As cryptocurrency hasn't got much support from countries around the world, it doesn't serve to be a big issue for the governments. In very few incidents the government interrupt understanding the serious of the problem. Over the years the popularity and usage of cryptocurrency among common people keeps growing. The same is been used as the chance by the scammers, and the term bitcoin is mostly used to promote the scam and make the common people as prey for them.
One of the major problems today is about scamming most of the time, and this is the major issue in the cyber world. In the country that does not support the cryptocurrency, then the government does not touch any problem about the crypto because this is not their scope. But on the land that supports the cryptocurrency has a significant issue because this is the way how they transact to the other party. By this, the government must take action about the security of both parties to make the transaction safer.
There is already handling about it, some markets now require to make KYC, this should be able to provide transparency for the country,
money laundering, terrorism, etc. should be overcome, but it seems like KYC is not 100% optimal to handle it, I am sure if the government takes over to think the problem will be resolved even though it takes time
