You list is good as it contains all the general necessary conditions to be a successful gambler. I would like some more important points to it. A gambler should not let ego come in his way. I've seen this be the downfall of what otherwise may have been a good professional gambler. Then you must not let the highs and lows affect you. If you cannot do this then you need to find another profession.

Criteria of a good gambler from my personal experience into gambling is to stay within limits and have expectations to a certain limit. When the expectation to win big strikes the mind automatically the risk that associate with gambling will also turns big which needs to be eliminated from the thought.

I think one of the major criteria that you have missed in OP, is that a good gambler knows how to correctly balance risk and reward, and has a correct understanding of the true odds involved, without having their perception warped by media or promotional content.

For example, a good gambler knows that although the lottery has a $100m grand prize, there is a much less than 100M/1 chance of him winning by buying a dollar lottery ticket. Whereas a good gambler would rather bet on the $1m grand prize lottery that has a 1.5M/1, as statistically his equity is higher.

As for being warped by media, most new gamblers are warped as to the frequency of winning based on what they see on TV, when reality this neglects the millions of people that didn't win.

It’s true because we can only think of these characteristics of a good gambler. But here is one thing that I would like to mention which is that every gambler can become a good gambler so I don’t see any criteria of a gambler. You said good gambler has some strategy with him but I would like to clear your concept here that gamblers have no strategies as gambling is luck based thing.
Anyone who can absolutely control themselves when it comes to gambling will always and easily be a good gambler simply by stating that what makes up a bad gambler anyway is the inability to control themselves until they finally become addicted and that is where the whole problem starts.

As long as you have the urge to gamble but can still place your head in the right direction without your impulse of thinking being affected then the rest is just going to be not easy even when you are losing. Moreover, there cannot be any single definition of being a god gambler due to with frustrations, a gambler may opt for anything.
Neither I think gambling as some good activity nor I will dare to make a good gambler category. If someone would be really smart, he won’t be found doing such lame activity in the first place. However, there is no doubt that a gambler who sets limit for himself and remains within those boundaries, he will be safe at the end. The amount lost will not hurt his capital a lot but remaining within limits is difficult.

It is easy to put down list for the criteria of a good gambler but its always been a reality that only few could follow. But for me, if a gambler could know its limitation and have the ability to follow and avoid greediness then he/she is already posses a criteria to be called a good gambler.

I do accept all the things OP says but if you are an addict you wont see those things Cheesy, first and foremost you must treat gambling as only a fun thing rather than taking it too serious and playing with some serious money, i am always careful what i am doing and i would rather spend once in a while to have fun.

Balancing risk and reward can come out easily for someone who is trading and not gambling, because it is better you even zero your mind entirely on reward and focus your mind fully on the risk involved which would help such a person realize that it is either they are losing or they are still losing and even if they win at all, they should just thank their stars for that period only and whoever cannot attune their mind to that fact should just not gamble at all.

No gambler is good. No one have such potential to change the mind and convert the whole scenario. People from diverse environments are continuously gambling in different corners of the world. Some say, they will be controlling their mind and hands and limiting themselves just to become stronger and don’t become an addict. But in the end they are just addicts who are striving for bad money.

I think what makes a good gambler is pretty much exactly what makes a good trader.

First one is years of experience. Experience is something that can't be taught it's something that you must live thru.
If a gambler has decade years of experience he can make smarter decisions than a new gambler.

Second is a huge capital. Basically it's very difficult to trade with a small capital. It makes you take larger risks and if you get too many losses in a row, you will be completely cleaned out. Gambling is no different. If you got a small capital you will be taking larger risks and end up risking all your savings. Those decisions will affect your judgement and will make you second guess yourself.

- A good gambler must be someone who knows clearly that gambling cannot be a way to make rich. Impossible !

- A good gambler must have strategy to join the game. He knows when to stop and when to go on.

Extra: An excellent gambler should know how to simulate the game before he really join the game.

To sum up the whole page:

1. Don’t tilt
2. That’s it

 Cheesy

Gotta say, from my own experience, tilting will drag you to hell
You lose 0.01 btc and want to get even, you lose 0.02, 0.04
And then.. instead of cutting losses, you tilt
You know you don’t want to risk 0.08 0.16 0.32 but you do it anyways because you tilted
You want to get even so hard you stop caring you can’t afford to lose new bets

I don't agree with rule #1, a good gambler never chases the profit.

Probably at least 90% of all professional gamblers do so for the profit, rather than for the thrill or entertainment. There is no point saying professionals don't chase the profit because it is obviously not true. That being said, they probably don't chase the profit in an illogical, unsustainable way, e.g. Like those fish you see going all in pre-flop 10x in a row with nothing. The rule should be amended to;

#1 Gamblers chase the profit, but know when to take a break.

the most important factor to become a master gambler is to set the mindset. He reminds you not to ever approach the gambling place, if your heart and mind are not in an unstable state. A positive mentality and high confidence will support the emergence of intuition and sharp instinct. A clear mind and a strong mentality are needed when you are required to decide a step in a game.
You don't have to master in gambling just to be called a good gambler and while in starting if you have a good mindset that will let you not to win instead having won win good values that you can say that you can control whatever you like to do you are already a good gambler.

Well basically it should be someone who can think clearly in any situation and can control himself whatever happens. It's a game of emotions. If you lose yourself over your feelings, then most of the time you'll be wasting money. If you know that it's something that's not to be taken too seriously, then you fit the criteria of a good ans responsible gambler

A lot of people wonder what is the criteria of a good gambler, here are some of my thought about good gambler

a good gambler never chase profit
Profit might be the first reason why people gamble, but a good gambler never attached to the profit, the most important thing in gambling is excitement and fun experience, having profit is just the bonus

a good gambler able to control himself / herself
Self controlling is very important in gambling, without a clear mind there will be a lot of mistakes in betting and even causing reckless betting and losing all of the money in split second

a good gambler know when to stop
Setting a limit is very important in gambling, setting a lost limit will prevent you to over spend your money and setting a win limit is  also important because in the long run the house got a bigger chance to win due to the house edge

a good gambler never cause any problem to the surrounding
A good gambler know that the chances of losing money in gambling is huge, so a gambler should never used daily needs money or borrowing money to gamble, and a gambler should never think of robbery or stealing to gamble

a good gambler can accept lost
When losing a good gambler won't blame the surrounding, cursing or accusing the  casino as fraud places, losing is the half part of gambling, if you can't accept lost then dont start to gamble

a good gambler should able to manage the time
A good gambler know how to split the time for family, for friends and for gambling, a good gambler never neglected family or friend just because of gambling

We must encourage people to become a good gambler, so people won't always have a bad judgement about gambler

Good job mate and thanks for sharing. All gamblers especially to the newbies should read your post to apply those criterias in becoming a good gamblers and to avoid in becoming an addicted and an irresponsible man. Those who gamble without those criteria always ended up a loser and nothing left for them even their family and loveones mostly.
Whatever you have written here, it just become useless when you think once about gambling. Do you know how bad it is for your life and for your financial status? Do you really know how expert people who had a long lasting tenure in gambling reacts to this gambling thing once they left? They all are cursing that particular time when they joined this game and ruined their lifestyle.

A good gambler would be someone who is adapt in varying, changing paths and strategies. If you think that you have victory and wants to have more, think about it, it might cost you more than you already have. One more thing is that to be aware of what has happened,if you have profited already or not.

In my opinion a good gambler is one who knows his limits and strengths. I have seen  players playing for low profit games just because they are more experienced with it. And that limit thing is important to ensure that you do not end in debt because of this habit.

Precisely, a good gambler is know how to limit and control himself to gambling not let gambling may control you.
So at this moment, it is better to have a mindset in gambling to know your limitation if where did you going to stop.
Based on have experienced gambler player, mostly have an opportunity to win and near in the luck.
I basically believe that there’s no such criterion of a good gambler as everyone can become a good gambler by simply applying some of the rules in his life. The first and the most important one that should be for gambler is that you have discussed in your comment that a good gambler is the one who knows how and when to stop and this will happen by simply putting limits on himself.
Yeah man! I think your concepts regarding the criterion of a good gambler are very much clear and it’s true that every gambler can become a good gambler because practice makes man perfect. If the gambler will give all of his time to gambling, then no doubt he will become a good gambler as his experience and practice will become greater than other players of same size.

Is it really exist? I mean, is there a good gambler out there? Gambling itself is a bad thing. How can someone becomes good at something that already marked as bad?
That is my point too. How even we think of a good person that comes in a bad thing and still become a good one? It is just become a scenario where people start calling a good killer to come and kill someone. Gambling is itself a harmful game and like you said we can’t even point out any gambler to be good. If he is not sincere with himself and his family what you are thinking of him then?

It's an interesting thought but let me tell you it's all about perspective
Does stealing a good thing? No, but why in the story of Robin Hood, he is consider as a good guy although he is a thief?
Are drugs a good thing? No, but when its being used for relief patient's pain it become a good things
Why gambling consider as bad things? Because there are people steal for gambling, bet his fortune in gambling table, even sell his home to gamble and that is a bad and irresponsible gambler
If today all of the gamblers become a good gambler, never harm anyone, used conscious mind when they bet, the society will never labelled gambling as a bad thing, gambling is just a game, a game for fun, its almost the same with playing arcade game, where you need to spend a coin to play
I agree with everything that you posted and people have different point of views and own opinions. That's why it's better to be a good person yourself even though some other people might judge you with it because that's not how they do it but still you need to be better in the long run.
It is just like I say that, that person was a good man although he is a robber or looters. In my opinion a gambler will never be a good person rather he is known as good in his town, but the question is that if he is good then why he gambles? Why he doesn’t leave gambling because gambling is bad and all those who gamble are also bad.
