is done! Much needed Ban for Rahul one way or another, he needed a break anyway. that's another discussion that he deserve this ban or not but for now, they are coming back to India.

That's because of the one man army. Dhoni made it. He know how to play with such a young team. No one can deny that. When Sachin Sehwag left, I expected a huge bad season for India but they played still well as you mentioned. Dhoni has the power of maintaining a situation whatever it is and that's why he is called Mr. Cool, lol.
Well India have Kohli now. My opinion is that Kohli is a brand for the world cricket. As a captain he may not as good as Dhoni but he is not very less as well. India still is a very good team to beat anyone in ODI even my guess is that they may win this world cup too.Good luck India.
I don't believe it's fair to compare India's ex captain Dhoni, and their current captain Kohli as these two are different sides of the same coin while the former one is gentle, the latter is aggressive. I do believe team India are high on confidence, they just won their first ever test series in Australia but their all rounder Pandya has caused lot of unnecessary distraction for the team. I feel if team India is chasing they'll win as they have players who love to chase and finish, but if they're batting first then I would consider Australia favourites as their bowllers will put pressure on team Indias batsmen.
