That is my struggle whenever I gamble, I always lost track and I can not manage my greediness, my eagerness to get back what I have lose. This tips may help gambler like me who are actually lack on self control. Knowing when to stop is really important especially when you reach your target profit.
This is very funny lol, you don't have to be a good gambler you have to be good in gambling. In order for you to be good in gambling you have to be wise in making decisions and you also have to be well discipline. Lastly, the most important thing that a gambler should experience is the happiness and you enjoy playing every single round of the game.
I think it should be a wise gambler rather than a good gambler at all. In some cases like for example in Religion, yes, mostly people out there have their own religion and stuffs, some of their rules or beliefs are not to gamble any money, in other words gambling for them are totally bad. No good gamblers at all, well this is something to be fix because they see us as evil people in the society.
A lot of people wonder what is the criteria of a good gambler, here are some of my thought about good gambler
a good gambler never chase profit
Profit might be the first reason why people gamble, but a good gambler never attached to the profit, the most important thing in gambling is excitement and fun experience, having profit is just the bonus
a good gambler able to control himself / herself
Self controlling is very important in gambling, without a clear mind there will be a lot of mistakes in betting and even causing reckless betting and losing all of the money in split second
a good gambler know when to stop
Setting a limit is very important in gambling, setting a lost limit will prevent you to over spend your money and setting a win limit is also important because in the long run the house got a bigger chance to win due to the house edge
a good gambler never cause any problem to the surrounding
A good gambler know that the chances of losing money in gambling is huge, so a gambler should never used daily needs money or borrowing money to gamble, and a gambler should never think of robbery or stealing to gamble
a good gambler can accept lost
When losing a good gambler won't blame the surrounding, cursing or accusing the casino as fraud places, losing is the half part of gambling, if you can't accept lost then dont start to gamble
a good gambler should able to manage the time
A good gambler know how to split the time for family, for friends and for gambling, a good gambler never neglected family or friend just because of gambling
We must encourage people to become a good gambler, so people won't always have a bad judgement about gambler
Obviously, the above criteria of a good gambler are not owned by most gamblers and some gamblers I know. There are lot of gamblers in my place where they don't even have any single characteristic in gambling. Some people I know see gambling as a way to make living which is very wrong because there are no such assurance to earn money from it, instead, people are tend to lose money they have. a good gambler never chase profit

Well the said criteria really helps to know the characteristics a good gambler must possess and hopefully bad gamblers out there should apply all these.
There isn't nothing as criteria for good gambler, everytime when one gambles he should have some prior preparations. Few of which were the courage to spend, emotional control, understanding to take a break. Knowledge about more and more strategies that helps in minimizing the loss.
Such emotions only makes all fail for the gamblers, we need to take the marketplace value prior when we wish to invest on gambling field such gamblers might be good gambler in my point of view.
We need to control our emotional at the time we are loosing the funds, emotionally you can be strong then.
Gamblers will always have a bad reputation.It doesn't matter how "good" they are.People will always be suspicious when they meet a successful gambler.

This is the hard part. Let's face it MONEY is the prime motivation. I still believe every gambler started out looking for easy money, some just managed to transition to a more relaxed "whatever" attitude while the rest remain fixated on the profit. a good gambler able to control himself / herself

These are all the same thing, willpower. That is setting goal and limits and sticking to them no matter what. a good gambler never cause any problem to the surrounding
Now this one is just bad. Once you start selling your family's stuff and committing crime to continue gambling you've basically reached the worst addiction point. Either you destroy yourself from this or seek rehabilitation.

Wow great . So far I still cannot fully control my emotions when I lose. Sometimes it can, but it's not perfect. Maybe I have to be more experienced to be able to control my situation and my mind in playing gambling. But strangely I always can control emotions in trade compared to gambling, I think gambling has a greater psychological impact.
The gambler will not spend beyond his affordability. He knows where to stop and when to take a break, when to continue gambling. Most of the time gamblers go beyond their limits chasing the losses which is a trap for bigger loss. Very few get lucky to get wins while chasing the recovery of loss. One who understand and act to eliminate loss is the good gambler in my view.
Yup, that's the problem, many gamblers can't hold back their emotions and as a result they continue to pursue greater losses. Honestly, sometimes I also can't hold back emotions when I play gambling, but sometimes not, it depends on my condition when playing maybe.

That is good for you, and I am happy to hear that you can control yourself in gambling and I am sure that you make a limit in a gambling game, so you are not losing too much money. Controlling ourselves will be needed in the gambling, and that will not be easy because the feeling to continue the game will be there, and we can be hard to control if we don't have a strong mind to leave the site.
I can leave the gambling website anytime without any problem. I am glad that right now, I can control myself in gambling, so I don't spend too long to play gambling games. Besides that, I never spend all of my coins in one day, but I will keep them for the next days, so I don't have to deposit in every time I want to play.

we were talking about gambling here not trading . is that a typo or something ? hmmm .. though the risk are quite simmillar for both trading and gambling but i dont think that you can be a good trader just because you are good at gambling since gambling mainly depend on luck while on trading you need to be knowledeagble because you will be doing a research first before you invest on a coin especially if its a new coin . but self control can contribute alot on both acts .
usually quieter than gamblers who are still beginners, not tacky. he will lose and win with the same attitude. not much to say. good at reading situations in the game. maybe more or less like that. 
Being smart in playing certainly is indeed very good for the criteria of good gamblers. Because with that, any situation can be overcome. Smart play doesn't mean always winning, the advantage is that you can read the situation. Mandatory things should be owned by all gamblers.
These are facts about being a good gambler, your post really makes sense. People should stop being very emotional with gambling or seeing gambling as a source of livelihood. I like gambling, yeah, but since I'm no so attached to it mentally, I can never be an addict. It sucks seeing people fight, hurt themselves, borrow money or do other silly things because of gambling, it's never a do or die affair.

Greed is the biggest thing which can take anyone from heights to low and if one can control this one can raise from low to new heights. It is self control and the discipline that will help anyone to make money and not fall in the trap which can lead to addiction and can lose a lot of money.

Knowing your limit and having a self control can lead you away from addiction. But some gamblers forget that because of their greed to win and earn huge money through gambling/trading.If you apply to yourself what op said then you are in the right track.

The focus should be in trading as it's where we have a better chance of winning. Gambling gives little chance to win, but this one really gives a lot of entertainment especially when we are too stressed out in trading.
