Found out about a new project today called Ludena Protocol.
From what I've read its an app in Korea currently with 3 million users thats launching globally soon

Basically you play mobile games like COD, PUBG etc and then get rewarded in tokens, in exchange for them collecting your data and then selling it to publishers.

Does something like this even make sense? Most gamers don't care about cryptocurrency in my opinion, but the fact that 3 million users are currently using the platform that can be easily convereted into DAPP users in the backgorund is kind of appealing.

Anyways, I would appreciate everyones input on whether these two industries should even be combined

There have been a few projects like this before and they have failed. If I remember correctly, one of them was called Ant Protocol. The difference of Ant Protocol was that the system would work on game consoles. In Ludena, things focus on mobile devices.

A platform experiment that is not easy to accomplish and I think requires a serious investment. Most of the projects from Korea are successful in the market. I will follow. Since I often play COD, I think that if we have a chance to make money with it, it will be super.

Yeah this is why I am a fan of Ludena Protocol. I've been watching videos on youtube of the Korean players, and basically it auto-detects every game you have already downloaded on your phone. So basiccally you can play existing games you have and they are automatically loaded into the app.

Cryptocurrencies and games will have a bright future. In-game transactions can be paid using secure cryptocurrencies thanks to blockchain technology. Items and characters in the game are created by gamers during the game, they have full ownership without fear of losing.

exactly, so when projects like Ludena Protocol finish building their platform, basically with the partners they have now like NCsoft, Blizzard, etc those items will be on blockchain?

That's different. They are just partners for Ludena which doesn't mean they will also have the same route of what Ludena did.
To understand clearly, maybe something like a shareholder or an investor.

Now, if you want Blizzard to do the same, it is a different story.
You could go to their page and maybe suggest they put their work combining the technology of the blockchain.

This would soon come into mainstream. There are many games made by the same publisher but we still need to buy tokens for them differently. We can't just share our excess token with our friend or save the tokens we earn for later seasons. Universal blockchain token for gaming would solve many problems of the user and would make it easier of the publisher to sell it's token.

Yes, it should be combined.
I haven't tried that game though so I will check that later.

I am into reading the gaming industry lately since I don't have much to do and just want to keep myself updated.
Kept thinking how it could happen.
Tried to think about the staking process on how it is done and connect some dots.
In staking you don't really have to be online but you will need to keep updating it.
How about here in the gaming process, you will need to be online to keep on making more tokens or coins while also having fun.
They can put advertisements for profits.

But it needs a good kind of platform, something like a MMORPG will work or an Action/Adventure type.
Since I don't really know how to make it come true, I just suggested it to professionals in that industry.

Collect your data and sell it to the publisher? Now it depends on what "kind of data" they will be collecting. If its some personal data, then no thanks.
But I don't see the real use case over here. Most of the companies already collects user data (keeping the user anonymous) and shares it with the publishers. I don't see what makes "Luden Protocol" so special that publishers will be wanting to use them.

I thought the same until I did my research, it looks like they already have Blizzard, NC soft, nexon etc as partners , its pretty impressive actually

Very interesting and reasonable, this is a situation where a lot of players don't understand. In their minds, on average, they only play to win and get chips and can sell them to their fellow communities without caring about being converted to DAPP users or others. Solution is to choose the type of platform that can truly protect your data and this is fair, no one harmed.

well, if the conditions are very favorable, I think it should be done, we know that the gaming industry should not be underestimated, because now is the digital era, so games related to digital technologies are the focus of all people, online players games are now from 5 to 50 years old. year is undeniable.
so this is a new breakthrough, if indeed this project managed to raise its name with the help of the game.

The concept of rewards for users data - it's not new at all, lol.
It's a good idea, but allowing your personal data to be traded is disrespectful. Give tokens to gamers - and them will form the market they need, whether it is a market of purely in-game items/currencies or with withdrawal to other currencies and fiat.

it is a perfect combination between mobile gaming and gaming as a whole and cryptocurrencies, i am not saying that all projects will be successful, but it is a match, due to:
- existence of non-fungible tokens, that could be owned in the game, and sold on third party markets, not related to the game itself, which makes gaming a type of business for users
- low fees for in-game purchasing, which could be settled in real time, and without third party involved

Are you serious with that information? "collecting your data and then selling it to publishers." question: what kind of data did you mean? I think thats weird if those users do not know that trick. Just imagine it has three million users that might be lost if that unlawful selling of data was exposed and also it can damage their reputation, By doing such thing It doesn't make sense to me. It's better to choose another Gaming platform that observes privacy and protects its user's data. I think there's plenty of gaming Dapps in the market that we use. I was only basing my opinion on your OP so correct me if I'm wrong.

What specific data they would gather from gamers? I think there's something like this that I have seen but basically I'm not interested if the reward system is just like a random giveaway.
It's going to be a great incentive if you can actually play the game that you want and you will receive rewards in an acceptable crypto.

dApps platform that into game are famous. I often see a lot of topic on social media about cartesi and been promoted everywhere. When I checked it and learn what it is, I see that its a gaming platform, I try playing it and its really a fun game. I regret that I see it late cause there are contest that launched with this on Binance but its okay, the point here is depends on the gaming that will launched cause when a game has an attractive gameplay people will like it and relating it on crypto is good as you can earn tokens from playing games.

that's interesting to see that. Something like this is much better rather than dapps game. The HD game will bring more demand rather than a dapps game. it does make sense. remember the implementation of crypto could be used as a in game money that can be used to create a transaction between from user to the another user.

Well, I'm not surprised if the cryptocurrency platform had such adoption within a short period of time. Gaming is a time consuming as well an expensive hobby and gamers have been looking for ways to monetize their gaming experience for so long so that they can earn reward for the huge time spent for playing games as well to be able to purchase in-game assets, weapons and accessories that will enhance their gaming experience without straining their real cash. Seeing platforms that are emerging to monetize the gaming community is really an amazing concept and good application of blockchain. With the homogeneity of the gaming community, i have no doubt the project has lots of potentials of being successful

The ideas regarding cryptcurrency in different types of computer and mobile gaming application is not a new issue since the first launching of games are using virtual money to buy items and to upgrades as a premium account. However this new generation of mobile games (Ludena Protocol) is more interesting because by playing games you can earn coins or token. This is not a bad idea at alll for all crypto enthusiast because they can sell their token on the designated exchange but collecting users information in not a good thing for me because this can be done or use in different fraudulent activities.
