I really have problems paying for games or need to buy in-game items by paying. You know, they require a visa or a credit card, but I'm too young to have them. So I was helpless to buy the item.

Found out about a new project today called Ludena Protocol.
From what I've read its an app in Korea currently with 3 million users thats launching globally soon

Basically you play mobile games like COD, PUBG etc and then get rewarded in tokens, in exchange for them collecting your data and then selling it to publishers.

Does something like this even make sense? Most gamers don't care about cryptocurrency in my opinion, but the fact that 3 million users are currently using the platform that can be easily convereted into DAPP users in the backgorund is kind of appealing.

Anyways, I would appreciate everyones input on whether these two industries should even be combined

the world of mobile gaming today is very popular if indeed the world of online gaming (mobile / pc) in the future will be combined with the world of cryptocurency I think this is a very good idea and might be a very significant movement this year because I think At this time cryptocurency and gaming are very trendy at the moment.
Yes thank you for your kind words, we have been working in the gaming industry over the past 7 years and have a strong understanding of how blockchain can be implemented to complement the existing industry.

Reading through and seeing what the team has achieved so far is nice and really good, thus one can only but wish the team will continue to bring out the best as they have been doing. There have been many platforms which started well but one thing lead to another and they are nowhere to be found today. Therefore, with this project achieving all these so far, I think with more input and more implementations they will attract more users thus driving more value to the platform. I will research on the project to know more and how best the team aims to keep their platform growing.

Thank you for your feedback. We do not make empty promises, and we already have an existing business with 3 million users in Korea. What we are doing is expanding to a global audience

If this is true of the app, I would advise that people stay away from it because no one really knows what personal data they're collecting. No amount of money can equal ones privacy we should strive to protect our privacy as much as we can.

Hi Mianae, to give an example some of the data that would be relavant to a gaming publisher would be whether a user makes in-app purchases or not. We do not have access to nor would share if we did, users private data!

There have been many projects that have tried to combine the gaming and cryptocurrency. I think it is very tricky when there is a monopoly in gaming industry and certain apps/websites control large part of market share. I've always liked the idea of combining the two and I really hope that there is success in that. I am not sure but increasing incentives can be helpful but not necessarily. You need audience too.

If this will be your personal information then I will be passing out with this. If they only requires your Gmail then we can still use different Gmail to the game.

Does something like this even make sense? Most gamers don't care about cryptocurrency in my opinion, but the fact that 3 million users are currently using the platform that can be easily convereted into DAPP users in the backgorund is kind of appealing.
Maybe some may not but if they see that they can earn crypto in the game and at the same time enjoy playing it then they will be have care for it. With regards to the number of users, I think that it can be easily manipulated thru bots if I'm not mistaken

Overall, earning crypto while playing mobile games sounds cool for me since you are enjoying and at the same time earning bits of crypto. On the other side, I will not play on their games if they require their users to get their personal information.

Hi LogitechMouse, actually I think there is a misunderstanding. Basically its not your personal data but other inforamtion that may be relavant to game publishers. An example would be whether you make in-app purchases or not, or whether you spend more time playing RPGs or FPS games. Rather than selling your personal info, its more about collecting data on your gaming habits and rewarding users who opt to share that information with advertisers and game publishers!

That clarify things here. It is normal that an app will collect the habit of a gamer  but hopefully no personal info is really included in this data collection. Anyway, I am with the development of crypto and mobile gaming. Actually, a lot of games have their own type of currency even before crypto was introduced. So I guess, integrating the concept of cryptocurrency among gamers is really not difficult. Actually, they might be the easiest ones to teach about crypto because they are already used to more complex things when playing games.

Gaming world and crypto has worked hard to combine but it has always been a bit difficult. Steam accepted bitcoin for a while, twitch accepts bitcoin I think, there are so many different ways that bitcoin was introduced but in the end it is not happening in a wide scale faster than other sectors.

Microtransactions in shape of crypto currency could be something that could be done but at the same time micro transactions are already hated a lot as well so it doesn't really change too much for the companies. Don't get me wrong it is hated but it is also one of the main incomes of the game companies as well, so I am not entirely sure if they mind getting even a bit more thanks to crypto. The real question is it would create some accounting changes when it is crypto so would it worth it enough to make all those changes just to add crypto?

Yes i think so. In our real world gaming industry have huge marketplace and many gaming giant companies try to reach in crypto currency with their reliable product. There is no doubt crypto currency not for all sector (at least present time) but i think there are huge possibility for gaming sector in this industry. Here is a perfect article to make understand why gaming sector is a future in crypto industry.

there is high chance it will be successful as it is still a new market that has not been tapped. Cryptocurrencies have been targetting people with blockchain knowledge and not everyday users. this is why i think Ludena protocol will succeed
You said that there is still a high chance but we have seen so many times the project related to this idea has become a dead project. Did you know playgame? that's the latest project that has no development.

I hope ludena will learn from the mistakes that have already made by the majority of failed project in the past.

Collecting data and selling to publishers, in this case I assume it is the gaming experience, review and it's likes that will be collected, if this is not the case, and maybe it's personal data then it's wrong. Actually, nowadays in the crypto space, gamers are finding reasons to play and earn crypto depending on the settings of the platform but the only issue is, there are just few platforms that are already making it possible. Therefore, if this platform with such users can do something better about gaming and crypto then I think it's highly welcome.

Not even in video games but in different platform most of the data they sell is came from your cookies or the recently searched platform and visited and by those ideas, the companies are selling items they will recommend those into your social media platforms. Like the Lazada and Facebook every time you are searching with your search engine and using Facebook and search for any items you would like and also direct to an online shop. After a few moments, most of the advertisement on your social media is related to your items recently searched.

We're not talking about cookies, though. The app can detect what games you have on your phone and then how often you play that game, etc. That information is crucial to game publishers. With cookies, I can see that you maybe searched for Red Dead Redemption, but that doesn't mean you play that game. You might have just been curious about what it is. Now game publishers are going to show you ads about Red Dead Redemption 2, but since you don't play that game, there are marketing dollars wasted. We greatly improve the efficiency of marketing dollars.

I see so this sounds great, when can we expect an english version of the app to come out? I keep hearing Q2 but was wondering if theres a beta or something that I can join earlier and help test your app I live in Bangalore and because of COVID 19 need job.  Want to be  pro gamer so really looking forward too this app please

Thanks so much for saying that. The Beta version of the Dapp is coming out in this quarter, but that will be in the Korean language. The English version has a Q3 release date.

I heard somewhere that gamers are likely to use cryptocurrencies as they are both kind of similar in nature.

Anyway, I play lot of cod-m so definitely gonna look out for this one. Hoping they don't collect too much data haha.

That's a really good point.. Our app already rewards users in digital assets or "stars" so we expect that this will greatly improve the rate of success when transitioning from app--> dapp
