Fraud exists regardless of the existence of cryptocurrencies and will continue to exist. I see no reason to worry, because it is impossible to get rid of fraud, but thanks to knowledge and caution, each of us can protect ourselves from most types of fraud as much as possible.
Glad you understand this,  I don't know why lots of people will wanna be relating scam to cryptocurrency, crypto does not promote scam,  scamming  have  been  in  existence  before  the  creation  of  cryptocurrency.  It's just that lots of scammers find it more easier to make use of crypto in their illicit works

Well, that's right! Crypto scams are really a global issue. There are many investors in bitcoin all over the world experience being a scam because of trusting instantly and giving personal information such as bitcoin wallet password and also investing in a site that is not trusted or something phishing sites. Well, all I can say is that to avoid being scam you must take care of all your actions and better research for your own risk. The last one but they will caught by the law enforcement was the child abuse owner site.

Scams have always been an issue but with development of technologies they moved into virtual space. New possibilities for criminals and much easier way to gain illegal profit. Cryptocurrencies user are especialy atractive target. And I'm not talking only about ICO's, it's much larger area.
Awarness is something that needs to be worked on and people needed to know how to protect themselves, how to check necessary facts and recognize potential scam.

Scam alone is already a global issue so when cryptocurrency was born then scammers shift to crypto scams knowing that they can easily scam a lot of people most especially newbies. As a piece of advice, it pays to really read and research on anything before entering into any projects. It is very important to be careful in choosing ICO as to not waste time on something not legit.

Well... this may sound a little bit harsh. But my advice would be to stay away from all the ICOs, until the market sentiments change. You can go for those projects which looks highly attractive for you, but in my opinion there are no such attractive projects right now. Even the IEO market is going through a rough patch. The best thing to do right now is to hold on to whatever coins you have, rather than investing them.

Actually, I have seen a lot of scam ICO in the last few years and as a bounty hunter, I also experience it. This is a big issue in the world of cryptocurrency simply because some investors are afraid to invest and they think that their money will be gone again. I know there are still ICO but as of now, we have IEO which is more secure if you going to participate in a project. One of the reasons why other people not invested in cryptocurrency is the news that they see or heard about cryptocurrency scams. I hope in the next few months there will be no scam news about cryptocurrencies because if ever this will happen many people will invest and they will gain back their trust in cryptocurrency.

Now that crypto is allowing us to transact globally I am questioning if we are going  to start to see more scams happen between countries. Do we need more compliance companies to step in to help major scams and illegal trafficking?

Full report: https://ciphertrace.com/articles/q1-2019-cryptocurrency-anti-money-laundering-report/
This is one of the major problems the crypto-market has. Because no regulation is imposed, no governing bodies are overlooking companies if they comply with the standards, we cannot prevent scams from appearing here and there. As long as there are people who falls for these scams, there will still be some groups who take advantage of people's ignorance to steal money. Regulation is often disagreed by people here, but for me, it would benefit us as long as the prices aren't affected, maintaining it decentralized.
But its popularity its normal to gain a lot of users of crypto and that is globally, its not that no government body are overlooking these companies because some of them are registered, maybe the right word to there is lax of monitoring that's why scams have increase.

However as crypto gets more popular, the government are also improving its regulation on the crypto space but we can't expect all the problems will be solve in a instant, what's necessary is that they are improving.

yes fraud is the biggest problem with cryptocurrency now. because fraud happens everywhere from scam ICO projects to fraud under the guise of bitcoin. I think we might need a regulation for someone to regulate the transaction process. and with regulations we can punish fraudsters. and maybe this can minimize the crime in cryptocurrency. but what makes me think is who is authorized to make this regulation?

I have not read the article since the OP talks about how to get rid of these scammers and all other scamming schemes. Well, in reality scam is always an issue, even with fiat money. Now, crypto is even more vulnerable to scam or worse hacked or stolen since its a virtual asset. We, ourselves are the only person who could help to get rid of being scam. With enough knowledge and proper research, we're always safe from any financial harm. Rushing things up are the main cause of being scammed, just like the people who wants to get rich overnight lol.

Scams have been a problem since the world existed, certainly not born with the crypto. There is always someone who tries to get an unfair advantage by deceiving the good faith of honest people. However it is quite easy to defend oneself, very often those who let themselves be scammed deserved it.

I have heard that there is a lot of hackers working in North Korea, and they are even more dangerous than scammers. They say that many of North Korea’s hackers secretly but officially operate in the General Bureau of Intelligence, which is engaged in secret operations. Attacks on cryptocurrency storages allow North Korea to receive financial resources that are difficult to track and which are subject to less state supervision and regulation than the traditional banking sector.

Scams are everywhere and cryptocurrency sector is no exception to this. But there are certain factors that worsen the impact of scams in this field. One of such factor is the level of anonymity offered by cryptocurrency. If someone cons the investors and vanish, then it becomes really hard to trace that particular individual. It takes a lot of time and resources to identify the person and then even more resources to file a lawsuit against him.

The other factors include the lack of experience of the investors, lack of clarity of the legal status of Bitcoin.etc. Since Bitcoin is not legal in a large number of countries, the victims are very unlikely to complain to the cops. And this encourages the scammers to repeat their tricks. Even if someone is caught, the existing laws may not offer enough clarity in terms of the quantum of punishment and other parameters.
because there is no clear cryptic law, the crime cannot be legally processed for trial. most people who are fraudulent have to give up their assets, with no returns. and the trick is to repeat the trick, because there are still many new investors and inexperienced investors who can become their victims.
I don't think this crime will decrease before the certainty of cryptocurrency law

Deception everywhere will be there and cannot be stopped even if it can be reduced and resolved legally. as well as in crypto, with more and more new projects growing. then there will be many who also deliberately seek personal gain by committing fraud. but now we reduce the fraud that occurs more selectively and analyze well what we will do. at least thereby reducing the fraud occurred.

When dealing with Crypto, you must accept it with always having scammers around you. Because trading with Crypto is an anonymous transaction, this has the disadvantage that you will not get money back when you are scammed.
Also Crypto is not accepted in some countries so you will not be protected.

Just consider that scams happened before the rise of cryptocurrencies.
Anonymity is not the only fact that scams have become rampant in the sector. It is also the fact that people are naive and they believe scammers who claim that they can provide high returns without any work to be done from their side.

I believe he thinks that if you use fiat and someone scam you, you can report it to police, you can be insured in some other ways too. Scams existed long before crypto, it`s a fact, crypto is very different from fiat, scam schemes are more complicated, anonymity and possibility to scam people from anywhere makes it hard for police to track scammers.
Crypto scams are global issue indeed, and to fight against crypto scammers countries across the world will have to upgrade their technology and learn more about crypto itself if they want to catch crypto scammers.

The scam is a common word in every sector. From eCommerce, trade to crypto everything has a negative side which is a scam. Crypto one of the big financial asset in the world, so scam issue obviously a global issue. You can't stop it, but if everyone stays aware, then we can reduce it in number!

On the global financial market, scammers and fraudsters are not often seen due to tight control by regulators.

Therefore, enterprising scams have chosen a segment of cryptocurrencies, which so far has no clear rules and legislative framework. Unfortunately, each newbie in a crypto world is a "tasty piece" for a scammer. We simply need to be more cautious.

The only ways we can help ourselves to handle scam is to trade or transact with caution. Just like any other thing, scam is globally and we should not relate our information about our account with any body no matter on how close the person are to us. We should also not respond to any mail that require our details.
