Today its reached high value after a long time

I don't know what you are talking about. A month ago, BTC was trading at $800-900 levels. Now we are trading at almost half that level. Overall it is a steep decline in the exchange rate.
Well I think he means that we were 3xx-4xx value for several weeks, and now it's climbed 100 usd in 2 days~. Smiley

Today's High: $543.32

Reached $544.999 in BTC-E, before someone dumped 4,000+ coins in a few minutes. Still not much affected, as the prices are staying above $500.
Really, someone sold 4000 coins at 544? You'd think someone with that many coins would know that 544 is definitely not the highest price we'll see this month.

Right and they could have bought them all back just over $500 and made $160,000 not bad for a days work.
Ah yeah, of course. I didn't think that far. Damn, that's some serious profit.

No thats nonsense. If you want to buy 4000 coins now price would slip up to ~570 (bitstamp prices), so it would have been a loss.
Also however sold those 4000 coins (I personally dont think that it was one person) would not have sold all of them for 544, thats why the price fell. So the price for all 4000 was way lower than 544 on average.

However, when they bought them back, shouldn't the price have recovered to previous 544? Shocked

Traders panicked on the news that MtGox filed for liquidation now, and are afraid what 200'000 recovered coins can do if 'liquidated' on some exchange?
I don't think that a liquidator would dump those coins on the exchange.

yep, we're a bull market alright Smiley

we're going to spin between 490-510 until tommorow probabably and next week we could already get on 600$ Smiley
I'm hoping for a quick rise now, been too low for too long, it's demoralizing. Cheesy

think of bitcoin as a super-share, there is no share that grows as fast as bitcoin does Cheesy

love it because it's simply bitcoin Cheesy
It's true, but we'd need some major explosions upwards after the crashes, like a major web service accepting bitcoins or something alike.

btc high, btc low. its always a wild ride.
That's the nature of the currency. However it'll probably rise more than it sinks within the months coming.

I find it strange that this thread got moved to the beginners' sub-forum and not some of the troll threads that always seem to litter the speculation sub-forum.

Buy, buy, buy.  When it hits $1800 - sell.

Oh yes, this is something I have been repeating all the time. NEVER sell when the market is down. However, there are still lots of morons around who like to lose money on BTC or anything similar.

Yeah.  Buy high and sell low.  This is how the morons work.  No matter how you try, you can't convince them.  $1200 - they are buying.  $380 - they are selling.  What the fuck is that going to get you?

You need to understand why they are doing it. They dont believe the Bitcoin technology. They heard it has hit 1000 USD and jumped in. Saw it is falling and jumped out. They are the ones behind this whole range of shit-coins lurking around. They are the reason u & me are making profit. I love them.

Many of those people don't even know how bitcoin works. They probably just heard of "bitcoin" on the news.

Interesting how it went up in the night time (USA). Is it China buying?

The first big rise (~4.5k btc bought) on bitstamp was @ ~ 0900 european time.
I dont think a trend needs a reason.
