Reconstruction Medal

A scroll is opened and the herald cries with a loud voice:

"Reconstruction is starting, and the Town wants to recognize the characters who give their utmost to the effort. The King has promised to establish a Mint for the various minting needs of the Kingdom, and one of the earliest projects will be the minting of the Reconstruction Medal.

§1 The Medal is given by the Town Council for Valor in Reconstruction.

§2 The Medal is of 3 classes, Bronze, Silver and Gold (of the respective metals, material included), which may be given in succession but only one of each per character.

§3 The Medal is yearmarked, and the earliest year is 1600 and the latest is 1609 or the year when the Reconstruction has deemed to be ended if prior. (1601 is the first week since the launch of V.4: Reconstruction.)

§4 'From Each, according to his Capacity'. The higher status you are, the more you have to contribute to receive the medal. Nobles are not given bronze medals at all."

Lord binaryFate has been created Earl. "The Earl of (insert county name here!) has shown trust in the game at this interesting moment."

Lord binaryFate, the new Earl of Naoned is humbled by this generous promotion! Long live HM and our Kingdom!

Congratulations, my Lordship. And even the humble peasants profit: I, Anjeshka, now own a ring that once belonged to a lord! Wink

Be it notified that there is a rare opportunity to buy land in the Old Town Centre (1-C) just now available! The 2nd oldest tavern built in the Town, "Behind the Cathedral", facing the d'Armagnac square, with no conservation or building restrictions (except max height of 15 m due to the church nearby), and views to the d'Armagnac church, Town Hall and Episcopal Palace. Price is only 500 mil!

I'd like to buy it  Smiley

Sold. I felt that "do I really want to sell it - the historical, unique, building from the earliest decades of the town - for merely €250??" but I felt that somebody else can better use the lot now as the advertising value of having holdings in the landing screen becomes relevant. Sometimes it is time to let go. Good bye, Behind the Cathedral! Interesting to see what happens next!

Anybody knows if Crypto Kingdom graphics will be 2d or 3d?

It is 2d.

As the title says, it is a 1991-style Retro game.

I think if moneritos could be withdrawn and traded in some way, then people can buy and sell CK real estate knowing they can withdraw into the 'real world' if they need to, and that will attract more players/buyers, and so spread the early adopter risk among more people.

I was a little concerned earlier (see above) that the one way direction of XMR (in but not out) would eventually drive the CK property market into the ground making it a bad investment compared to just keeping XMR in your wallet, but the recent changes mentioned by risto in the last few days seem to recognize that potential, and the changes being discussed should prevent that from happening. Well done!! I think the prospects for CK real estate holding their own as an investment have increased substantially.

I would completely agree with this statement. The biggest way that you can get involved with Crypto Kingdom is to purchase either an empty plot of land or some land with a building on it already.   There is an entire subgame of developing buildings that would be quite interesting to some, I'd guess. You can check out the tutorial here:  https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1PhaDiDa3u6OfER48L571sV7ukpwPu7eau2mvsQgoQJE/edit#gid=524930243

Not only will this increase the ownership of the towns (diversifying them and thus increasing value), it will give people more of a "physical hold" on the game. You can *OWN PROPERTY* in the virtual reality that is Crypto Kingdom! Sounds crazy, but virtual property can increase in value, and those gains can be converted to real money.  Don't miss the train on the early game-it's still early enough that if you get in now, you can really be in at the beginning. Think about this: there are only 120 players in the game. If we get to 10,000+ players, you will be in the top 1% of land owners.  I wouldn't have minded being in that club when Second Life took off...

The value of this is compounded by the potential introduction of withdrawing Monero from the CK Universe. That makes this game a fully-operational entity, ripe for speculation.

Just something to consider.

is there a list of land/buildings or whatever for sale somewhere?

I have quite a few lots for sale personally. I am also formed into a company with SirJacket which specializes in selling lots in the East section of Borough 5 (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ln1LSQwPajGNMhtQ8LieWKyQ4rgo-Vnr6-NHkx-Ee00/edit#gid=1322758732)

If you're looking for something in particular, I'd be happy to try to match what I have with what you would like Smiley

Also the land trading has been opened.

About 26,000 mil worth of land (some including buildings) have been listed for sale. The owners of lots may list theirs as well.

Gold has risen 70% during the time land trading has been paused. It will be interesting to see whether the increased gold wealth will spill over to land trades. The town has kept its own selling prices constant, but some players have raised theirs considerably.

The ask prices for land vary widely, as is appropriate considering the variation of land quality:

- The most expensive lot per q is 1 q for 1,000 mil (1,000 mil/q). It is 1-N-J3 Earls' St. 3, the Soul Townhouse from 1436, the oldest completed house in the King's Park (the Royal Palace was completed in 1446).

- The cheapest lot per q costs 20 mil/q. There are several large and small options to buy land for 20-30 mil/q, which might not be a bad idea because the Town minimum selling price is 1,000 mil/chapelry and no land will be created before V.5, which means that (hopefully) the most new players cannot even buy land because there is not enough!

- Please check if the lot has buildings if the price seems too expensive.

If people could trade & withdraw moneritos somehow then I think the risks I mentioned previously (early adopters not being able to sell their property for a similar XMR value in the future) could be traded to others more easily. That would make things interesting! Earlier on land barons seemed to be buying for almost altruistic reasons to save XMR from the doom that was around in Sept/Oct. That's really cool but XMR looks strong now.

Why would you want to reduce risks for earlier adopters? The whole point of being an early adopter is to take risks, potentially rewarding risks, but not necessarily.

I think the longer term CK property prices (in XMR) are likely to go down for reasons already mentioned, so the early adopters are taking a double dose of risk (XMR into CK property), and likely rewards might be less than just leaving XMR in a wallet for later sale. I think if moneritos could be withdrawn and traded in some way, then people can buy and sell CK real estate knowing they can withdraw into the 'real world' if they need to, and that will attract more players/buyers, and so spread the early adopter risk among more people. At the moment I see the early adopters as benefactors almost, because 1000 XMR in a wallet will probably have a higher value than a CK property bought now for 1000 XMR. The upside for CKG is really good, but property I'm less certain off. I could be completely wrong, and maybe CK property will have extra utility that isn't obvious to me yet.

The Palace of Arda sold to Lloyd for 1,400 million.

As a sign of rejuvenated interest towards the game, the Palace of Arda (397 sqm) in a 2 q haw in the King's Park in 1-N, was recently sold to a buyer for a record price 1,400 mil. The record is for highest built land price per quadrat (700 mil). The largest single lot trade was the TIE haw (5,000 mil) and that will possibly never be beaten because the Town must sell whole chapelries for 1,000 mil and a chapelry is the largest lot size...

The Palace of Arda is ranked in the Architectural Musings of the King annals to be the 6th most prestigious Old Town palace, after

The Royal Palace (HM The King)
The New Liberty Palace (HH The Duke of NL)
The Episcopal Palace (HG The Bishop)
Jacket's Palace (HH The Duke of NF)
1001 Nights Palace (HE The Prince of OZ)
