The game looks twisted up with 5 wickets gone. I thought that 241 was a really good score to chase but now NZ are struggling with more 95 runs to chase down. If 2 more wickets fall, the game will slip in SA's favor and they can easily get the runs with 1s in every over. No need to take any risk.

They are 5 down now. 92 more to go and they still have half of their team to bat. The overs wont be a big problem but they should not give away quick wickets as wickets at the moment would create much pressure. If they are able to hold this partnership, they'll easily win over South Africa.

NZ and SA match is taking some interesting turns and if SA can take a quick more couple of wickets they can easily pull this match .  105 runs in 17 overs require and 6 wicket left . If SA lose the match they would just like to forget that wc is going on .

The Kiwis are slowly building a partnership, but they are no longer the favorites to win this match. 130 runs needed with just 6 wickets in hand. And the required run rate is fast approaching 6 per over. The only plus point for NZ right now is that Kane Williamson has scored a fifty and Neesham is giving him good company. But one more wicket and the game will be solidly in the grasp of the Proteas.

New Zealand had been pretty good this tournament and 242 is a below average target. South Africa is nearly out of the tournament and New Zealand is still unbeaten. But again you can't ignore the bowling lineup of SA, New Zealand are already one down and below the required run rate. New Zealand just need to stick along to win this game.
I hope they'd not make me regret for my 1.5  odds bet on them.
Considering the pitch it is not a sub par total as even New Zealand is also struggling to score runs freely but the important factor here is that they are not loosing any wickets and if they play carefully then they could reach the target without much struggle and i would like to see how they are going to face an attacking spinner like Imran Thahir and he is yet to bowl and if NZ players could tackle him well, then there is nothing to worry for New Zealand as they will reach the target comfortably.

If I am not wrong, NZ needs to chase almost the same runs in less number of overs, right?
Whatever the score, New Zealand will need to chase it in 49 overs coz this is a 49 over match. 2 balls left for South African inning. So far 231.

Edit: Dussen added more 10 runs form the last two balls. So New Zealand will need to chase 241 runs to win.

This score won't be easy, if Kane and Guptil will out soon, they have to play sensibly and let Rabada finished his 1st spell before taking so much risk.
It's a great chance for New Zealand, if they win today, most probably they will through for Semi Final.
New Zealand is much better and aggressive team today they done very good job now they started batting and have good start for me they are now they in fourth most hot team for semi final no other team have chance.

Suddenly the match looks more competitive than I had imagined. Glad that I had finally picked "comfortable" win for New Zealand, after initially chosing the "Easy" option. Both Rabada and Ngidi are looking good and the weather is also lending a helping hand for the South African bowlers. There is some swing in the air, and the extra humidity may be the reason for that.

LOL I though you always had confident for De Kock and used to go with over market :-P

I do like the over markets but the NZ bowlers are on fire so I went for the under for a change  Tongue

You got unlucky with your 20/25 over market bets, hoping you have better luck tomorrow!

Both strike bowlers are doing very well. It's not going to be an easy chase. New Zealand needs to settle down first. Take the time then they can go for chasing the run.

A question:- If we pick the team and forget to lock it before the match start, will it get automatically locked ?
You need not to worry about locking a pick. Once the match start they lock the match.

Back to the match, South Africa got their first success. Munro was unlucky. Bat to pad and pad to the air and Rabada managed to catch it from is follow throw.

On a side note, I do not want South Africa to win anymore :-P

South Africa did finish well and scored 75 runs on the final 10 overs. This means that they will go positive in the 2nd innings and if they are able to take wickets who knows they can take the revenge of 2015 World cup Semi final.

I am waiting for the toss and depending on the outcome and the very latest news I may change my pick. This is why I do not lock my pick.

As of now, it looks like South Africa may score somewhere around 240-250, which is going to be short by at least 40 runs. With 7 overs remaining, they are at 182/4. At this point, I am having a doubt. In case there is rain interruption during the second innings, for which side it is going to be favorable? If I am not wrong, NZ needs to chase almost the same runs in less number of overs, right?

From this stage I can see the New Zealand is going to have a trashing win today.

Let it be an easy win, please.  Tongue

I never would've chosen South Africa win today, NZ was an easy pick, really.
Rainy weather assist bowlers more but RSA could have been played a little better but wait for the remaining overs look like there is a small partership building at the moment between miller and rassie lets see how far they can get this into.

I will be paying the prize of experimenting LOL

Every odds were against South Africa but I considered two points:
1. New Zealand were playing weaker teams
2. South Africa's do or die match

but seems like I am wrong. My experiment did not work :-P

I've already won my single bet for today - De Kock total: Under 35.5 (1.92)  Cheesy
LOL I though you always had confident for De Kock and used to go with over market :-P

Anyway, congrats bud.

This is not a good day for me. Already lost two bat in 20 and 25 overs market. A 7 fold is in risk as well (well going to lose coz I picked SA to win). Not going to gamble anymore in this match unless I find something sure win.

Appreciate the incentives that you are giving for the round winners.

As expected... South Africa in dire straits against the New Zealand pace battery. This match will be the last nail in the coffin for South African cricket. Once they were regarded as a cricketing powerhouse. And now they are unable to put up a credible performance against teams such as New Zealand. The racial quotas have killed the South African cricket. They lost a lot many of the promising white players due to this stupid quota system.
