World Chess Championship Match tied after 12 games.

Tiebreaker begins tomorrow:

https://worldchess.com/2016/11/28/world-ch-game-12-an-anticlimactic-draw/

Magnus Carlsen won the tiebreak and remained world Champion.

Monero remains the champion of blockchain privacy and AEON has now clearly surpassed BBR as the second most interesting CryptoNote currency and the new leader for pruning research.

Like many others I do like the roadmap of 1blocktologist nor do I trust his competence.

Unless crypto_zoidberg returns to actively develop Boolberry soon it appears likely the dominance of Aeon for pruning and scaling CryptoNote (Now RingCT) research will become permanent.

Soon, I will approach more chess players about Monero.

If you enjoy the World Championship coverage of  GM Huschenbeth You can tip him with Monero now!

I want to give away some money and encourage people to move away from PayPal.

Help me identify popular chess channels on  YouTube, Twitch, etc willing to accept donations in Monero and Bitcoin. Any channel that adds a donation address will receive a tip.  I will be much more generous if they accept Monero (but will also support Bitcoin) because of my interest in privacy. The most generous tips will be received by chess channels that also talk about Monero in a video.

I am seeking input regarding interest to revive this Chess and CryptoNote thread.  Suggested changes in format should the thread become active again are welcome.

I would like to see a greater focus on technical discussion and an effort to drive more traffic to Monero Stack Excahnge where both Boolberry and Aeon are on topic.

Looks fishy to me too. Thanks for the heads up!

I have not logged onto my Bitcointalk account in quite some time, but felt motivated to state my objection. Hopefully my comments will discourage a few people from investing in the ICO.

It is obvious that the developer is not a serious chess player and only using "chess" as a buzzword to attract investment from non chess players who do not understand the realities of playing chess online in the age of computers.

Ignoring the prize money problems, creating decentralized DAPPs for playing chess is a solution in search of a problem.

Very fast time controls are dominant online and latency is extremely important.  With numerous reliable free solutions already available, it makes no sense why someone would pay transaction fees to utilize a blockchain based chess DAPP to play a one minute bullet game.

Without question this is a horrible idea. The ICO model is extremely greedy and development is focused on ideas that will not work. Any online chess tournament with significant prizes will attract bots strong enough to beat the best players in the world.

No evidence of Chess DAPPs ideas of any value have been presented. I see lots of buzzwords and zero substance.

I want to promote the use of cryptocurrency within this Chess community. This Chesscoin ICO looks toxic and is likely to do more harm than good.

Stay away!

There are thousands of chess games played online everyday. Enthusiastic chess players spend a lot of time playing chess without any achievement. Many chess softwares and websites have built up modern platforms for chess players to fight against computer and human or to join online tournaments in all formats which are the same as authentic tournaments. The difference between those two tournaments is that online players just receive virtual medals without any material value. If there is a game-based platform in which chess players are paid whenever they win a game or a tournament, it would be great chances for millions of people whose dreams are to play chess for real award. That platform which is based on an advanced  prize delivering system will hold both amateur and professional tournaments in all levels. Accompany with the quick development of blockchain technology, that platform will eventually come true. We, the men who are enthusiastic in both chess and cryptocurrency have been working hard to build up a Blockchain based Chess Dapp or Decentralized Chess Playing Platform which is fueled by a cryptocoin, named ChessCoin.

ChessCoin Specifications

    Coin name: ChessCoin
     Coin Ticker: CHESS
     Algorithm: Scrypt
     Type: Hybrid PoW/PoS
     PoW lasts for 4096 Blocks
     PoS works from beginning.
     Block reward: 64
     Target spacing: 64 seconds
     Max supply: 74.666.667
     Premine percent: 64%
     Premine amount: 48.000.000
     Min stake time: 2 hours
     Coinbase maturity: 32 blocks

Premine is used for ICO to raise fund for further development of ChessCoin based Dapps. PoW which lasts not too long (4096 blocks) is for stabilizing and securing ChessCoin network at the early phase. 32% anual stake reward would not be high because this will encourage ChessCoin investors to hold it for long term. One another important thing is that an impressive PoS reward will be more attractive to chess community. The more people join in , the more value ChessCoin will increase.

That was some great middle game while @letsplayagame was active which set up the win. It was still drawable for us but I saw a couple of moves in the end game that set us back, just not enough votes to counter them.

Congrats to GM Karjakin on winning the Candidates. Some really exciting games were played in the tournament and it will be fun to watch the Carlsen-Karjakin championship later in the year. I wonder if @letsplayagame is ready to reveal himself now !

Every move loses by force. I have no doubt that are multiple people in this thread could win with black here playing against anyone in the world.

In fact I would give Magnus Carlsen 10/1 odds that I could win playing blindfold with black against him in this position.

Lets resign the game now and call the match a tie. Team Monero did not make us play to the end after it became obvious we would win game 1.

I said I would play Nxb5 in a blitz game -- it's much easier to push pawns in time trouble, than to stop them.  But, of course, here it's better to resign.

Congratulations on a great game Team Monero. Boolberry resigns. I am open to new chess related ideas. Maybe we can convince letsplayagame to help use use chess to promote CryptoNote in some fashion.

Until then lets keep the technical discussions going for CryptoNote. Monero is working on a lot of very interesting things right now.

In a blitz game I would certainly play Nb5  (with the idea a2-a4! after black recaptures). At least it would be fun   Smiley

Images in other threads are not working so it seems the problem is BCT related.

Thank you. I had not noticed this until your comment. This game is likely to end in a few moves anyway. Team Boolberry is running out of plausible defensive resources.

If we play Nc2 black can trade all the pieces and easily win the resulting king and pawn endgame. If we play anything else, black will capture on f3. It will be impossible to prevent 3 connected passed pawns from advancing.

Current position
Based on the votes in this thread Team Monero has chosen to play Kf4. Now it is time for Team Boolberry to respond. I will plan to count votes again tomorrow at approximately 0:00 UTC.
