Hi! Thanks for reaching. Here are more clarifications:

1. There is 2500 lifetime load limit for all unverified cards. This is clearly stated on the product page here: cryptopay.me/bitcoin-debit-card . Lifetime load value is total amount of funds loaded both through Cryptopay and from other sources like PayPal or casinos.

2. Regulations change and sometimes swiftly. Our card issuer has decided to block all third party loads for unverified cards. This new rule has come into place without any prior notice on Monday. That's why many cards has been blocked. Right now, all cards are unblocked and there is some transition period in place untill Dec 1. So, if clients do not want to verify their ID and still accept third party loads, they should seek another provider. Sad but true.
We will reach affected customers over the email tomorrow.

In regards to card delivery, it really depends. Contact the support team via livechat on the website and they will help you.
1. I know about the limits. And I take it that's a yes.
2. I understand. Good to know you were able to manage a transition period for your clients.
3. I see, then I will do so. Thank you.

Hi and sorry for this incident. We're facing additional restrictions from our card issuer regarding third party loads, like withdrawing from PayPal or online casinos. We're discussing this issue with card issuer, but it seems that they will require account verification for this transactions to avoid fraud. This means, that if you withdraw from PayPal you need your account to get verified.

As per "No ID is required", we're happy to clarify. According to AML/KYC rules in Europe, there is no such a thing as anonymous debit card, anonymous account or anonymous payments. This is totally illegal and any operator promoting anonymous financial services is breaking the law and it's management can face prison. What can be achieved is privacy. We do not ask you for your ID and residence documents while your account activity is lower that 2500 Euros threshold and happy to have lower limit on card transactions. This is the difference between verified and unverified account.
So, you're saying that he either tried to withdraw from PayPal or exceeded the account activity threshold of 2500 Euros, that's why his card is blocked and needs verification to be unlocked?

I must say, I'm with him on this. Shouldn't there be something written to that effect on your page? There should be a warning to your users about that restriction. Rules must be clear. Especially since you're touting the "no verification needed" card.

On another note, may I ask how long delivery usually takes? It's been almost 6 weeks and I have yet to receive my card. What is the longest it could take for it to get delivered? Thank you.

Information about the risks of withdraw from PayPal and gambling services should be in the regulations.
These types of transactions are very popular. It seems that I was lucky that I didn't make any such operation, because my card would also be locked.
Good to know.. but it is late for "Imcompany". I think that you should help him to resolve this situation.

I am not very upset, but money is money.
While I understand they may not have a problem with me, I believed to their statement about "No ID is required" and was not expecting any lock by their issuer and thought they are confident with their backbone to not lock any customer's card.

If I knew about the risk of lock before, I'd simply avoid the service for good.
I was not notified about that risk and now it resulted into the conflict between the end customer and service.

Also, the card transactions were not high risk or gambling (as you mentioned casino).

Did you exceed the EUR 2500 use limit on the card?

My account is not locked but my card is indeed and I can't get my money back (Unload card functionality is locked).

I've been using them for a long time as well, and told before that 'No ID verification is required' and the only reason I've been using their service was that statement.

I also have an old account with e-coin and their issuer is the same, why should I care about it at all? I am the end customer of cryptopay.me and they should resolve this without my presence. Otherwise if they can't they should remove the statement 'No ID verification is required' from their site, because turns out it's a complete lie.

I don't want to contact their issuer directly because the main idea of using their service for me was anonymity, and this move will break my anonymity.

Also, the limit wasn't exceeded.

I understand that you're upset, but as you wrote Cryptopay account is not locked. So they don't have problem with you.
If I may advise you, write them a request to explain the situation in your name.
But I'd rather write directly to the card issuer.

Ps. I do not want to guess, but such situations happen when someone makes transactions/deposits in online casinos .. maybe this is the reason ..  Roll Eyes

BEWARE OF THEIR SERVICE, HERE'S WHY:

Some time ago I was in need of legit virtual visa issuer that accepts Bitcoin.
My main criteria was anonymity, all I wanted is to avoid sending any personal IDs via the Internet.
The winner of my attention was `cryptopay.me`, I was very happy with their service until today.

One of their site pages (https://cryptopay.me/bitcoin-debit-card) clearly states the following:
Quote
No ID verification required

Cryptopay customers are not required to complete ID verification provided if they are happy to stay within the lower debit card limits. It is possible to stay anonymous where desired.
Screenshot of this quote in case they remove it after this post: https://i.imgur.com/4WXT0fs.png

I was like wow, "this is exactly what I'm looking for!".

Today my card's transaction history has stopped showing some last authorization, as well as I got a declined transaction twice when tried to make a purchase.
I wrote about it to their support and got the unexpected:

Hello,

Your card has been blocked by our card issuer. To unlock it please provide verification documents:

1.) A valid government issued ID - high-quality images of the following documents are acceptable:
• International passport (double page)
• National ID card (both sides)
• Driving license (both sides)
Important: To avoid delays when verifying your account, make sure that your submitted documents are:
• Entirely visible (watermarks are permitted);
• Images of high quality (color images, with resolution of 300dpi or higher);
• Valid ID documents with expiry date clearly visible.

2.) A proof of residency - a high quality scanned images or a direct online extract of the following documents: Bank statement, Utility bill, Tax return, council tax bill, Certificate of residency issued by a government, within the last 3 months and addressed to your name and home address.
We cannot accept mobile phone bill or a credit card statement as proof of residence.

Note: For languages such as that use non-Latin characters, a certified translation of your proof of residence document will greatly speed up processing time.

Best regards,
Stanislav Petuhov

Of course I answered that I am not going to provide any documents as their site states I don't need to, and their 'issuer' can stay with my 500 euros.

Here is a screenshot of my account made today just in case someone decide to think I lie: https://i.imgur.com/ozixNEn.png

Now I withdrew 6 BTC i had there and will not use this service anymore.

I hope this post will help those who seek anonymous debit cards to prevent any loses with this service in future.

It is really strange. I was one from first persons that get their card, so i use it almost year without problems.
If you've had so big turnover ("6 BTC, 500euros") maybe you exceeded the limit? Ask  them about the reason of blocking your card.
Anyway you said that you withdraw 6 BTC, so your account is not blocked. It is blocked your card - so you should to know that Cryptopay is not card issuer. My card delivered by Cryptopay was issued by Wave Crest Holdings Limited

Meybe better is contact directly with them..

It will work like normal VISA card. If the hotel where you want pay accept VISA, it will work for sure. Two days ago i pay with Cryptopay card for plane tickets, and everything went smooth. Smiley

I wonder if you pay for an international flight to the USA, how many red flags would go up, as they send over all the data to the DHS

lol good one

No, I didn't pay for flight to USA. I pay for one national flight in Spain and second international flight in Europe. Never been buying tickets to USA, so i don't know about "red flags" during plain ticket purchase.. Here everything went without problems, like with other payment methods.
