To equate bitcoin with criminal activity is ludicrous; especially compared to the level of criminal activity the United States dollar supports. The activity of the criminal is theirs alone and has nothing to do with the medium that facilitates it.
I think you can't blame bitcoin in their crime rate because crime is always there even though they don't have bitcoin on there place. We can't say that bitcoin causes crime because its a way to earn money not compare to drugs or other crime related things. So its not a cause of crime.
I doubt it. Criminality is everywhere with or without bitcoin. Yes it can be use in illegal act but illegal acts are already existed before bitcoin was born. For me, what ever technology will be invented, if a person has a criminal mind then there will always be a crime.

Recently this “Ransomeware" got viral and bring huge negativity on Bitcoin where its anonymous transaction comes in yet is also a Good thing because Bitcoin becomes more popular as they broadcast the malware attack worldwide xD See everything has a good and bad side no matter what it is. This is true. Criminals can now buy and do evil stuff freely because no one can knew their identity. And this is one of the thing that I can see as an advantage of using Bitcoin.
Criminals can still do whatever they want. Even before that bitcoin was not yet created, criminals and their evil doings still executed. They can do these things if they really want all for the sake of money. But it is much easy for them to do these things because bitcoin does not need any information coming from its client. So doing criminality is easy.
