R.I.P my friend,

On the other hand, acting slowly is not a sign any respect to the dead (unless they loved sloth in others while they lived, which few did).

Sir Rhadamanthus, The Marquess of Arda, CB, KFB  1370-1600.3

My loving People,

The Kingdom is in the midst of never-before-experienced turmoil. We have become to accept that what is circulated as a rumor, has proven to be true more often than not.

There is no denying - Sir Rhadamanthus, The Marquess of Arda, has died. We have become mortal.

Nobody had seen the Marquess since the Event of the Great White Light. It was unnoticed for weeks, as Arda was known to be a peaceful man who seldom appeared in taverns and was mostly tending to his School for Nobles and the plants in the gardens. The school had been closed, and nobody else had time to care about the Botanical Gardens - nor Arda - until...

...the King went to walk in the park (it was slowly becoming warmer) and was thinking what to do with Tavastia, whose palace was constantly reminding him of the scar in the relations, as he saw the Arda Palace as well (The King's Park has only 4 proper palaces lining it - The Royal Palace, the palaces of Arda and Tavastia, and the Jacket Palace belonging to HE The Prince of North Face - Baron sXpher has never had the opportunity to build to his lot, due to his many duties). The King decided to check what's going on with the Marquess and - found him dead.

It was possible to go unnoticed due to all the servants taking hostage in San Pietro, and Marquess as a kind man probably let them go easily. The King realized a new burden falling on his shoulders. Not only will the Town be in shock because of the mortality, also the practical matters necessarily fall upon the King himself since it is unlikely that in the realm of immortality anyone would have written a will, and the deceased was one of the highest and richest men in the Kingdom, making perhaps the Duke the only other one capable of being the administrator of the huge estate. And he is known to be busy as well.

Oh well, the time moves slowly in the Kingdom of the Dead, was the King's thought when he started listing the items in the estate:

12,785 CKG
1,730 CKS (receipts only, actual silver is nowhere to be seen)
Rhadamanthus' Palace 1-N, 2 q
Marquess of Arda School for Nobles 1-N, 6 q
The haw and the Botanical Gardens there, 1-NE, 16 q
The skilled workforce
65 gold coins including 3 TH sets that were sold at 10 mil/set until it was suspended but nothing other particularly valuable
1.45 million stone
Perhaps about 400 million worth of stock in 5 companies (trading is halted)
16 unique Items ranging from a 230-year old toybox and 100-year old Grant of Nobility to a carriage, Oil painting, Library and silver chandelier
some fungible silver rings and items including 6 wine cups, 80 CKS each
612 and change million overdraft with HM

What to do with all this wealth? Sir Rhadamanthus' motive for coming to the Kingdom had been to help Monero, and Monero needs helping. Therefore it is clear that the bulk of the proceeds should go towards development. The Marquess also had close relations with the Church, since both had similar missions in promoting and educating new players. The Church has had inspiring changes in management lately, so the Special Institutions might be best nurtured with them. The Palace and some of the items may be best sold right now in an auction, to preserve them from getting (further) spoiled by the Earthquake. The early copper and silver might better wait until itemized properly.

We the King are interested in giving the management of The Monero House to the Order of the Core Team and their appointed representative, upon the condition that the representative can spare enough resources to actually manage it. If their answer is not deemed sufficient, the Gold Selling Plan will occur, where the estate of the Marquess of Arda is incrementally liquidated in order to not affect the market, and sent to the devaddress.

The plans how to preserve the memory of Arda, whether to construct a memorial (other than the fine buildings that already testify of his life and work), will have to mature.

We would be glad to have an obituary from someone who knew him well.

Zephyrus closed the door to the Archdeacon's office and hastened back to the main cathedral floor, clutching the cloth containing the stained glass shard he'd found at the city's edge. He pocketed it swiftly, reflecting on the discussion he had just had. He thanked his good fortune for the timing of his arrival to Cryptotown as he emerged from a doorway opening to the cathedral's imposing floor, still filled with people. Commoners, mostly, but also some nobles. A luthier was playing near a wall, surrounded by people listening to the chords. Two people were crouching nearby, playing some kind of dice game. Further away, two people were engaged in agitated conversation, trying to keep their voices down for the sake of the building's purpose. Further away, a makeshift hospital was still occupied by a few people who had borne the brunt of the Shattering and were still being treated. Zephyrus started walking towards the hospital to continue caring for the wounded.

The Town has awarded Medals of the Game:

4th class to:
Lord Callixtus
Lord noms
Mooo

5th class to:
HE North Face
HE The Chancellor
Dame Asenath

The award happened in 1599, so the Medals are Ancient. In total, there are 15 Medals of the Game awarded "for valuable contributions to game design and development". The highest class awarded so far is 2nd class, and that has been awarded to HM The King, twice. 3rd class is awarded to HH The CEO, HG The Bishop and Lord sXpher, once each.

Your Majesty, I am honored and grateful to have been recognized for such a coveted award. Long live Crypto Kingdom!

Medals of the Game 4th class is quite a high honor and only a small group have earned it in all this time.
The Countess Roopatra, His Excellence Prince Karl, and my own self.
It is with honor and dignity that you are welcomed to this mark of achievement.
It is one that is only earned through extraordinary effort.

The higher MoG awards are far more rare, and we look forward to the progress and advancements of the Crypto Kingdom that is required to achieve them by any with the capability to do so.

When any of these MoG awards are granted, it is a mark that we all have won something from the further development of this endeavor, and thereby have good cause to celebrate.

A chalice is raised to all of thee.  Good form, and well done.

Zephyrus closed the door and sit wearily on the bed. The last few days were tiring, filled with constant care of the wounded. As soon as he reached the cathedral, Zephyrus was stunned by the concentration of people seeking refuge there. At least this explained why the town appeared deserted.

The small makeshift sleeping room in the cathedral's catacombs was small and dark, and yet a welcome place where to end Zephyrus' day. Joining the church had been a mere formality, as even the Bishop was so busy overseeing the emergency. At last, the work seemed to diminish, with only a small part of the town's population being more than lightly injured by the exploding glass. Tomorrow would be a less busy day.
