To my knowledge Anurag also belongs to power hungry and corrupt family, it goes under the radar because he hails from Himachal.

Likes of Srinivasan-Pawar are worse breed and comparing with Shah's clan won't be right. Shah's family is Power-hungry for sure but it's true for every political family and tbh they earned it and they are not corrupt when compared to other political families.

LOL... I don't know much about Anurag Singh Thakur's family. And I guess hardly anyone outside Himachal has heard about him. I know that he is the son of an ex-chief minister, but mostly they stay out of media limelight. Even as the minister for Information and Broadcasting, I don't hear a lot about him in the media. And I am not sure whether he has any real power, because Jay Shah is the dominant force in BCCI as of now. So even of Anurag wants to do some corruption, it is highly unlikely that he has the freedom to do so.
In the political arena, he doesn't strike me as a bright one but I think in sports ministry he's okay-ish, most of the time he looks like a photo-op guy that's about it.

Corruption in BCCI at the top level is not a big issue anymore and we hardly hear anything nowadays but in State Boards, it's a different ball game and it has become such a well oiled machine that almost every party takes a cut.

Both Anurag Thakur and Jay Shah are a product of nepotism  but Mota Bhai's launda seems quite in administrative roles and not many people are aware of the fact that this mf got into an administrative job in his early 20s, mainly due to his daddy mota bhai so nepo kid does have a decade of experience under his belt and he's only 35.

Well, in the subcontinent you don't need this sort of qualifications, you are good to go if you are connected to ruling parties. One major difference is that in Indian state boards are largely independent and overall it's decentralized because different political parties hold stakes in each state board so need some sort of consensus or call it powerplay. It's more like you scratch my back and i'll scratch yours.

Anurag and Jay are nepo kids, but at the same time I would prefer them over the Srinivasan-Pawar mafia any time of the day. Today's kids don't remember what happened during 2004-14 (when UPA was in power). The corrupt duo of Narayanaswami Srinivasan and Sharad Pawar took control of both the BCCI and the ICC and they destroyed all the progress that was achieved when Jagmohan Dalmiya was in power. The last thing I want is to have either of these two in power ever again. Rupa Gurunath is still the president of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA), but I don't have an issue if the rot is contained in TN.

Have virtually no hope from the PCB, at the same i have full confidence that they will blow every good opportunity.

The thing is PCB is full of braindead individuals be it Rambo who was blabbing about "Blank check" or the new guy Zaka Ashraf who triggered a fair amount of people with the "Dushman Mulk" remark. FFS you are head of PCB, you can't be that unprofessional and play for the gallery when sitting at the top. In contrast look at BCCI, they might be corrupt af but they never say things like that or even react to these antics and give random interviews. They are all about business, that's it.

Agreed. BCCI is not even bothered about anyone else (including the PCB). They just want to maximize their revenue as much as possible. And the guys in power, be it Jay Shah or Anurag Thakur have done a great job in this regard. If PCB focus more on the PSL and media rights, then they would be in a much better position. Instead they are spending all of their energy in trivial things. Kicking out all the politicians from the PCB and handing over responsibility to ex-players may do the trick in my opinion. BTW, what is the qualification of Zaka Ashraf? Has he ever represented the national team?

The problem is Pakistan did try that. And it did not work. Pakistan actually fired the people who made that decision and appointed new people if I am not wrong.
Nah, PCB officials get sacked whenever a new gov comes into power. Rambo got a little bit breather though and it happened the first time.

Maybe the time has come for PCB to play some daring card. India vs Pakistan fixture in the ICC tournament does generate revenue, not the highest rating if we go by recent WC numbers but it's enough.

PCB could threaten ICC to boycott these tailormade (Keyword) fixtures, not publicly because it'd be dumb and they have already done that countless times. Instead, they should go privately when everyone is at the high table conference and pitch it. This move requires backbone, some planning, and most importantly for once PCB officials must think about Pakistan cricket first and not look for a shortcut or personal gains.

The problem is Pakistan did try that. And it did not work. Pakistan actually fired the people who made that decision and appointed new people if I am not wrong. So I don't think it is going to be a wise idea. But it is also true that Pakistan have to do something. Otherwise, things are not going to improve for them at all. I guess they should try something because they are already losing everything. The fixture of a whole tournament cannot be changed just because one team does not want to play right?

Compensation drama would be some fun for bystanders and it will surely provide some meme content so i am in for this scenario and will grab my popcorn lol

The last time PCB followed the compensation narrative, it blew back in their face and they ended up wasting millions only to lose a case and had to pay for all BCCI's expenses. Having said that, this time they might have some case because it's an ICC tournament but they have to play their cards right.

Last time they went through the legal route, rather than taking it up with the ICC privately. I guess this time they will be more intelligent. Anyway, PCB should not forget the fact that from next year onwards, their annual allocation from the ICC will increase from $16 million to $34.51 million. This huge boost is mostly due to the media rights sale for Indian region. IMO, the best possible option for PCB would be to follow a non-confrontational approach and get the best deal from the ICC. Zaka Ashraf needs to put some effort in this regard.

Currently, ICC having their own agenda just because of this we have green signal for the Pakistan from them about ICC Champions Trophy as I already mentioned many twists are coming in coming months with one thing is sure India is not coming to Pakistan for playing cricket it's 100% sure and now what will do ICC things will be clear in near future with most chances they will also go with India because currently in cricket we have all biased system which is going with India due to huge funds and finances.
Even I am not sure Pakistan will be host this event but in case they are able to do this with the help of ICC then surely this could be not profitable for them mean to ICC because Indians will be boycotted this and ICC can't afford this all due to huge share of Indians in media rights and other financial things.

@SATWAT we all know how this will play out don’t we because Pakistan will keep screaming and ICC will pretend to listen and then they’ll conveniently back out and then Pakistan will agree for a neutral host which will be Srilanka. Lastly if anyone is expecting any different outcome then they’ll be horribly disappointed because nothing is going to change so let’s not spend our time discussing it when we already know the final outcome.
No one screaming because in Pakistan mostly peoples are now understood ICC is not a sports organization it's just mafia which is controlled by BCCI with their money so if we have to keep things like this going in future this is not ideal for the game even no one is standing against this but still now all world is looking how they are doing just because of their media war and propaganda FIFA and not ITF already clear Pakistan for all games and countries are coming and playing without any problem.
So this is also fact IPL money is working, and they are enjoying with this all just because of this ICC is also not working for the development of this game as they are now also wanted strong hold of India on this game due to deep pockets.

I'm just going to be honest, ICC is literally a pussy. They have no backbone. Otherwise, they could have said that we do not care about India and we will go forward and make cricket popular in the whole world. But of course, they are not going to do that because India is generating around 90% of the revenue. India is also of course taking that chance beautifully. If it is already decided that Pakistan is going to host a tournament, I don't think there should be any discussion about it just because India is not willing to play in Pakistan. If this was any other team, that team would have ruled out. But of course, this is India we are talking about and they have great power over the ICC.

When you have no strong case in any organization and your money is also not works then things like these happen easily, I really appreciate ITF and its decision.

Hopefully now Indian will be also skipped this tour because this is already rejected by ITF and its tribunal as well so if they will not tour then they will be going into Davis Cup group 2 and Pakistan will be stayed in this group as winner.

https://www.deccanherald.com/sports/tennis/aita-loses-appeal-in-itf-tribunal-indian-davis-cup-team-will-have-to-travel-to-pakistan-2823399

Well, India won't be touring to Pakistan to play any sports whether it be cricket or tennis. I do not know the influence of ITF, but if we talk about cricket then ICC will definitely favor India and they will try their best to host the tournaments outside Pakistan even those which were planned to be hosted by Pakistan. They would not want an India to miss out on any tournament only because they can't visit Pakistan, rather they will move the tournament outside Pakistan and if Pakistan does not want to play, it doesn't matter to them.

Last time, the Indian tennis team visited Pakistan was back in 1964 and they won the series too but since then a lot has changed and now Indians have become a mighty giant in terms of ownership and resources of ICC.

LOL.. this is exactly what is going to happen. At the most, PCB can try for a hybrid model, similar to the one that was used for the Asia Cup. But then, only 3-4 matches will be hosted in Pakistan and the rest will be hosted by the neutral country (United Arab Emirates or Sri Lanka). And I don't think that a hybrid system benefits PCB or any other board by any means. PCB can bargain hard to get a fat paycheck from the ICC in the form of compensation. And at this point, this is the best thing they can do.
Maybe it's right time for you to laugh and have enjoyment because ICC is doing things which are not ideal for the sport and also for their good future with they are messing and creating problems for the development of the game as well because as we are watching if other sports organizations are doing fair things then why they are not eligible for this all even they can do without any problem and also here India needs to act as better partner of these sports and organization.

PCB is not strong enough to do anything with current ICC setup and due to pressure of BCCI but still many other and positive ways are possible to have this all without any third-party involvement, but they need to put their ego and pride behind which is really need of the time as well.

@Sithara007 the hybrid model turned out expensive for Pakistan if I remember correctly because there was a report which said that they had to pay a lot for the constant travelling. Further a compensation can be a good deal for them but it’ll also signal the end for any future ICC event which involves team India to be hosted there hence their best bet is to squeeze the maximum they can when ICC proposes the compensation idea.

I think in the end a hybrid model is actually what is going to end up happening. Because I don't think ICC can actually afford to not let India play. They are bringing the bread home for the ICC so to speak. And if ICC doesn't favour the breadwinner of the house, it is definitely going to be a problem. The viewership is going to be low. Icc doesn't want that. Probably the solution is going to be making a hybrid model and not giving any Indian matches in Pakistan. That is probably going to be the solution. But I don't think Pakistan is going to be very happy about that.

Finally, the main threat is clear which is whether Pakistan will host the 2025 Champions trophy or not, because as you all know all everything is clear but when the tournament came so Indian team said that they would not come to Pakistan to play and then tournament moved to another country but this is a problem with only Indian team.

The other team come to Pakistan but India do not come, but then ICC say that Pakistan is safe country, all the country will come in Pakistan to play the cricket, and PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf signed to ICC person that we will hosts, and if India not come so Indian team should need to give two points to every team and if they do this so they have a very low chances to win.
I also read about this, but I want to say this is too early talking about this all because we have nearly 14 months and many ups and downs can happen during this time and how this works in ICC event without India is also big problem because there is no doubt currently ICC having nearly 75% of their income from the India and if they will not participate then how things will work it's also big question which needs to be solved before this event.

With this all, ICC already signed this but in critical situations they will be never stand with Pakistan because in ICC all big countries favour India due to their own financial problems, so I also want Pakistan host this event but right now talking about this all and giving arguments are not right just wait and watch how things will be gone in near future with currently main target is ICC T20 World Cup which is going to play in the USA/West Indies and with this can Pakistan host PSL2024 because we have another announcement they are going to have General Elections in February 2024 this is also conflicting.
This issue has arisen with Pakistan hosting the 2025 Championship Trophy as India will not be playing the Pakistan Championship Trophy.  That's because they won't go to play Pakistan due to their political opposition with Pakistan and India.  All desi Pakistanis in the world went to play India will not go. Of course India will try to find an alternative for that because we have seen that India and Pakistan had a few matches in the Asia Cup but they didn't play there. So it is doubted by all that India will not participate to play Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan. Maybe India will shift their matches to some other venue they are claiming to play their matches in UAE. We now have to wait for some more time to see if India will play Pakistan in the 2025 Championship Toffee.

Lastly if anyone is expecting any different outcome then they’ll be horribly disappointed because nothing is going to change so let’s not spend our time discussing it when we already know the final outcome.
op I agree with you because if Pakistan makes this proposal to ICC again and again it will not work. If India doesn't want them not to play in Pakistan then ICC will be seen at some stage to arrange them in the place where India will play that is the job of ICC. However, by doing this, ICC is destroying the beauty of cricket itself. Because if every country in the world expresses interest to play in Pakistan, why won't India play? If Pakistan can come to India and play, then why can't India play in Pakistan?  This would have been possible only if the ICC had been neutral. If India doesn't play Pakistan in the championship, then it will be understood that ICC is never impartial.
