Sometimes there's this kind of feeling that Bitcoin is being treated as a taboo in discussions here. There are probably two reasons. First, Bitcoin is still not thoroughly understood by many. And it has yet to be fully disassociated from scams and other suspicious investment opportunities. Second, whoever claims that he/she has Bitcoin could be wrongly presumed rich. This is only my personal observation, though.

I am sure that people are more and more aware of the name 'Bitcoin' or crypto, but that dosen't mean they understand it or will use it. Especialy in rural areas where people might not have the needs to trade with it (general knowlage of it, personal infrastructure like computers or even public infrastructure like internet accessibility) or the means to invest in it. Until those issues are resolved steps towards their adoption of crypto can't be taken.

Bitcoin always started like that, just like us before, a lot of people knew about bitcoin from the early years but a lot of people didn't care about it but after many other encounters we just started to study it, we were intrigued by its volatility or its technology.

People in the countryside may not pay attention to bitcoin when they first encounter it, but when they have heard a lot about bitcoin, they will surely be very curious and want to learn about them.

There is no one who does not want to earn money or be financially free, so I believe that in the near future rural people will also invest in bitcoin or will use bitcoin as a means of payment for convenience benefits it brings.

Crypto and bitcoin are already known by rural communities but no one has dared to promote bitcoin to all the people where they live, because most of the people where I live most of them want instant results, even though we know investing in bitcoin takes time. it takes a long time, sometimes even the money we invest can stop in bitcoin, because of the price problem that sometimes drops which makes us have to be patient, but in the countryside where I live there are already several people who have adopted bitcoin, including myself, it took me a very long time to learn bitcoin, good luck he never got tired of teaching me about bitcoin, I hope that one day people who live where I live want to learn about bitcoin.

For my side, Bitcoin is no longer a new word , when you mention the word there is the possibility that the average person around you must have heard of it. It’s quite popular these days , but the only thing is that I don’t see people using it; it seems like they only want to talk about it and not actually put it to use. Though I can find people accepting it online, but it is not the same offline. But I do hope with time we will get to see more usage of Bitcoin  offline, and not just only online.

Maybe this has spread to even the smallest places because it's also the same in my area now that things like this have started to spread.
A few days ago my country celebrated independence and usually there are several celebrations and competitions held and I saw at a competition that was held to celebrate the independence there were several t-shirts worn by participants wearing crypto-related sponsors even though it said "Bounty and Airdrop" but this is still relevant I think and they know that this is part of Crypto but it's a shame I didn't take a picture at that time.

Even in my region we used to organise small tournaments in which teams surrounding our region used to participate. The spreading is taking fast phase from the bottom. Maybe the same can be done around to create awareness, even now very small percentage of the population know about cryptocurrencies. As small percentage is aware of it, there are people working full-time to make money out of them with false promises.

BTC, a coin of today and tomorrow.

Where I came from, gone are the days they see bitcoin as ponzi or scam, the stage they are now is that if they understand that you are into bitcoin genuinely, they will see you as an enlightened person who may be very rich in secret and they will like to associate with you. Since I notice the development I am happy.
If I travel in this Christmas period I will be able to organise any crypto awareness programme and try to educate some few persons I could educate. That will be with 24th of December, 2022  to 4th of January 2023.

🇺🇦 Glory to Ukraine!
I agree that the demographics and audience that crypto aims to attract may be difficult to reach right now. In order for this to proceed, Bitcoin businesses might need to focus on more low-income countries and arrange partnerships with internet service providers and cell phone companies. The goal is to present information about a way for people without access to banks or currency exchange (2/3rds of people in Africa live below $2 per day) gain access to digital currency. To accomplish this goal, it must be made available at an affordable rate in places where these people live, work, and receive an education. Regardless of age bracket or level of financial resources available, there are steps that can be taken toward making cryptocurrencies more accessible.

....a sponsor that said Crypto and there was someone wearing a shirt that said Bitcoin. This actually made me very amazed besides I was a little surprised because what I know around where I live no one knows about Crypto and Bitcoin.
I am also very surprised when seeing a sponshorship with Crypto.

Well, this is very unpredictable that actually many people around us may exactly know and live with crypto. But none will exactly rise it up to the society because we know how our society and also crypto news in the country. I think that we live in a similar country after seeing the photo.
Yes exactly, we commonly will not tell other people clearly that we are working or earning with crypto, but in fact, I also ever saw several times people holding their mobile phones and watching for the charts of exchanges. It seems that crypto is now not very strange in our society. But make it as a sponsorship, it's really amazing.

Which country it is? I'd like to know since it's a local football league, usually crypto project or business usually sponsoring a big or international league only. I think the country already accept Bitcoin as legal and friendly with Bitcoin, so no one worried if he's wear a Bitcoin clothes.
If not mistaken, this is in Indonesia. Here, crypto is legal as a commodity asset, but not legal as a currency.

I totally agree with you. For example, I read some days how bitcoins donated during one of its conferences was used to build a borehole to provide potable drinking water for a rural community in Nigeria. Those folks who live the this community just like you have mentioned may have heard about bitcoin but have no knowledge of how it is used. In the OP's case, I think that there may be one or two curious folks in the crowd who actually own some satoshis. Besides, Bitcoin is more popular than we know.

I thought it was only printed in the shirts until I looked into the posters outside. I am pretty sure that most of the people there already knew about Bitcoin since you mentioned it as a sponsor. Not familiar from the logo shown in the photos so I am pretty sure it is not here in my country which is kind of bummer. I would be so shocked in a good way when someone wears a Bitcoin shirt here in my area since people here around my area does not know what crypto truly is let alone Bitcoin.

I guess I also answered already your question on the condition of crypto and Bitcoin here in my area. I am still hoping that people around here in my area considers using it at least if not investing to it. I am not going to put too much effort letting people know about crypto in here since here in my block, people are close minded anyways. Cheesy

actually bitcoin and crypto are already known everywhere so no need to be surprised to see that, if I'm not mistaken it looks like this is one of the countries in Asia but I don't know where but I believe it's in Asia and as we know bitcoin and crypto are very well known too in the asia region
I believe bitcoin and crypto awareness will be easily spread even in rural areas too as some of them have installed internet already and that they can see everything about bitcoin and crypto being talked in the internet. So it’s not true at all that people living in rural areas are still deprived from learning new technologies as they can learn all they want if they wish too. Besides, bitcoin and crypto nowadays have already been the talk everywhere, so how much more if it’s global adoption will become successful in the end. Expect that all rural areas will be aware about it.

Hopefully in the future there will be more people who want to learn Crypto and Bitcoin here because I never tell about Crypto and Bitcoin to people around me. How is the condition of Crypto and Bitcoin in your area guys?
^ That was expected by us that cryptocurrencies will become a global alternative to currency or fiat.
I did not see the same as yours that someone wearing a BTC logo t-shirt but I saw last month a BTC logo on a car in my city, I am also amazed that I am not the only one who knows BTC in my place. In the games where I played, I usually see a name of cryptocurrencies like BTC and ETH. I know the owner of those account have an awareness of the cryptocurrencies and I think this is a good start of a global adoption.

With some plotting of our government for making rules about the regulation of crypto, it's starting to be known. Actually, it was already known. And I have started to see that the mindset and belief for bitcoin was totally changed. Before, it's just almost negative when they talk about bitcoin. That it's just only used for dark market transactions and not for mainstream use but this time, it seems to be okay to own and hold it or even you use it for payments. The outlook of bitcoin and the whole crypto market has became positive and that's good for everyone and to the enthusiasts like me that never changed our minds even for a single inch.

With this people of your location could've come to know about the term cryptocurrency. Slowly people start to explore. Even you can help them know about it. A person sponsoring football match and making displays around the ground mentioning cryptocurrencies is the right plan of him to make people know about it. Simple if the sponsor person say that he turned rich out of it, now onwards everyone starts learning.

Yes, it's hard to conclude if the man displayed on the picture is a bitcoin adopter without further evidence. There are people who simply think the logo design of bitcoin on the clothes is pretty and purchase it for themselves or to gift others. It's not hard to hear stories of people who use clothes or accessories displaying unknown symbols to them, and once they realize what they mean, people get really surprised sometimes.

Anyway, at least bitcoin is reaching to these people somehow, slowly and step by step on their subconscious.

So just hosting a normal tournament can do that? I feel like that's not right. Maybe sell tickets with discounts when they use cryptocurrency and give them a different ticket so you can easily check which one is a crypto individual and who's not. Or you could probably ask the individuals, it's taxing and annoying for the individual but who knows, it might get the job done.
How many persons will be willing to pay for a ticket to a cryptocurrency conference or tournament even with discounted offers. tournaments brings people of like minds together and when its done without a price tag it attracts even more crowd. If you were to ask individuals, how many persons can you really ask? How much patience and tolerance can you endure to see this work.

I look at this and what I see is how branding and branded materials is having a positive effect regarding increasing the popularity of bitcoins. As you took note of the inscription on the shirt likewise others who have taken note of it as well. It is good thing that regardless of government policies they do not affect wearing branded materials. Noticing that there is need to play a part, I advice OP that if possibly you take it upon yourself to maybe give out more materials branded with bitcoins. It could go a long way regardless of any limitations the government in your place has set.

First, the picture you showed does not look rural to me

This couldn't look better than being a rural settings, consider the sitting, the pitch and the natural grass, an urban football stadium couldn't have look like this, i think the community there are really football enthusiast to have decorated the match in this beauty, while the fan expressing thier interest on bitcoin.

yet it is good to see someone wearing a Bitcoin shirt. The awareness about Bitcoin is on and I know that with time the remotest areas of the world would hear about it.

Of no doubt, adoption is increasingly going higher everyday without a limit

But more civilization is still needed in so many rural areas because the challenge they will have is the lack of internet facilities, while some don't even have electricity. It will take time, sponsors and several awarenesses for this to be achieved in full.

This is happening already, a situation where no barrier can be made on bitcoin to be use as payment means, the mobile phone without internet is an example in one of the African countries.

bitcoin is not some AI. nor a robot with mechanical legs.

it cannot walk into your community and then teach people
it requires people to get involved.

i think everyone should do their little part. even as simple as set up a little location even if it is just at a locally known coffee shop. where by you announce in your local community via signage community message boards, or a local newspapers advertising column about a "bitcoin meetup" where people can come and talk/learn about it with other nice people.

see who turns up.
if enough turn up and they are already interested in it. you can all discuss what local retailers you all use regularly that you would like to see accept bitcoin. and try to find ways to make that happen(works best with independat stores not national chains)

simple things like if there is a regular btc buyer.. use that buyer as the gateway. where he will hand a retailer a QR code and will pay the retailer fiat for all BTC received .. that way the retailer gets fiat and the btc buyer gets btc.
then strengthen that if the retailer wants to be more interested in btc than just a random extra payment method.
